This is great! I really enjoy watching people like you keeping these old vintage radios going. No one would ever think of restoring today’s cheap radios seventy years from now! Good job!

It’s much nicer watching you do the repairs than ME doing the repairs as they can be a real pain in the butt (in my opinion) so thanks for YOU doing all the work and sharing it with us.

Finding bad solder connections when new parts were added always means a pencil soldering iron of insufficent wattage
was used. You have the right soldering iron that should be used especially when soldering to the chassis. Those old BED
resistors should be checked against the schematic AND a meter for accurancy of replacement. Great work redoing some
of the problems associated with this particular model.

Pretty satisfying to watch a resto like this... even though this one was already pretty decent to begin with! Keep up the great work.

Great video. I love these old radios. They are hard on resistors though. Take care! 😀

I just bought one of these exact radios, got it all cleaned up, all the tubes all fire well, but I couldn't get any sound from any channel, you have any ideas? All original resistors and caps so it might be that... Also looked messed with back in the day with a single wire running out of the back from what looks like the short wave selector.
It's a beautiful radio so I couldn't pass it up. If it can be fixed It'd get a far happier life in my collection of English Shortwaves

If its got original caps and resistors. Could be a shorted or leaky cap (s) or open resistor (s). Could be lots of things really.
