Andrew are you using medium format? I'm looking to upgrade but medium format is just out of reach, in your opinion what would be a good make and model that is close.
Thanks Owen, your right the weather can be challenging in the UK at time but if it wasn't the photography would just be too easy, it's so beautiful! :)
Another great video, Andrew. I've lived most of my life within 60 miles of Jenkin Crag but never heard of it till now! It's yet another destination to explore. The views from the other side from Latterbarrow (the little tower you can see on the horizon above Wray Castle in your last shot) are wonderful, too. I am so pleased that you have obviously enjoyed your time and destinations on your UK trip.
Thanks David, you live in an amazing part of the world, as I'm sure you're aware. Glad you this one mate, and the fact that you got a new location out of it is an extra bonus. The walk up to Jenkyn's Crag is beautiful as are many of the walks around there. Thanks for the tips of there other locations, Not only is it helpful for me (for my next trip, haha), others reading the comments that are interested in coming to the area will find it valuable swell, so thank you! :)
Beautiful location. As always beautiful images. I agree with everything that you said about local knowledge. In my local area everyone heads to a couple of spots: Bombo and Cathedral Rocks. These are beautiful but have been done so many times. I generally head for the escarpment and photograph the waterfalls and rainforest which is where I have photographed some of my best images. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to your next video adventure.
Thanks John, you're right those unique shots are quite often my best image as well. I can see why people go to the popular locations, I also like to hit those locations up when I visit an area but I also enjoy just getting out and exploring the place for myself...you never know what your going to find! :)
Such a lovely set of images. The light is just so amazing and love the moodiness of the photos. Keep up the awesome work. It's great to hear your thought process and storytelling. Great video quality as well.
fantastic Andrew, many thanks. Planning a trip to the Lake District next year, with fond memories from childhood holidays there. Just outstanding stuff. Would be great to see more post processing as well as that is so key to the final image, obviously. cheers
Beautiful images again, Andrew. Thank you for sharing. I really need to set up a macro to click the thumbs up as it is most definitely a repetitive task where your videos are concerned. lol I hope you have enjoyed your visit to the UK and will come back again.
Thanks Trevor, it's my pleasure, glad you enjoy this one mate. That's is actually not a bad idea...a macro for the thumbs up! I'm really pleased your enjoying the content I'm creating here and I'm so appreciative of your support!
You got some lovely shots on this hike. I have also enjoyed the whole video series of your trip, they projected a warm and personal connection with the places you visited. You must have been busy editing all this trip footage... Cheers!
Thanks Philippe, the entire trip was amazing and I'm so glad I took the opportunity to come across and take the time to drive up to the Lake District and Scotland. The visit was far too quick though, so I hope I have another chance to come again! There's so much footage and image from the trip I don't know what to do with it all! :)
Hi Andrew! I am so far behind on your travels. I am binge watching the lot. Great times in the UK and now on to Iceland. Chance of a lifetime for you. Love the videos as always sir.
Yeah, it was a lifetime experience and I'm very lucky to have had to chance to visit both countries. I really appreacite you spending the time to go back watch the older videos James, your ongoing support means a lot mate! 👍
Nice shots, great advice on talking to the locals. I was shooting a couple of days ago, had a chat to a local walking past and he gave me a great insight to the local weather quirks, so next time I'll be better prepared.
Thanks Tim, that's awesome mate and another great example of the information you can get tapping into local knowledge. Thanks for sharing as I'm sure others will benefit from this mate!
Andrew, jaw dropping panoramic images at the beginning and the end. Really beautiful shot of the deer as well and overall a great vlog. Safe travels wherever you are off to next
Hi Andrew I've just discovered your videos and am currently in the middle of an Andrew Marr binge watch of all your videos. I just want to thank you for these, I can appreciate the effort you put into them. I am learning so much. If possible I would love to see some more of your post processing.
Wow Phil, that's a lot of binge watching, I don't think I could take that much of me. So make sure you take break every now and then. I don't want you getting sick of it and not coming back! :) Seriously though, I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos and finding them helpful!
