- Starhip, it flew, and it exploded. It was pretty cool. In this video I'll be showing you how to build a good looking recreation in Kerbal Space Program 2, I wanted it to be as realistic as possible, but obviously I also wanted it to get to orbit too, so maybe realistic wasn't the right word?
KSP2 without robotics also means no actuating fins, but we can work around that.

I’m not sure about this, but i used offset cargo bays as the heat shield on my version, i think those might be lighter than empty fuel tanks :)

I really loved Thursday launch it was a great achievement for spaceX and Elon said there could be a possible launch of another starship in a few months so yeah, really enjoyed it
You keep mentioning the stage sep, but I dont think that was actually the problem and I do belive that space x never send the "stage seperation command" to it, otherwise they would have cut the engines.

I did one in KSP2 I even recreated the orbital test flight. It was easy because you know why😅

Starship actually didn't wobble on the otf, it was just the atmosphere distortion that made it appear to bend.
It did bend at the end though just before the self destrutict.
@@GreenBlueWalkthrough well yeah, but that was either the fts or just the atmosphere getting too thick and after it bent the fts blew up

The sheer number of roasts thrown at Starship test flight is overwhelming, yet it feels... kinda right.
I have my own starship inspired vehicle, but I think it’ll only be useful for interplanetary missions with an ISRU when those are added.
So far, it can bring 100 tons to LKO and land safely!

To make a good starship it has to destroy the launchpad, the booster must loose about 9 engines and then it should tumble and explode long before it reaches orbit

Make is wobble with out any kind of internal struts then have it explode in mid flight before ever exiting the atmosphere. That is how to make an accurate recreation of the Starship.

Yup SpaceX just forgot to remove the internal struts. Engineers be playing too much KSP.

Step 3: install Tundra exploration and open KSP1
Step 4: done

i also clipped in a second nose cone and second set of wings so that they are also black on one side and shiny on the other, also i used a tube piece for the heat shield rather than an empty fuel tank for mass. i also used multiple small tanks rather than one big one to get the segmented rings and i made stock grid fins on the booster using those new weird frame pieces (are they supposed to be rover frames? i think they might be)
Those are all some really good ideas, with the tube though if you leave the vessel and return does it disappear? My first iteration of designs used tubes for the engine mount, and whenever I quicksave/loaded the structural part vanished D:
@@Carnasa for me the tube disappearing only happened on quickload if the end was attached to a decoupler that had decoupled. if some other part that was still there was present it stays for me
@@MinerBat oooh okay, that’s good to know and also explains why my tube was disappearing as mine was directly connected to the decoupler that separated starship form super heavy :p

If you tweaked the proportions a bit it would be perfect. The ship and booster are a little too short, making the rocket look stubby. Also, if you want the grid fins to look accurate to the real thing, attach them with 6 way symmetry and remove the extra two. They should look like this from a top down view: >O

You are correct, the superheavy gridfins are not retractable. They decided that the drag loss was negligible compared to the weight of the mechanisms needed for retraction and stabilizing.

More starship. Can you make a Jupiter III out of starships. can you make an starship derived SLS with Falcon 9 boosters ? Can you make a ring station out of starships so that people would have gravity on the way to Mars then they break apart and land.
LOL, one of my favorite vids from you now. I don't have KSP2 because my PC SUCKS, but still kinda fun to remake it in KSP1.
Don't worry, KSP2 is poorly optimized right now it sucks on my PC as well unfortunately.

One thing that NEEDS to make a return in some fashion is physics timewarp. I mean... Sometimes I like not having RCS and want to allow my craft to rotate slowly, but skip it using the timewarp!
Totally agree! Even with rcs sometimes it takes a while haha, would love to see that feature back.
carnasa's second modded attempt was worse than the real starship, it didn't even clear the tower. (you can blame the mod for that)
Starship while Landing in the water will use only the sea level engines, not all of then
