Hi Sophie, I just wanted to tell you that I have been housebound for 4 months with anxiety attacks. I just started microdosing with psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and I believe they’re helping!! It’s too soon to tell, I’ve only done 2 doses. But I finally have hope!! Maybe something for you to look into? I don’t know about the legality over there (I’m in the US).
For the breathing ones, the thing that's important for breathing techniques is making sure that your out breath is longer than your in breath. It helps reduce your heart rate to reduce physical symptoms of anxiety. Breathing techniques do take some practice and when I first started I was recommended 5 secs in, hold for 3, then 7 out. I built up to 7, 4, 11 after a while. Not sure why you need to pay £60 for a device though. That seems very expensive for a breathing technique you can use for free...
For the first breathing one (the sort of whistle) I agree that it is expensive for almost nothing ! For the second one (the little pebble that vibrate and lights up) I can actually understand the benefit you can have from it. Since it vibrates and lights up it allows you to concentrate on specific sensations and be able to "ignore" other stimulations of the environment that could stress you out, while making you concentrate also on your breathing. Some people have trouble finding calm just by focusing on a breathing technique, so it provides an object to focus on that is gonna be a mediator to calm your breathing !
@@jujulnd Oh I agree with you that having something to focus on can be helpful for some people. My fitbit has a similar function that, especially when I first started breathing techniques, I have found very useful to help focus. I'm not saying that these devices are completely useless (I hope my initial comment didn't come across like that), I can see how both in separate ways can be very helpful. I was merely trying to say that they both seemed quite expensive for what they were (particularly the whistle one, but the pebble one also).
Another great video Soph! I've suffered with anxiety my whole life so this was really interesting. I agree with you that in the middle of a full blown panic attack these gadgets wouldn't really help, but I can see them being good for when you're feeling anxious and nervy! I like the look of the eye massager, I have a massager similar to the one you tested and it's so good, I don't want to make you cry but mine cost less than £30 from Amazon! I quite like those squishy cats too, they are so cute! 😻❤️
This is perfect timing. My anxiety has gotten a bit out of control again after a period of being "okay". I've actually just purchased the Sunflower lanyard and anxiety card for when I'm on public transport as that's when it's the worst. Also my anxiety stems from my emetophobia, and my chronic illness that makes me feel super nauseous
What really resonated with me in this video was how you mentioned about thinking you had panic attacks, but then had a proper one. It reminds me how I was diagnosed with anxiety since 13, but then was diagnosed as Autistic at 18, which was when I realised that it was actually Autistic meltdowns/sensory overload I was having, not panic attacks. Not sure if this is just a *me* thing, but just commenting in case anyone else experienced the same! Great video as always
Hi Sophie, The melo is something i'm currently using in therapy, this is a device you should use every day (if possible 3 times a day) for 10 minutes (but start with 3 minutes, after 2 weeks 6 minutes and after 2 more weeks you can go to 10). It is to help your body learn how to breath and when you get your panic attack calm your body, knowing the breathing you practiced is going to happen. I find this very helpfull and even tough i still get panic attacks, they are not that intens and ongoing as they used to be. hope this gives some clarification ^^ xxx
I learned a really good way to help with an anxiety attack is to grab a book and pick a page or anything near you that has a bunch of words on it and read it out loud slowly. It helps your brain refocus its self to what you are reading and it helps you control your breathing.
As someone with pretty serious anxiety this video was soo satisfying! Definitely gave me a few ideas too look up! I have a massage device similar to the pink one you got, I used it yesterday actually and it was amazing 😍😍 although I also have chronic pain so it helps that's too! I'm off to look for those squishy balls👀😂
Ahh Hi Bestie!! 2nd!! I found this very soothing. I’m going to have to invest in some of these products and see. Great video idea Sophie. Hope your doing well. *Hugs*
If anyone wears an Apple Watch there is a breathing app on there, I’m pretty sure it’s already on there called breath and it’s like that gadget (the 3rd one I think) and it vibrates and has circles on the screen to guide your breathing it’s really good and if you already have an Apple Watch it’s better than having to buy another thing xx
Hey Sophie, could you Film another Moon chooses my next 24h kinda Video? I really enjoy watching them :) and thanks for your Videos.. I found you last december when I wasnt feeling really good... now I have already watched nearly every Video since 2019 ... But watching your Videos really makes me happy :) ❤
Hey Sophieee! Absolutely love you and and your videos!! I was going through some older videos of yours and I found one where you used expensive beauty products for 24 hrs. I really loved that video so was wondering if you would try it out again🤭🤭 Love yahhh❤❤
I think they can help but only as a distraction. Oh and when I had a panic attack the whole breathing calmly thing made it even worse, I almost had another one more recently but didn’t have a full one, I just apparently turned green and I was very shaky.
