Hey gurllllllllll……… so sorry I’m late but I was just wondering how long your results took! I just ordered mine and I don’t feel like waitin two months. 😅
One reason why ancestry tests may not specifically mention indigenous ancestry is because they primarily focus on continental- level analysis rather than specific ethnic or tribal groups. Indigenous populations are incredibly diverse and span across different continents, including North America, South America, Australia, and parts of Asia and Africa. Each indigenous group has its own unique genetic makeup and history, making it challenging for ancestry tests to accurately pinpoint specific indigenous heritage without additional context or information.
That makes sense! As for African Americans for example from the USA. they tend to focus on Africa and Europe more than anything else and gets very similar results and countries. But they never state specifically Ghana for example it’s typically like Benin & Togo but doesn’t say if you’re from Benin or Togo and from where. But I have noticed for Europe they tend to give locations a lot more easier but it tends to be like 30 regions their ancestors could’ve came from and that could because we tend to get white relatives in Europe so it’s easier to find vs African and us being separated and everything. And I don’t see any Africans doing 23andMe since they know where they come from and who they are.
Sub Saharan means below the Saharan region/desert of inside the African continent. The prefix "Sub" means "below" as in "submarine" = a man made vessel that goes below the surface of the water. In short, 'Black African' nations (politically speaking) as opposed to the Berber/Arab North African region (Mauritania, Western Sahara, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt (sometimes)).
It all counts (even ancestory that possibly stems from those areas you seemingly overlooked - at least up to the 15min mark of this video - like East African); for, without any one of these ancestors you would not exist at all. YHWH our God brought all of your ancestors together over time to see to it that you were born (& now have the opportunity to possibly live forevermore with God). ✝️😎👍 Now, this is not to say that your ancestors came from each of the countries shown. What this tells you is that your DNA's genetic code is similar in at least some way to certain folk from these areas who were previously tested & whose respective families have lived in the respective area for two or more generations (so that there's a likelihood that an ancestor of yours might have lived somewhere in the described region). DNA testing companies are getting better at guessing as more folk test from them, respectively. With autosomal DNA testing they can pretty-much tell with reasonable accuracy from which continents your most recent ancestors came from. Some companies go back about 200 to 300 years & not long ago they did so with fairly-reasonable accuracy, continent-wise but not so much country-wise, but because the number of folk testing has been doubling about every year or so lately, they're now getting much better at narrowing one's results down to some specific countries & even to some specific area within a country. At least one company goes back much further than 23&Me with their autosomal DNA test kits (going back approx 1,000 years: with accuracy possibly diminishing the further back one goes beyond a century or two). With mtDNA kits - which females & males alike can take - one's Mother-to-Daughter Haplogroup can be determined; &, with Y-DNA tests - which only males can take - one's Father-to-Son Haplogroup can be determined. And since it's known from which string of old male & female haplogroups each modern male or female haplogroup sprung from, the DNA-savvy folk in these testing companies can start guesstimating the migratory paths of one's Maternal Ancestory back about 100,000yrs by using mtDNA testing, & of one's Paternal Ancestory back about 250,000yrs by using Y-DNA testing. Because guesswork changes as more information is gathered by a company, guesstimations will change over time (& many folk get tested because they're only interested in this ethnicity guesswork, which helps with the results of all folk tested by a company regardless of their focus*). DNA tests can't help to solve every relationship mystery, but it can help to solve many. Of course, the main strength & most accurate portion of a DNA test result is genetic matching, not ethnicity & migratory guesstimations. * = It would help out everbody knowledge-wise if companies would pool their databases, test & analyze more Snips (SNPs) in each DNA test, settle upon one - or a few - algorythm model(s) to use for analyzing the Snips, & offer every tool feature for reviewing results (like DNA Painter, Parent-1/Parent-2 Inheritance Feature, Timeline Of When An Ethnicity Entered A Family Tree, etc.)... but that's asking too much - & it could stifle competition between companies which in turn could cause a slow down in innovation (& it could be more dangerous in allowing a criminal mind to possibly gain access to much DNA knowledge from one place at one time).
African ancestry tells you who you really are. Ancestry from America keeps you from finding your true self keeping you intact to the European . Just saying do the other test

Wooww! Thank you for this! Because I was looking at all my “native American relatives” and all of us had small percentages so that makes since.
@@JustRheanna you should take indigenous/NATIVE AMERICAN test only that on focus on that

My results were similar I got 70.1% sub Saharan African an 28.0 % European mostly British an Irish ❤️💚💛 ☘️
Well heyyyyy Cousin!!!
Im 53% European 47% African

I’m .2% indigenous
My brother 1.1% and my mother 1.2%

I enjoyed your video and you are so beautiful! I took this test too and I like how much info they give! Did you take any other test?
Thank you and so are you! Yes I love the info they give too! I’m always on the app but so far I haven’t taken any other test!
You need fix the sound qualiry, it is awful. 😢
Aww sorry to see you had a hard time. Thanks for your feed back.
Haplogroup ?
lol
When you take 23and me , It shows you your X chromosome dna , What is it ?
so both of your parents are black just different shades
Basically
African ancestry tells you who you really are. Ancestry from America keeps you from finding your true self keeping you intact to the European . Just saying do the other test
You have a great mixture
Thank you.
at first when I saw you I thought you were half white half black
I can see how that looks to be true.
