wow, i tried to help the ICC community by letting them know the difference between repro cardbacks and vintage ones. I was up front about having repro in my collection and saying i don't hate the makers or anybody. My post gets deleted for "promoting repro". I then get kicked out of the group from an admin named Jeff because I told him I collect everything and that I'm a printing press operator and am knowledgeable on vintage printing. I also told him that I will no longer share my info and knowledge about printing to the ICC because my post was taken down. Its sad when the leader of this group cries NO Repro but doesn't educate his community on it. Repro will always be there and it sucks but you can't lie and say you don't have it when you do.
Brother you promoted Repro about 10 times in that post as you can see since you're commenting on this it is your that won't be allowed on the imperial commissary ever.

It does not matter if the producer states they're repro. It's the secondary sellers that are not declaring it that are the problem.

Also, 90 percent of repro are not in it to rip other collectors off. I was there in 1977/78 and I am ok with reproduction parts to complete figures or collections. IF you are going to spend thousands on a small piece of plastic, then you need to do the work. Every reputable repro figure has a tell, and they do that for a reason. Be well.

I do not have lots of money to spend on expensive last 17 Star Wars figures that sellers/collectors are jacking up the prices, Repro/Customs are a cheap alternative for collectors like me. I am more then happy to finish my collection off as how I WANT.
Hi brother I do truly understand that issue, so because of your comment I am going to build a Facebook page that will teach anyone that wants to learn how to collect a truly complete no Repro all 96 vintage Star Wars figures, with nothing but time knowledge and $100 total. There's lots of confusion in that statement brother. Repro is anything madeto look as close to the original as possible to fool new collectors. bootlegs or anyting unlicensed made in small factories whete Kenner and Star Wars are not produced or sold. The new Hasbro retro collection is marked and differently shaped and has different towels and is very easy to tell with the weaponsthat they are not vintage but it still doesn't change the fact that has grown so licenses and the right to produce any of toys. So they are not Repro they are not bootleg they are officially licensed merch.

You think the millenials are going to want to fork out for vintage Star Wars. Not many. Addicts always percieve their collection to be worth far more than they can sell it for. I'm not denying the prices out there but is the demand the same? I support repro for those who can't pay inflated prices. Now that is stealing, not the collectors who buy repro here and there to prop up their vintage figuresand round out a set, the theives are the hoarders and purists who inflate prices and yes the ones who sell repro with the vintage price tag.
I also tried to get my niece and nephew into Star Wars and Transformers but they could never find any of the toys they wanted because of GROWN MEN buying and scalping toys to other GROWN MEN. Telling you all the kids I know of are totally disenfranchised with those lines. Because of inaccessibility. So there goes your future collectors.
They float because of the materials they are made of. Collectors who can not source or afford the vintage weapons prefer the newer repro soft plastic over brittle sinkable resin. The repro weapons are really great. Not worth getting too worked up over plastic. Those who do are spiralling into their own tombs.
The old ones didn't float it was not necessary to make the change they made the molds closer to the original and they started to make them float in order to try to beat authenticity tests.
Why do they also strive to make them translucent Jason? Why do they even try to replicate ejector pin marks and artificially attempt to age them if not to deceive?
The old ones were garbage resin that snap easy. Why wouldn't collectors want decent ones. The only people being fooled are those who waste their money on overpriced plastic and fools who think of their collection as an investment. The Millenials and future generations will not care about any of this vintage stuff or pay the percieved value.

Why do they also strive to make them translucent Jason? Why do they even try to replicate ejector pin marks and artificially attempt to age them if not to deceive?
The old ones were garbage resin that snap easy. Why wouldn't collectors want decent ones. The only people being fooled are those who waste their money on overpriced plastic and fools who think of their collection as an investment. The Millenials and future generations will not care about any of this vintage stuff or pay the percieved value.

We collect vintage too. We are just not fools to waste money on overpriced action figure props when the quality ones suffice or are in some cases superior. Your analogy makes no sense.