I think so too! & same, i've learnt the best thing to do in a full on panic attack is do absolutely nothing.. just accept that it's happening, keep reminding yourself it will end and just wait ❤
Idk if it would be of any use to you but ik a few years ago fidget cubes were a huge thing and they're supposed to help with anxiety as well as ADHD. There's also a few aroma things that you can use (I can't think of any off the top of my head) but you could use a designated T-shirt and spray it with some calming spray (probably something lavender scented 🤷🏻♀️) and when you're having a panic attack hold onto it and cuddle it and breathe in the scent 🤷🏻♀️. That's what I do sometimes, but with my significant other cologne.
Do you have a link for the fidget toys please? I'm a primary school supply teacher, and I'm thinking some of these may be useful to keep on hand for fidgety children. 🤔
I AM SO HAPPY YOU MADE THIS BC I SEE THESE THINGS ALL THE TIME AND I ALWAYS WONDER IF THEY WORK 😭😭😭 but I don’t know and I don’t want to spend my $$ on stuff that isn’t going to work
Hi, I used to think I couldn't breath out for anything beyond 8 seconds, but it can be done. Look up belly breathing. Apparently many of us tend to only breath into the chest area but if you can get your belly to raise up it allows more air in, so then in turn you can breath out for longer and not feel like your going to pass out. X 🥰
I could see myself using these things at home or at office environment. I would use them more when I feel anxiety/panic attack coming on Or calming down after. Only one I wouldn't use would be the whistle.
The first one is also a lung exercise. My mom is a respiratory therapist and to test lung capacity they'll have someone breath in through their nose and breath out their mouth for 10 seconds "like they're blowing through a coffee straw" so you could also do that or use an actual coffee straw instead of spending so much money on a metal tube
Really lovely that youve checked these products for others as anxiety is such a hard thing to deal with ❤️❤️ hope you're well and thanks for this video ❤️❤️
@@sophielouuuise Literally thank you so much. I’ve had an awful day - your videos always cheer me up :) I started my day off with a bite from a ferret (I do animal studies at college haha) and then had a panic attack in the kitchen hidden away from everyone in the unit 🤦🏻♀️😭. To follow that up, I then face planted my tutors nipple so it couldn’t get any worse really 🤣 My anxiety’s been really bad all week so you showing me things I can use to help with it is literally exactly what I needed. I am extremely thankful :)
OMG WE ARE THE SAME PERSON. MY ANXIETY PHOBIA IS BASED OFF FAINTING OR SEIZURES AND IVE NEVER HAD EITHER HAPPEN BUT I GET PANIC ATTACKS FROM THEM DAILY
Never suffered from anxiety.... until my family came under fire while I have med finals next month. Though I doubt gadgets can help with that 😅 this vid is doing a good distraction technique for me🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
I hate pop its because I want to be like bubble wrap and it just isn't...but I bought a fidget cube that came with a key ring that has just to of the bubble things and I love it because I can keep it in my pocket and pop it when feeling anxious and it's quiet so great for when out and about
The shift thingy seems a bit useless, deep breathing or square breathing tricks your brain into thinking it's safe anyway so no need to buy a device to blow out of especially for 8-10 secs is a bit excessive.
You have to train yourself to use your resources even in a state in panic. I recommend doing it in a calm state so it becomes natural and kind of routine. That will make it easier to get to it during stress :)
Sophie, with the blowing out thingy, might be worth a try focusing on getting the air right into the bottom of your lungs, then blow out slowly. It’s something I learned from playing wind instruments and once you get the hang of it actually helps with dizziness. Rather than blowing out, try thinking of your breath creating a balanced pressure of air where you are just pushing through so some seeps out.