Man Andrew you really inspire me, I live in Orlando but when it comes to landscapes I know i will have to drive out and break the binds of fear and see what is out there. Great work.
Andrew Marr If I'd known you were coming back I would have gone up to shake your hand, it's only 45 minutes drive from where I live. If you haven't already left, have a safe trip home.
Great shots again, Andrew. I can't pick a favourite this time. Local knowledge - I'm going through all your videos making copious notes for our next trip to WA, I may try to contact you nearer the visit.
Andrew, I'm loathe to publicise when we're away from home on social media, but if you wouldn't mind DM-ing me an email address I'll send you the dates - I'm following you on Twitter. Cheers, Brian
great video, brilliant images, i hope to spend a couple of weeks in the lakes next year, and have got some good ideas of places to visit from your videos
Great video mate yet again. I'm from the Lake District and it's great seeing you explore it in your VLOGS. Also, I very much agree with the advice of asking the locals for info - something I have learned very quickly here in Queenstown!
Andrew Marr that's great Andrew, glad you liked it. The rain can be quite harsh sometimes, but it's something that I actually really like about it. I think I'll stay in Queenstown until the end of summer. I think spring will make for some interesting photography!
Watched this twice Andrew since you covered two subjects I'm trying to improve - HDR & panoramas. An interesting technique I'll look forward to applying in my own images. Appreciate the hard work (and uphill trek). Loving the drone footage.
Thanks Miguel, wow I'll take two view, glad you liked it so much. Once you've been through the process of a HDR pano, it's not that hard and a useful thing to know in these sorts of circumstances. The drone is some much fun to fly and I enjoy edit the footage I capture with it!
Awesome video Andrew. I love the Lakes I used to go on holidays there as a kid before moving to New Zealand, I could easily move back there just for the Lake District, awesome scenery. Beautiful images especially the panorama. Did you see the tree behind on the crag? it looked like an interesting tree to photograph. Looking forward to your next video!! 👍👍
Thanks very much Tim, wow you live in NewZealand...plenty of landscape opportunities there. I did see the shot with the tree and ended up capturing it with my iPhone, I'll share it on Instagram in the next few days so you can have a look!
Hi Andrew, we were in Ambleside a couple of months ago on the way up to Scotland for my birthday. It makes a great half way break and a couple of days walking around taking some pics. Many thanks for replying to my last message, so few vloggers bother, and that hacks me off. Reply to your fans I say! But that's ok, you replied. What about if you did a video showing what hiking gear you use and why? I've got my hiking boots, hiking walking stick, and outdoor weather gear, but I'm sure your viewers would be interested. It's not all just about the photography! Cheers :)
Btw: I use Air8 hiking boots from Bashire, they're fantastic, I've had them for years now, they're still like new. Got hiking walking stick from Trespass, Dryzabone hat and also crocodile skin hat I got in Oz. Waxed coat as well from P.G. Field. Khyam Igloo tent, which takes more like an hour to erect, not the 20 seconds it says in the advert!
Thanks Neale (I'm assuming I'm talking to Neale, although it might actually be Michelle...its hard to tell) :) Ambleside was beautiful and I'm sure you'd join me in recommending it to anyone passing through to stop in there for a visit. As you say, it's in a great location to break a trip up on the way up north. Thanks for appreciating the reply, I'm getting quite a few now so I have to be organised so I have time to get back to everyone. It's an aspect I really enjoy about the platform, but it's becoming a balance between replying and spending time creating more videos. I definitely read every single comment hopefully I can continue to reply for a lot longer. Speaking of new videos, great suggestion about the hiking gear. I'll note that one down. Thanks also for sharing your gear, It always interesting to know what other people and and what they's recommend. I haven't heard of the boots but I'm going to check them out. Your tent sounds like it can be a nightmare, cheers guys!
Great work Andrew. I was hoping that you were going to incorporate the tree that was directly behind you at the top of the krag as a foreground element, but alas you did not. Loved you images mate, well done.
