      The whole ethos of modern government has changed to anti democracy.Doing what the majority want is called 'populist'.
      It was obvious that Labour is a rabid ideologically anti car use pro public transport and cycling Socialist movement.
      The Tories don't know what they are but seriously infiltrated by the former.

      @@rangersnut That's not an answer. It's just your opinion and nothing more... The WEF are not a legislative organisation, and do not have the power or authority to introduce or enforce new laws or regulations in any nation. Here in Britain, any new law has to receive Royal Assent before it passes to the statute book and becomes law. Your meaningless reply is just that, meaningless..... Please tell us all what you know and understand about the WEF and it's aims..... And these "tactics" by the wealthy on the "sheeple". What exactly would the point of those be? What is the ultimate aim of the "wealthy" people you mentioned? To me, it just sounds as though you've been spending way too long reading crap on Farcebook and Twatter.

    • @rangersnut
      @rangersnut 4 дні тому

      @Brian-om2hh Sounds like you are in denial. The WEF in Davos is where all the financial elite plan there visions for tommorows world as the wealthy want it to be. The aim is full control of what you do, what you put in your mouth, where you can go, how you get there, these technologies like electric cars can be remotely accessed. They don't want anyone to own anything. They want all the plebs(everyone that is not them) in small eco houses, working like human cattle with, no real rights until they drop, eating bio engineered foods like insects, fake meats they produce and they keep all the best of the worlds resources for themselves. The green initiatives are nothing more than an excuse to profiteer. I am all for respecting the planet etc, but it's the financial elite and their decisions that cause damage via their factories, lithium fields etc for electric cars. Their big decisions hurt the planet way more. Your average person gives back to the planet if they live, plant some plants and generally keeps their local area clean.
      I don't use twitter or any other form of social media. Many of their strategies are formed by Sun Tzu, and currently old propaganda strategy like agitprop is used to agitate the masses and turn people against each other.
      We are in an age of disinformation, where the line of information and news is fully bought and paid for and controlled by them. They have a constant window into everyones lives by the crappy platforms like twitter and others. If they can distract, confuse or cause mass fear in the masses these are all great control devices for keeping the majority under their thumb.
      They know people won't fight for them in wars anymore, so my prediction for the future us a series of global civil wars, where stock markets crash, people turn against each other and then they send in a militant force to restore order and eventually one day they will behin their new world order. The royals, the politicians are nothing more than paid puppets and remnants of an old world. Corporations and banks run everything. Behind that are families who have run the planet for generations, that is the financial elite. The real rulers of this world. You can discuss what I say if you like.
      In my view Covid was a compliance test, putting in zones in London where you can and can't go and pay per mile being touted us all a test to see how much more control of everyone's lives they can get away with. Give an inch and they will take a mile, and for every mile they take you will pay for it

      They are using green initiatives as a smokescreen to push for more control over people. They don't want most people having freedoms, the ability to travel freely and they want to know you are under the thumb at all times. Authoritarianism is being pushed as green initiatives. The rich want all the best resources and experiences sealed off and free from the average pleb, while the average pleb is like human cattle, productive for them, with barely just enough to be entertained, productive and docile and the inabikity to mive around freely. They are also coming for what we eat soon, with lab grown meats and insect diet pushed. Whilst they eat the very best of foods. Using green initiatives they will push where folk can go, where people live, what they wear, what they put in their mouths. They are coming for total control and MSM is being used to pull the wool. People need to resist and push back. The masses are a sleeping giant that frightens the wealthy the idea of people being awake to what they are doing. That is why they keep everyone divided by division politics, and why there is a constant air of issues around race, gender and any other societal string they can pull on, using the fincial elites bought and paid for news channels and social media channels.

    ICE vehicles already pay per mile, with the tax on the fuel. Fewer miles, or more economical vehicles pay less.
    Rather than add complication to vehicles, and creating a reporting system, and a collection system, the fuel can be taxed in the same way petrol is.
    Domestic electricity has a lower rate of VAT applied, as we need power in our homes for basic living. Electricity used for charging EVs should not be part of this. Rather than reducing the VAT on vehicle charging, the same taxes that are added to petrol and diesel could be added to vehicle charging costs. Easy to do on public chargers.
    For home chargers, insist that all home chargers have a separate meter, to record the electricity used for charging the vehicle. That portion of the electricity bill can have the fuel tax added, and then the normal higher rate of VAT added, just like petrol.

