I love the first dress, it looked like vintage 1970s. The bag is a market bag, so it’s originally for putting your fresh fruit and veg in at the farmers market so goes with the cottage core vibe.
This was such a fun video! Maybe, you could build on it and research these styles, go to charity stores and put together your own version! That honestly sounds like it would be loads of fun! (I think I've seen Pretty Pastel Please do that for Dark Academia and it was really enjoyable to watch.)

@@sophielouuuise I agree! It’s not my style at all, but the fit was very flattering on you. Imagine changing that neckline to a square or v-neck, and dyeing the entire thing black. Stunning. You could make it even more wearable by hemming it to above your knee. I would love to see a video where you DIY a few pieces to fit your personal style!

To be honest, I think both of the sellers didn't quite understood the assignment. The items were alright, but not really in these aesthetics. Maybe I'm wrong but cottagecore was more like goblincore, dark academia like light, soft girl not so soft, but gothic is 😂

I mean the point of the boxes is definitely to compliment your existing wardrobe with bits that fit your style. I think the first seller did really well for both aesthetics! Like the shorts should be worn with black tights and the cardigan would be with an otherwise dark outfit.
The Dark Academia one was more broadly 'academia'; a mix. Cottagecore seemed fairly accurate. The soft one was more just vaguely 'trendy' Y2K inspired. The gothic one was alright, but a much more mild goth look.
I loved this video!! The soft girl box was way off not sure the seller understood the aesthetic. I love seeing you change your style and your opinion on the items always makes me laugh. I would love to see you do more of these types of videos. Maybe you making your own outfits of the different aesthetics. I can't wait for advent calendars I would love to see you open the revolution game of thrones calender ❤

Ok that softgirl one...as someone into pastels and tonnes of friends into the aesthetic i have no idea what they thought by putting in that dark top& tartan skirt... the white top is so cute and with a pastel skirt, some leg warmers and those pearl accessories would have been perfect...
The second seller was a bit of a disappointment. It's like they didn't really try which is a shame. This was such a cute video though! Would definitely love to see you try more styles 😊 I do however wish we could have seen the rest of the clothes tried on. That purple knitted top looked super cute 😍

As someone with the soft girl aesthetic i’m so disappointed by the soft girl box lol!! I think the items should have definitely been more pastel, maybe with frills/cute patterns etc. Loved this video though, would love to see you do it again with a proper soft girl aesthetic mystery box haha!!

It was curated in both aesthetic and sizing which takes time and effort. They put a lot of work into it on top of the price of the clothes and accessories
@@Rose-jz6sx still a pretty steep price considering the styles were also completely wrong and tbh the jewellery looked like stuff you could get cheap at Claire's..I would've personally paid a maximum of 40. The first one was slightly better but still not 80 pound's worth imo.

i'm late to this but i'm disappointed with these etsy sellers who are very clearly ripping people off, like the seller who gave you a box full of old, used makeup. unfortunately though, i bet they think they can get away with it because youtubers buy their stuff (obviously unknowingly) and they end up profiting. this isn't quite the case in this video but the soft girl seller definitely didn't stick to the brief
I feel like I could potentially get into the cottagecore aesthetic during the fall season but instead of flowers and plants make it spooky stuff like gothic cottagecore 😅

I think it would have been fun in the end to have mixed up all four mystery boxes and made your own outfits. There were quite a few from the boxes that I could see you putting together to make really neat outfits. And the boots from the first seller would have gone great with the goth outfit. Just a thought for if you do this next time end it with making up your own outfits out of all the ones you were sent.

The first dress actually looks great on you, but I get it is not your style. :) The bag with the holes is called string bag. It was originaly invented in 20s in my country, the Czech Republic (back then it was Czechoslovakia). And at first it was meant for grocery shopping.
I immediately thought of Sophie from howls moving castle when I saw you in the floral navy dress! Living up to your name, looked beautiful 💕
you could redo this video but do a shop your own wardrobe version where you try to put an outfit/outfits together for particular aesthetics!

I think the first boxes were spot on. I love dark academia and would have loved to receive those items. They weren't really your style but that's kinda exactly the point since those aren't your esthetic.
That soft girl box was not great, would have been disappointed if I was looking for soft girl. The Goth one was decent but could have been better.
Anyway fun video idea, loved watching. Would love to watch more like this.

The first dress really suited you omg. If you feel a little out of your comfort zone with the dress being so long then maybe get it cut to a shorter more modern length, honestly it's lovely x

The cottage core dress the cut actually suits your figure so much. Would love to see you in something similar but maybe just a solid simple colour like black. Also the soft girl one totally just made me think oktoberfest.
This is a great idea to expand your horizons but I think you need to research a little more because it didn't seem like you knew what these styles were meant to entail and you were pretty harsh with them just because it wasn't YOUR style.
The second seller didn't know much about the soft girl aesthetic that was not very fair to you.
I think you could definitely build off this video or do something similar again and maybe show comparison or inspiration photos before too. Try to focus on the seller's ability to find items and the style itself rather than your personal opinion on the outfits. You looked fantastic in all of them by the way ❤️
This was so interesting to see. Another youtuber I watched did this. Its cool to see how different people are. I dont think the seller understood the soft girl aesthetic at all. The outfit looked more academia or cottage core
You should buy boxes of styles that you know you like. The cottagecore items are very cute for someone who likes that style.

Its like people trying to jump of the aesthetic trend when they just guess what they are. None of them are great. Theyve put no effort into making viable outfits.

The cottage core dress would be pretty cute if you could have it tailored shorter (knee length or so) and modified to have a different neckline. And the dark academia look would look great with a pair of sleek Chelsea boots or oxfords/loafers.
Also the seller did legit the bare minimum with the second set of themes. 😂 That soft girl look was more- cottagecore meets light/dark academia. The goth look was forever 21 goth vibes. 😂
I think the cottage core box was good, but if it’s not your style and you don’t understand the asthetic it was never going to be good for you and your vibe. As someone who lives for this asthetic I thought it was a pretty good box

I absolutely love the shoes in the second collection. Those are my style. I am very sporty and very comfy. I don't wear any dresses. And I really like the baggy shorts. I could definitely wear those.
That first dress looks like something out of the 1800s. Like an old woman would wear on Little House on the Prairie. And it did not look good. I can't imagine anybody wearing this for any reason except as a costume.

The volume on this video is extremely low and I have my volume turned up as high as I can go and I can barely hear. So in future videos can you please make sure that the volume is a lot higher so that I can hear you better. I really enjoy your videos and if I can't hear you than I can enjoy it and I don't like having to strain my ears to hear
Hear me out though........cut off the dress so that it’s just a skirt. Wear it with the white off the shoulder top. Then you could maybe get by putting the sleeveless waistcoat over the top.....maybe.

That Cottage Core box was not cottage core. It was very Edwardian and such but not Cottage core. I feel like the people putting together the boxes didn't get what the vibes were all about.
That skirt fr gives me loght or dark academia together with that top if you styled it with darker brown tints

I work in a thrift store, I could make these packages for around 30 euros max so yeah, it's a scam. They earn fifty on it and it's cheaper to thrift it yourself