Thank you for making and sharing this video Andrew. I like the deer photo, and that you were able to have the encounter AND get a beautiful picture of it (with a telephoto lens.) You don't usually carry your DSLR in hand, right? Nor do you usually have a telephoto lens on it, from what I gather. Well, without knowing the back story as to how the encounter played out, I would say, based on some assumption, it was an intriguing, auspicious occassion for you, and perhaps for the deer also!
My pleasure Rick, glad you enjoyed this. You are right, I wouldn't normally have the camera in hand or the telephoto lens on but I was still holding it from shoot the first two images in the videos of the birds flying through the sun rays. I was blown away by the encounter as I was lead to believe it's rare to see them...I think the deer was just freaked out! As you know I also took a shot of the small waterfall in-between the birds and the deer image, however I actually took that shot on my way back down the hill. Thanks so much for your comment mate!
Hey thanks mate. I'm not joking, I am right in the middle of your Wales video, as your showing the three 'in town' shots you recommend. Unfortunately it's all a little too late for me...but I'm enjoying the video regardless! :)
Yet another great image and video to add to the series. I realise there's editing on the way through but you always appear to have a perfect understanding of the shot after finding your composition. How many shots would you typically bring back from an outing where one shot/composition is presented? Experience would certainly reduce the number but I always seem to bring back far too many!
Thanks Alan, you're right the more I shoot and experience different conditions the more of an idea I have of how the final image will look like and the less shots I have to take. It also depends on the situation. If the conditions are changing rapidly, I shoot more photos to make sure I have the shot I want. The same goes for seascapes, because it all about timing of the waves. So I might take 10-20 shots of a composition with a waves, where as when I was shooting the bird flying through the light on this video, I took one shot of the scene and checked the exposure and if I was happen maybe a few more so 3-5 shots! If the birds weren't there I probably would have only taken 3 shots. Great question! :)
I enjoyed the video Andrew. I think my favorite of the bunch was the shot with the light beam and the birds. There's just something about the birds that give a greater sense of scale, especially against the light beam in the background. It looked like there were also lots of possibilities for shots within the wooded areas too. Some of those trees and ferns looked really nice.
Thanks Ben, I struck it lucky with the birds, it was the light that caught my eye but your right the birds provide a sense of scale and another element of interest to the image. Another lucky break was they were white geese so they stood out from the darker background. I found the woodlands area very interesting as they are nothing like any of the bush we have back in Australia. I could have spent many hours getting lost in amongst those trees!
HAhahahaha! I did exactly the same thing in 2013. First a week in Scotland and went to Glen Coe, Rannoch More but also Speyside (Aviemore), Braemar etc. So then we went to the Lake District with a fantastic accomodation in the nature. Fantastic lodge with a sauna and whirlpool of our own outside. You get the pic. But boy oh boy was I disappointed. After 4 days of horror (I dislike all those stone walls peppered everywhere, the small roads where you drive 30 km/h) etcetc I jst went back. We had 3 more days, it costed at least 250 pound per day. I apologised to the kind people but went back and never regretted it...I am amazed by the great images others get in the Lake District so I am sure it must have been me. I know. But Scotland I feel spoiled me with its wilderness, great driving conditions and incredoible variety everywhere you go.... Thx for sharing this!! native? Nonnative? According to what exactly? These trees, like Sitkaspruce for instance are very native to the climate in the western British Isles. Much more so than Scots Pine which cannot thrive in the warmer and warmer climate we get. Native I guess is commonly used with history and history only in mind which seems restrictive. Also, for some reason everything on this planet can disperse or be dispersed but one species. Homo sapiens should not disperse. If a species gets somewhere via Homo sapiens it is "bad" and not "allowed", THere is no scientific sound reason for it since this whole reasoning has little to do with science and sound thinking. It has got everything to do with our builtin suspiscion on strangers in general....this has been perpetuated so many times with that it has become many peoples mantra it seems. Always saddens me greatly how a scientific field has become valueladen, ridden with double standards and opions. All things that do not belong in science at all. Well...not wnt to be negative and certainly not towards you! Hope you have a great holiday and like your video a lot! I hope to see more of your adventures!