Oh that eye mask looks divine! I get very anxious and also have regular migraines and I think it might be able to help. I wish there were things you could "secretly" use in public not to feel embarassed. I started to head towards a panic attack today at my language course (after looking at a flag 🤷🏻♀️) , teacher didn't let me go out and wish I had some little toy/gadget to help in secret.
Hi, this could be unrelated but I went to my dr after years of really bad migraines, it turns out that artificial sweeteners were triggering them! This can happen to anyone but people with mood disorders (I have bipolar) are more sensitive. I cut out sweeteners and I honestly noticed the difference straight away! I haven't had a migraine since😁
🤔I mean, you don't really need a huge colorful fidget toy to fidget... I often fold and roll a piece of paper (receipt or shopping list etc), or snip my watch buckle open and closed. Clicking a pen is a usual fidget thing, though some surrounding people may find the sound very annoying... In loud environments I hum snippets of melodies constantly; humming is relaxing for similar reasons breathing exercises and purring cats are. At school coloring in alternating patterns in a square-lined notebook was a good discreet way to channel anxiety. I find creating patterns and sounds helps with my anxiety. I'm sure people who like squishy things have developed their own 'survival tricks', but squish does nothing for me so I don't know any of them...
@@TT-_- That's true. I have a lot of fidgety things but sadly many employers and teachers have expressed their dissatisfaction about these because "it creates a tense environment for us to work at". I tend to spin around my ear piercing or drum with my legs. I have to alternate things also because I have OCD and tend to pick up these things end create weird compulsions out of them 🤦🏻♀️ One thing I found great and also not noticeable for others is spinning the popsocket on my phone!
Been struggling so hard with my anxiety this week. It's currently 3am and I can't sleep cos of it. Perfect video to watch!! Love all your videos and hope your doing well ♥️
For a little bit more than 65 pounds you can get a smart watch that has breathing exercise on it and it vibrates too. It also monitors your pulse and tells the time else the time and you can set like 20 minute timer of how long you want to do this or however long
All these devices look really good but the only thing that annoys me is that these companies are making money off people panicking so they raise the prices 🤦🏼♀️ but that massage cushion looks amazing it matches your gaming chair!!! 💖💖💖
when you were saying you never had trouble breathing with panic attacks until you had a really bad one, ive heard that is the difference between panic and anxiety attacks. apparently one is more stressing, internal panicking and getting overwhelmed, where the other is hyperventilating and stuff. im not sure which way round they are but i have heard theyre actually two completely different things! x
Yeah i think what i'd experienced in the past was more of an anxiety attack! Nowadays i think i get a mixture of anxiety attacks and full on panic attacks ❤
Hey Soph, another brilliant video! I also suffer a lot with my anxiety, and I rarely had, and have, the panic attacks with the shortness of breath and all that stuff. About a year ago, while talking to my therapist, I found out that I had been having panic attacks way more often than I thought, because another series of symptoms (mainly felt like my brain was gonna explode). So yeah don’t dismiss what you thought were panic attacks before last summer. Hope you have a safe week x
As someone with hemiplegic migraines - which give symptoms that can mirror a stroke - where standard migraine medication can make them worse, the eye massager sounds perfect for coping with those awful days where sleep can't shake the migraine and I can't do anything to make things better. Thanks for this!