      I believe that all home charging installations for the last couple of years have to be separately (smart) metered. This gives almost infinite possibilities for different levels of vat and tariffs, which can be adjusted on a whim.

      Some might argue that £billions in taxpayer's money should not have been handed to the oil industry in subsidies over the decades. If it wasn't for those, your petrol and diesel would be 4 times the price it is. What's your take on that? If you take issue with the much cheaper cost of running an EV when charged at home, then get an EV and charge it at home. Problem solved! EV ownership is not exclusive to particular groups. Even you could have one. If they tried the separate meter trick, thousands of EV owners - me included - would simply charge overnight using a normal 3 pin domestic socket. That would give me 40 to 50 miles overnight, which is ample for me the following day. They wouldn't know whether you'd sat and watched TV all night using a 3kw electric heater to stay warm, or charged an EV up.....

Are the government paying all these charges. If they are it will all be going on expenses. They won’t be happy until they’ve got every penny. This is what you get with a Labour government.

    15 years ago, I read an article that said we used to work till Tuesday night to pay our taxes, now we work till Wednesday dinner. The percentage of money out of our wage that we pay the government goes up year on year. The people with the most disposable income is the motorist. Pay per mile has been discussed now for over a decade. But in orders to do this across the board they would need tracker devices installed in all cars and have the government monitor its movement and charge accordingly. This is something the government want yet there is huge opposition from the public. They don't want their every movement tracked

    Ironic that motorists, surely among the most consistent earners and generators of wealth in Britain, should be perpetually taken advantage of.
    Clearly they need their own union-like organisation and the type of influence in politics which might ensure an end to their being robbed. Indeed, they clearly need a greater influence on decision making too which is currently nothing short of vindictive.

Where will you live and work if nobody owns any property for you to rent? Where will you work if nobody owns a business? What will the government do about the £35 billion in ta revenue it rakes in from the motorist each year? And the millions of lost jobs due to the car making industry going (800'00 jobs in the UK alone there? And then there are the jobs lost in oil refineries, tanker drivers, petrol stations, car dealerships, tyre fitting depots, garage workshops, the AA and RAC motorway services etc. Millions would lose their jobs. The pay per mile will be what is in use in some states in the US, when you enter the highway or motorway, a device camera will read your number plate, then, more you stay, higher the cost will be. The goal is to make access to vehicles very expensive and limit the amount of road users.

  • @andyclarke9589
    @andyclarke9589 Місяць тому +1

    If you have off road parking (about 65% of us) and a variable electricity tariff you can recharge an EV so cheaply it works out a 2p per mile, compared with fuel costs of about 12p per mile for a combustion car. The reason car fuel duty is set at the level it is is because if it were lower car usage and traffic would increase causing ever more congestion - this is a known, not a theoretical thing. You'd have ever more people driving more often ever greater distances, living further from where they basically need to be for work, family, school etc.. If the financial constraint is relaxed we end up paying the price in terms of time - more congestion. Some form of road pricing is inevitable. The flexibility it could provide means at least it can be used to encourage journeys to be made at off-peak times, with say, zero charge one or two days a week. We need to use cars in a more intellligent way; it's nuts to charge the same for rural motoring as urban car commuting where alternatives make far more sense. Doing nothing is not an option. I not saying it will be popular, but it is inevitable; sadly, when it comes to discussing cars some people's IQ drops about 20 points, so, rant away....

    I can see the whole country shutting down. Due to the fact that the government wanted to centralise everything some years ago many people now have to commute to work. Many families are already struggling trying to make ends meet on low wages sometimes working two jobs creating further commuting. Pay by mile is going to be a tax too far which will make going to work uneconomic when they can get more money by claiming benefits. People are already depressed about lack of quality of life. They struggle with no hope of getting their own home and not being able to afford to have children. The UK is fast loosing it's good feeling factor.