Thanks so much of a comment, I can see you point about Scotland, it just blew me away as well. The weather while I was in the Lake District was perfect so I was very lucky. Remember I'm from Australia so being so isolated there's a distinct difference between a plant/tree that's native and an introduced species. Plus we have such a short history of European settlement in Australia so it much easier to distinguish. You're right with countries being so close around the UK, the line is much more blurred. I was referring to the American Red Woods which I had assumed were introduced from the US.
Thanks Andrew. Yes well I guess what really gets me worked up is how akin this is to what we did with humans (immigrants) and the sometimes terrible results due to having the wrong genetic make up according to some people and being not in the right place according to some standards by some people....Just look up warfarine and the Grey Squirrel in the UK....Is it really so that such mass killings with incredible pain and the complete disregard for the individuals involved is somehow ethically right and should scientist be a motor behind such actions. Etc. Let's stop there, it is getting way too negative or at least I am and it does not do justice to the joy I find in photography and your videos. I was in Hawkshead btw, lake lodges. Look how nice and to my mind cheap these lodges were. You'd think everything in place for a wonderfull holiday for the mrs and a nice combo with photography. I am glad you enjoyed the LD so much and you had nice weather. Scotland blew me away too and it is just over 1 hour by plane from me so every single holiday I am tempted! But Norway is very nearby too...and that is nice as well! I think Australia has its nice places, especially Tasmania must be great and if not your southern neighbours (NZ) have plenty to offer! Again: enjoyed your videos surely also about Buachaille etive Mor and will look at your pics more often. Cheers!
Another mighty fine presentation of the lake District Andrew, just wondering in the first two images did you use filters on them handheld ?? , more amazing images and wonderful memories of your adventures over there , cheers
Thanks Rick, I did;t this time because I was pretty tight in on the scene so the light was even. However if the scene was a little more uneven regarding the light I could have used ND grad filters and still handheld the camera, cheers!
Thank you Jeremy, the video footage is something learning and trying new things all the time. If I had more time I'd use a rail system for the panning shots but instead I do all the shots my hand. I take my time and in some case will take the footage 2 or 3 times so I can choose the best one. I'll alway work out where I'm going to start and end the footage before I shoot and it always helps if the camera you use has in camera stabilisation, which was one of the main reasons why I upgraded my vlogging camera to the Canon G7X markii towards the end of the year. Hope that helps!
Another great video. Wondering why you used bracketing vs grad filters the way you normally do. Noted that you tend toward grads and NDs whereas Adam (at First Man) tends toward bracketing. Also would be really nice to see how you did this in LR. Actually 9 camera moves or 3 with 3 each for bracketing? But once again, a fantastic video.
Thanks Mike and Tony, basically it's because I was capturing the image as a pano. I like to capture images with one shot if I can, that's why I tent to use ND Grad Filters. However I knew I was going to do a pano and you can get some interesting results when you use filters as the changes in the darker areas caused by the filters can sometime not matchup when you're moving the camera round. The scene was had lots of contrast, looking into the sun meant the tree in the foreground were dark/in shadows. If I was capturing this with one shot I would have used filters to bring down the highlights in the sky and allow me to increase the exposure to bring up the shadow areas, but because I was shooting a series of shots I bracketed each shot and merged them in Lightroom first before stitching the series together.
Andrew Marr thank you for your in depth and prompt response to our query. It does make a lot of sense to bracket when shooting a pano, something I overlooked. Having said that l'm pleased that you still use ND grads for single images as I do use them and thought that I must be out of touch!! Looking forward to your next great video.
Great video, amazing location. I love the bracketed pano work, i'm really keen to try some myself. Have you ever used a nodal slide for Pano's? Apparently they work very well, i havn't done much pano work myself, just curious, and love to see more.
Andrew, I'm curious about your choice of 5.6 and 2.8 on these shots? On the last one, my instinct would be to shoot closer to F9 and lower the shutter speed, since you were at 1/1000. Does shooting wide open landscapes at 2.8 and 5.6 give them more sense of depth?
