Another UA-camr has an interview with Houdini who was a producer on the original version of "Put it straight/Say No". Houdini talks about writing this song with Soyeon. Soyeon originally wanted this version. The song was about a person going absolutely insane from grief. Houdini and Cube had to reign her in. But when she had her chance with Queendom she remix the song the way she wanted it originally. Just like the Latata remix.
Lots of groups do this with dance practices. It's especially fun to watch when you know the member's personalities. Ateez, BTS, NCT, WayV, etc. probably all groups really.
This is one of my favorite (G)I-DLE songs ever. And one of the examples why Soyeon is my bias. To be clear, I like all of them. They all have the talent and the charisma to be world class performers. But Soyeon is a force of nature. When she's off the leash, all you can do is admire from a distance and be glad she's not mad at you.

The primary differences between the Nightmare Version and the original version are the added dance break and Soyeon's rap. Yeah Put It Straight was NOT one of my favs from the album back in 2019 but it was a fan favorite and seeing the Queendom stage and this made me bump it up my list and I really loved this, one of the BEST halloween surprises
@@ChainReactionsChannel They went for a really thematic performance of Latata there as well, I'd honestly recommend watching all of the queendom performances (including the intro which was Soyeon's fastest rap for a while) because they really put a lot of effort into making each song feel new and different, and a work of art. Classic (G)I-DLE. If you watch the show itself (avaliable on bilibili with a vpn) it shows a lot of the behind the scenes of preparing for the performances so i highly recommend it. I'm a new viewer of your vids so idk if you like looking at the bts stuff. Also highly recommend watching unpretty rapstar because soyeon killed it and it has some of my favorite raps from her.

I've been a Neverland since before the fans were called Neverland. Yuqi used to have a show called Learnway. She absolutely stole my heart. This group is top tier and definitely in my top 5. Soyeon is a gift to Kpop. She's taking a different route and it works. Her label, cube would be shutting it's doors if it wasn't for Idle. One of my favorite groups.
The denial and refusal make the pain hurts even more……. Not sure if you already know this, the song was a b-side and in one challenge in the survival show, Queendom, Soyeon decided to rearrange the song to the nightmare version for the challenge (they lost this one BTW : ) ….) Even though they lost, they still make the choreography video as a Halloween gift for neverland. Interestingly, the song are almost the same (the track in the lyrics video was from the Queendom stage), but the way they performed still make the stage and the choreography video very different….. you would LOVE SOOJIN EVEN MORE with the performance 😂😂 And the aesthetic of the original song is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT with this one……..it’s more like…”a lady with a blank face walking away with her heels, which is stained with the blood of her husband”

Great video again 🎉 good to have you back on my feed with more Idle! (Especially with the new announced EP we're getting start of july!?) The lyrics giving FULL on yandere vibes. Rena (Higurashi series) or Kotonoha (School Days) could be saying/singing this. First in full disbelieve (we've all been there) but especially the last line (which Soyeon is delivering like the GODDESS SHE IS) is something so creepy, uncomfortable, eerie... it reminded me of these anime characters that just fail to see reality if reality hurts too much. Such a great song, loved it before your analysis and was listening to it on repeat a few months ago. But with the lyrics hitting home (in a not yandere way haha) so much, this just got even creepier. And in this house we love the creeps! 😂 I also dig the instrumental a lot. Just found some A*I-generated examples of the Song with the voices stripped almost completely. Just gives the same creepy vibes 😩👌 The dance practice was fun - I could have done without the costumes because they kinda over-exagerated the whole thing sadly. The moves themselves were really creepy and the layering gave it another level (haha pun intended) of creepiness. Really a great song and another great analysis-video by you 🎉 thank you!