Try putting warm or cool damp towels on your ears during the migraine, my coworker had brain cancer and said that made a world of difference for her migraines. It also worked for me! Keeping my ears warm)
I love hearing you speak about your anxiety , makes me not feel as crazy hearing someone else go through the same feelings as me with the fear of fainting 😅 I may have to give a couple of these a try :) ❤️
Hey Sophie, My anxiety has been better but since everything going on with the Russia and Ukraine situation has made it worse and sometimes this can affect my college work. Anyway hope your staying safe and well and it is nice to see you. Thank you for this video this is very helpful 😀😍🥰
Same. I have been free from anxiety attacks for about 4 years, but the situation has brought them back :( Not as bad as before and I know how to handle them better, but still. Wishing peace and calm minds for everyone ❤️
Yeah I've found breathing exercises to be most helpful when I can use them before a full blown panic or anxiety attack. I mean 60 pounds is kind of expensive but they seem like fairly good training tools. I think they can also be helpful to ground you. Like you reach for them before/at the start of the attack and having something physical to focus on might be as or more helpful than the actual device ( though the breathing exercises are real and activate your autonomic nervous system (I think that's the correct one) to calm down). Love the video Sophie! Hope you're doing well and I'm excited to see that you've managed to start streaming again! (Even though I haven't been able to catch any bc timezones)
It's best to build up to the 8 seconds over time, and if you still can't do it then just do what you can. I couldn't do more than four but within a few months I got to 8 and I feel a lot better breath wise. you're right it deffo doesn't help if it makes you dizzy but if anyone reading this is trying to extend it then it'll happen eventually ♥️Xxx
5:10 I do a breathing technique that really helps me. In through the nose for 4, like 1 hippopotamus, 2 hippopotamus etc. Then hold for 2, and out through the mouth for 4. Really helps me, when anxiety is getting me, and or when I start feeling sick because of my stomach condition. And it's free and doesn't cost £60. I also think you was blowing too hard. Slower longer breathes this what they mean. I always use Hippopotamus to count lol xxx
I suffer from anxiety attacks and my therapist said that I need to refocus my mind when I'm in the middle of one. I use ways that she's taught me but I think that the blowey thing and breathy thing that goes in your palm are supposed to give you something else to focus your breathing. Trying to use them when you're not in the middle of an attack will stress you out more. Why don't you wear the blowey thing and if you get an attack, just slowly breathe out into it. It may well help.
i have got to say i love your channel so much. i’ve got a 9 month old and a high risk twin pregnancy 24 weeks now and on top of that with what’s going on with ukraine and russia im worried my husband might be deployed but you snd your videos help me calm down and destress. i love you and your channel so much
Hey Sophie! Love this video!! One thing that really helps with my anxiety is ice, I get an ice pack and put it on my chest, or suck on some ice cubes, and it really helps calm me down and help my chest pain go away. Definitely would recommend give it a go! Xxxxx
I think the breathing devices are more useful as de-escalation devices. My service dog does something similar by whining, shaking or licking my face when she feels my panic attack coming on. The doctors say she is getting my mind to focus on her, which doesn't allow my brain to spiral further into panic. The devices seem to be used to make your mind focus on your breathing, which would also not allow it to spiral.
I’m only about five minutes in, but I do want to go ahead and say that the first product is not gonna be useful for everyone, obviously, but it could be super helpful for others. For me, I have asthma and hyperventilating is... pretty bad for me, and it will usually just spark an asthma attack. And the breathing out for 8-10 seconds thing is actually a lung exercise that I’ve had to do since I was a child to help me with my asthma and improving my lung function, so and it’s something I still do when I have panic attacks to help me regulate my breathing and slow down my heart rate. If you’re not used to it, it’s definitely something you have to practice and build up to unless you have naturally really good lung capacity, but once you get there it can help a lot. It’s also a good method for getting to sleep, with a few adjustments. So this kind of gadget would be pretty nostalgic for me, and maybe others with similar experiences would find it very nice. At the same time though, you can get the same effect with much less expensive options. You don’t even need anything extra at all to breathe into to do the exercise.

I'm so so sorry! :( i'm glad my video is giving you some kind of distraction! sending you and your family so much love ❤
Sophie: “I really love them. They smell terrible.”
Aries vibes
hahaha! ❤
sweet i suffer from anxiety agoraphobia and panic disorder
what products do you use to make your hair look so healthy xx so jealous
Apart from shampoo and conditioner the only thing i've been using recently is the Lee Stafford 10 in 1 treatment spray! ❤
The one time I want ads and there aren’t any
Oh really! Thats annoying!! 😞❤️
Can you post the links to these products?? :D
Are there any in particular you’d like the link for? ❤️
They are the most satisfying balls I’ve ever squeezed 😭
hahaha they were! ❤
I wish I could find something that could help me 🤦🏼♀️😔
I'm sorry you're struggling :( sending you lots of love ❤
I hate pop its because I want to be like bubble wrap and it just isn't...but I bought a fidget cube that came with a key ring that has just to of the bubble things and I love it because I can keep it in my pocket and pop it when feeling anxious and it's quiet so great for when out and about
I know what you mean!! ahh that sounds great! ❤
@@sophielouuuise pushpop peanut keyring for anyone needing something quiet and discrete to help in anxious time
The shift thingy seems a bit useless, deep breathing or square breathing tricks your brain into thinking it's safe anyway so no need to buy a device to blow out of especially for 8-10 secs is a bit excessive.