Thanks Brad, I wasn't so much an effect I was going for but rather a practical decision. Towards the end of the session the wind started to pick up and while I still have the camera on the tripod, I was using the 70-200 at 195mm, the I was zoomed in at a distance. I wanted a fast shutter speed so the image was crisp with no blur. The f-stop at that distance had no DoF effect. It's the different shading and tones across the hill that give the image any depth. That's what I was thinking! :)
Thanks Christian. I parked the car out the back of Ambleside Pizza and walked up Skelghyll Lane. If you search for “Skelghyll Lane, Ambleside, UK” it should come up on the map. Best of luck with your trip! :)
Well, great as always, your probably tired of me saying that, but it's true. Curious, do you do much photo merge and do you do many merge and then stitch for a pano? It had quite a stunning result! Loved the birds in the first two shots, they really made the image for me.
Thanks Tim, I don't think I'll ever tire of hearing that, I'm so pleased you're enjoying the videos mate. I like to capture images with one shot if I can, that's why I tent to use ND Grad Filters. However I knew I was going to do a pano and you can get some interesting results when you use filters as the change of darkness caused by the filters can sometime not matchup when you're moving the camera round. The scene was had lots of contrast, looking into the sun meant the tree in the foreground were dark. If I was capturing this with one shot I would have used filters, but because I was shooting a series of shots I bracketed each shot and merged in Lightroom first before stitching the series together.
Hello Andrew, Been watching your videos for a couple of months now, really nice work! I was wondering if you could add the names of the tracks you use in your videos in the description? I've found myself enjoying the music more than once, and then having no clue where to search :-)
Thanks very much, I appreciate the ongoing support. I used to include the details of the songs I used on my older videos as part of the conditions of using them. A few months ago, I invested in a subscription based service for the music called Epidemic Sounds, so I didn't need to include the details anymore, however I can see how that would still be helpful. I'll add them to future videos and when I get time, I'll try and go back and add the music information to the older videos. Is there any particular video/song your interesting in?
There are so many, that I don't know where to begin. Don't worry about it :-). But I see that you began including the information in your new videos, thank you for that!
Thanks Tomas, good question...no I haven't compared the features or results to other software. I used to use Photoshop but it's just so easy through Lightroom since they introduced the tool! I might google if someone else has done a comparison.
Thanks for that Terry, I didn't try and take the F Stop bag on as hand luggage, instead I took the inside unit, called the ICU out (with all the camera gear) and placed it in a slightly smaller bag (Osprey FarPoint) which I knew was the correct size for hand luggage. The F Stop bag just went into my suitcase (checked in luggage) empty.
ive watched a lot of your videos and subscribed, i enjoy your style and informative photography technics. please keep up the good work. if possible could you list the song name, you have some of the best music for videos. thanks
Welcome to the channel and thanks so much for subscribing. Glad you've been enjoying the music, I started listing the songs at the bottom of the description. I try and get around to the older ones to add the music when I get a moment. I get all the songs from Epidemic Sounds.
Andrew, are the first photos stitched like a panorama or are they cropped long and narrow? Not sure what I’m looking at. I’m new at this and enjoy your videos. I see the other photo was stitched 9 times to make the panorama, were the other ones stitched? Right now I look at a long and narrow photos and assume it’s a panorama. So is it safe to say that when I look at a photo that’s long and narrow it’s a panorama, that’s been stitched together with a few shots? Please explain.
Hey andrew , I have you on instagram and here as well . As an amatuer landscape/ nature photographer myself , I love watching your videos and images coming to life.
You nail almost every picture Andrew.....it's joy to watch your video's and listen to the way you present things........Fantastic ! A pity that the dears head was out of focus, but then again...all the branches in front of the dear and the fact that it will run away so quickly caused that. I never captured a dear so close :-) Love your work, please consider continuing !
