  • Kevin talks to DJ of Pro-Action Suspension about how to get the most out of your rear shocks on your Harley. A short primer on shock valving and setting up the preload to get the best ride.
    Why setting the spring softer (less preload) makes the ride feel stiffer.

    I live 10 miles north of the Pro-Action guys. DJ explained it even better to me when I was getting mine installed. Front and rear. Outstanding product! Pricey, but it is the one improvement that my wife regularly comments her approval of. Highly recommend.

    Uh huh count is hilarious! I loved hearing every word of what sounded like black magic. Fascinating stuff, some of which I understood, some went in one ear, out the other, but I wouldn't change a thing. I wish I'd discoverd you before I did the full Progessive suspension upgrade I did on my bike already. While I like what they did for me and I'm not likely to change anything on it, I am thinking about another bike again...

    What's some might find confusing is.. it seems we are just jumping in the middle of a conversation, and not really sticking with a type of bike or model, at times it seems he was talking about dirt bike suspension, and short of time to get it all covered. Maybe you can schedule another on hand video (or have another video set to you) about their specific product for Harley (road bikes),

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 роки тому

      Yeah, he was talking a million miles a minute. lol
      We have developed an even better shock, so we will not be doing another video with them.
      We will have some other videos coming out on suspension.
      In the meantime, here is one that is very clear and understandable- ua-cam.com/video/N1cUpgNJ7i8/v-deo.html

    I’ve set my sag at 3/4 with me on it.Three clicks on each shock.I was making to big of changes. I really don’t know what to expect from these shocks. I was thinking plush but maybe I’m expecting to much.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 роки тому

      On these shocks, sag is not that important of a factor in adjusting the shock for the best ride quality. The part in the video where we talk about the sag...right before that, using the bumper as a gauge is better. It is also in the written instructions that you can see at the following link. Also, make sure your clicker is on 3 clicks.

    • @DKCustomProducts

      Either the Twin Adjustable 13" shocks or the PA Street Series 13" shocks. They are both excellent and will provide a ride that is vastly improved over stock. At the very bottom, below, is a link to a Report. But the short of it is that they work equally well, but the TA are made in Italy and have a 2 year warranty, the PA are made in the USA and have a Lifetime warranty...but are $300 more than the TA shocks.

      Yeah, the "new" coil over shocks HD is using on the Trikes are junk. No way to get the sag adjusted correctly.

      Not sure why you made this comment. DJ knows more about suspension than 99% of all folks riding Harley's and he did not stutter at all. He dumped a ton of good information in a very quick, New York style, few minutes.