Yeah that one was my least favourite of them all! but apparently it works for some people! ❤
This was so interesting for me as someone who struggles with severe anxiety and panic attacks🥰 thank you so much! Xx
You're so welcome!! ❤❤
Praying for you 🙏🏻❤️
You have to train yourself to use your resources even in a state in panic.
Ahhh okay i'll give that a try! ❤
You’re not meant to blow you just exhale slowly
Love all your videos and hope your doing well ♥️
Im so sorry to hear that :( sending you lots of love - i hope you can get to sleep soon ❤
Praying for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
For a little bit more than 65 pounds you can get a smart watch that has breathing exercise on it and it vibrates too.
Yeah its crazy how expensive these products are.. i found one breathing device that was nearly £200! 😳❤️
when you were saying you never had trouble breathing with panic attacks until you had a really bad one, ive heard that is the difference between panic and anxiety attacks. apparently one is more stressing, internal panicking and getting overwhelmed, where the other is hyperventilating and stuff. im not sure which way round they are but i have heard theyre actually two completely different things!
Thank you so much! Ohh okay interesting! I think what i used to get before were maybe anxiety attacks or very mild panic attacks ❤️
The massage thing for sure would help with anxiety! Though I feel for that price u coild get a full chair lol.
I'd love some more anxiety/panic attack related videos, your voice is so relaxing and knowing you get panicky too makes me feel less alone x
Aw of course! I’ll see what i can do!! ❤️
I love hearing you speak about your anxiety , makes me not feel as crazy hearing someone else go through the same feelings as me with the fear of fainting 😅
I may have to give a couple of these a try :) ❤️
Aw you're definitely not alone! ❤❤
Hey Sophie, My anxiety has been better but since everything going on with the Russia and Ukraine situation has made it worse and sometimes this can affect my college work. Anyway hope your staying safe and well and it is nice to see you. Thank you for this video this is very helpful 😀😍🥰
I'm sorry to hear that :( You're definitely not alone in feeling like that. Sending you so much love ❤
Same. I have been free from anxiety attacks for about 4 years, but the situation has brought them back :( Not as bad as before and I know how to handle them better, but still. Wishing peace and calm minds for everyone ❤️
Fidget toys for sure aren't just for kids. Though I guess ur right that some are aimed for kids. As someone with anxiety and adhd I love fidget toys.
Yeah I've found breathing exercises to be most helpful when I can use them before a full blown panic or anxiety attack. I mean 60 pounds is kind of expensive but they seem like fairly good training tools. I think they can also be helpful to ground you. Like you reach for them before/at the start of the attack and having something physical to focus on might be as or more helpful than the actual device (
though the breathing exercises are real and activate your autonomic nervous system (I think that's the correct one) to calm down).
Love the video Sophie! Hope you're doing well and I'm excited to see that you've managed to start streaming again! (Even though I haven't been able to catch any bc timezones)
I have the eye mask one, it’s great for helping with migraines!
It may well help.
i have got to say i love your channel so much. i’ve got a 9 month old and a high risk twin pregnancy 24 weeks now and on top of that with what’s going on with ukraine and russia im worried my husband might be deployed but you snd your videos help me calm down and destress. i love you and your channel so much
Ohh i'm so glad my videos can you give you some kind of escape & destress! thank you so much ❤
Will something falls on the floor
With my anxiety at the moment, I think I should order everything!!!! 😬 xx
Aw i'm sorry you're struggling! sending lots of love ❤
@@sophielouuuise Thank you beautiful. Lots of love back xxx
Hey Sophie! Love this video!!
One thing that really helps with my anxiety is ice, I get an ice pack and put it on my chest, or suck on some ice cubes, and it really helps calm me down and help my chest pain go away.
Definitely would recommend give it a go!
Xxxxx
Ahh yeah anything cold when i'm panicking is the best thing for it! never thought of sucking an ice cube - will try that next time ❤
@@sophielouuuise yes it really helps control your breathing!
❤️❤️
Same for me!
Omg I have an anxiety ring, and the remedy drops work so well xx
Yay i love my little spinny ring haha ❤
Amazing video!! This was especially needed regarding what’s happening in the world and personal life. Sending good vibes and love to you!! Xx
Thank you so much! sending good vibes to you too! ❤️