Hi Andrew Love your blogs UA-cam videos Im going to be cheeky now I have a Haida 150 series filter holder for my tamron 13 - 24 lens but it only takes 2 filters you can get side guides and screws for it so it will take more filters But the only place you can get them is in your home land (Australia) for around 10 - 13 dollars Aus Unfortunately they won't ship to the UK This is the check bit is there a chance you could get a set for me and send them to me Please I will PayPal you the money for the guides and screws and the postage and anything else Would really appreciate it Best Regards Derick

+Phill T cheers Phill, glad you liked that shot! :)
Great Series Andrew, I hope the next location is as rewarding as The Lakes have been.
Thank you, there were some dramas with the next location...but that's a story for another video :)
Andrew Marr no worries, there often are with photography! Weather, light, people.. All there to throw something at us.
Such a lovely set of images. The light is just so amazing and love the moodiness of the photos. Keep up the awesome work. It's great to hear your thought process and storytelling. Great video quality as well.

Again a great video, Andrew. I'm a big fan of your work, keep it up!
Thanks Hans, I appreciate your support mate.
Beautiful images again, Andrew. Thank you for sharing. I really need to set up a macro to click the thumbs up as it is most definitely a repetitive task where your videos are concerned. lol I hope you have enjoyed your visit to the UK and will come back again.

Thanks for that Phil! :)
I am learning so much from your video's. :)
That's fantastic to hear Tom, thanks for sharing your comment! :)
Andrew, jaw dropping panoramic images at the beginning and the end. Really beautiful shot of the deer as well and overall a great vlog. Safe travels wherever you are off to next
+scotty4418 thanks Scotty, no matter how much planning goes into a landscape trip, you've always got to be ready for the unexpected, cheers!
At home, in town, or in the UK, you provided good insights.
Cheers Glen, vlogging and travelling has been a great experience I hope to bring you more soon! :)
Hi Andrew I've just discovered your videos and am currently in the middle of an Andrew Marr binge watch of all your videos. I just want to thank you for these, I can appreciate the effort you put into them. I am learning so much. If possible I would love to see some more of your post processing.

+Adrian Valentine-Williams thanks so much Adrian, that sort of feedback is very motivating. Best of luck planning your trip.
Another brilliant video, I'm really glad you're enjoying your trip to the UK.
Thanks mate, I enjoyed the Lake District so much, I had to make sure I visited it again on my way back down! :)
Cheers Brian, haha if you need any help with WA, just let me know. When are you thinking of coming over?
Andrew, I'm loathe to publicise when we're away from home on social media, but if you wouldn't mind DM-ing me an email address I'll send you the dates - I'm following you on Twitter. Cheers, Brian
great video, brilliant images, i hope to spend a couple of weeks in the lakes next year, and have got some good ideas of places to visit from your videos
Great vlog Andrew. Love the light in the first couple of images. Wish we had some clouds here in the Kimberley's haven't seen any for about 2 weeks :(
Cheers Andrew, haha you might be wishing for a few more weeks. When the clouds come in the wet session, you may need to duck for cover :)
Great video mate yet again. I'm from the Lake District and it's great seeing you explore it in your VLOGS. Also, I very much agree with the advice of asking the locals for info - something I have learned very quickly here in Queenstown!
Cheers Henry, I just loved the Lake District, it certainly lived up to my expectations. How long are you in Queenstown for?
Beautiful images and a great video!
Thanks very much Marina!
another awesome video bro.. Fabulous views...stay blessed bro..good evening from India
+Anupam Roy cheers mate, the views were amazing!
Hi from Brazil..... Nice video...
+Café com Photo thank you, from Australia! ;-)
Great videos and photos. Can you do a video on how you edit your photos? All best
Thanks for that Brenton, I'm looking at put a editing video together mate, thanks for the suggestion!
Loved it mate👍🏻
Thanks mate!!!
Lol yeah it's Neale, Michelle is Aussie, she can't spell. :O
Great work Andrew. I was hoping that you were going to incorporate the tree that was directly behind you at the top of the krag as a foreground element, but alas you did not. Loved you images mate, well done.
