When a person is at " that place" you can't think past the overwhelming pain. I have wanted my life to end more than once this year .. I feel for your grief. I am a believer. If I didn't have faith in Jesus I wouldn't survive those dark days. I had cancer surgery and it's been a hard year. I pray you find grace in your grief. I followed music for many years prior to 1990 and there were many songs called "Hold On" that were hits. I loved them all. Ian Gomm, Triumph, Kansas, Santana. None of them reached the top 10. Then suddenly 1990 comes around and we get two monster hits called "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips & En Vogue. I was overwhelmed. But when the smoke cleared, only one of these songs reached #1 and it was that song which topped them all in my heart.

Love the story about Billy asking you out at the airport! That’s wonderful Chynna and her daughter can have these conversations about her parents. Many families cannot do this. I’m fortunate to hear stories of how my parents met and I enjoy hearing their history together before they got married.

1992 I had a spine,& double injury,couldn't walk nor use bathroom on my own. The song HOLD ON frm Wilson Phillips saved me from ending everything w my bfrnds pew pew. I was raising kids at the time and used up all my savings, & workman's comp hasn't given me a check for yrs,had no way to feed the kids. In 1998 was told I wouldn't be able to even stand on my own. There are rough days,but I do walk my dog to the park so he can play.

Because I write about those tough times, turning them into lyrics for songs that I hope people will listen to someday and be helped and blessed by them. I truly believe that it's worth hanging on to the edge of my own cliff if it means I'm building up strength in my wings to fly to the rescue of someone else's wounded heart. Chynna, do you still take prayer requests on here? I made a positive comment first. On a sad note, we recently found out my dad has stage 4 cancer. He needs all the prayers he can get. He already had five health conditions he was battling, but hearing this has upset him with overwhelming anxiety. 😢He has already gave up and says he wants to go home to Jesus. I lost my Mother 17 yrs ago, my sister 2 yrs ago and soon my dad. I’ll be the only one left in my small little family I grew up with. I’m 56 yrs old and scared myself. Anyone who will pray for my dad, I appreciate it so very much. 😢
I pray that Jesus give your dad comfort and healing 🙏

I love this song I think I was in my mid 20s and I just thought it was the most beautiful song and your voice was so beautiful. I didn’t know who you were, but I just loved your style your voice your short hair. It really framed your face and it was stylish !! it was different at that time and in my life no other girl in my area was wearing their hair like that and I couldn’t believe your features. Perfecto!!.