Great images and vlogg Andrew, been watching you for a while now and love your stuff, keep it up :)
Great video as always Andrew. You captured the place beautifully :)
Hey thanks mate. I'm not joking, I am right in the middle of your Wales video, as your showing the three 'in town' shots you recommend. Unfortunately it's all a little too late for me...but I'm enjoying the video regardless! :)
Another great vlog Andrew keep it up mate
+Steve Bowden thanks for that Steve, will do mate!
hey..i am from india and i am a great fan of your work..get to learn most of the things with you..
great job...
great vlogs..
+luvy bhatnagar thanks so much for the kind words and support 👍
Genius mate.
+Matt Porter haha, you're too kind! :)
Live the channel.
Hi Andrew love your work. Your videos are also great. Have you got some tips on how you create that smooth look in the videos ?
Thanks, jeremy
Mike Calvert had exactly the same query as you, Mike. Love to hear Andrew's response.
+Tony Turner Haha, dont fear I haven't given up on filters...I love my filters!
Great video, amazing location. I love the bracketed pano work, i'm really keen to try some myself. Have you ever used a nodal slide for Pano's? Apparently they work very well, i havn't done much pano work myself, just curious, and love to see more.
Thanks Rex, no I haven't used a nodal slide, it might be interesting to experiment with one. Glad you enjoy this. :)
Great vids mate! I was wondering which song you use in the beginning?
Andrew, your panoramic images are quite unique. I like them a lot. Did you do anything with fisheye lens ?
Thanks mate, I met admit I don't think I've every shot with a fisheye lens...now there's a new experience! :)
Got it, that makes more sense. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Keep creating great content!
Thanks for sharing. I think I'm going to the lakes in October, so I tried to find that spot to mark it. I failed. Where is this?
Thanks Christian. I parked the car out the back of Ambleside Pizza and walked up Skelghyll Lane. If you search for “Skelghyll Lane, Ambleside, UK” it should come up on the map. Best of luck with your trip! :)
Andrew Marr Thanks a lot.
Hello Andrew,
Been watching your videos for a couple of months now, really nice work!
Beautiful pano Andrew! Have you compared LR "HDR/Photomerge functionality with other HDR software packages, like Photomatix?
Thanks Tomas, good question...no I haven't compared the features or results to other software. I used to use Photoshop but it's just so easy through Lightroom since they introduced the tool! I might google if someone else has done a comparison.
Hey Andrew...loving this series...quick question...did your F Stop bag travel as cargo or cabin baggage?
I get all the songs from Epidemic Sounds.
that's great actually we enjoy your photography , but we need to know the method you use when processing your images from A-Z
Thanks Moeen, I'm working on an editing video to post sometime in the future, thanks for the suggestion mate! :)
Meanwhile back home it's been a bit drafty. A couple of willy willies in the northern suburbs, a house in Hall's Head was just about destroyed.
+John Summerfield just crazy weather, stay safe mate. How did the operation on your eyes go John?
Hey andrew , I have you on instagram and here as well . As an amatuer landscape/ nature photographer myself , I love watching your videos and images coming to life.
Thank you , I appreciate the support, glad you're enjoying the videos, I love telling the story behind the images!
Nice video. :)
You nail almost every picture Andrew.....it's joy to watch your video's and listen to the way you present things........Fantastic !
A pity that the dears head was out of focus, but then again...all the branches in front of the dear and the fact that it will run away so quickly caused that. I never captured a dear so close :-)
Love your work, please consider continuing !
hey...one more question for you..when will you be doing what's in my bag..??
+luvy bhatnagar I've already done one this year - ua-cam.com/video/Yi79Yp7YdLo/v-deo.html
Looks like you've had a great time in the UK. That bench you stopped at part way up is a nice spot to sit and wait for inspiration... flic.kr/p/LWQUkG
And snap...I've got that shot! :) Your right, it's a wonderful spot to stop and take it all in, cheers mate! :)
Those 'wispy' clouds are from aircraft, its the new 'normal'
Then I guess we must learn to embrace it!
Hi Andrew Love your blogs UA-cam videos
