Thank you. I have hyperthyroidism and it's annoying to say the least. Heart palpitations, always sweating, headaches, diarrhea, sleepless nights as I'm always hot, always tired, weight loss, irritability, blurred vision, swollen neck at times. I'm always hot. Always sweating. Shaky hands, legs and body. I'm so tired of dealing with this. Thank you for this video. 🚨 EDIT:- I’ve been seeing an endocrinologist along with my primary doctor, my T3 and T4 levels in my blood was extremely high! I have Graves’ disease. My neck is down now and I’m on medication 💊. I might take the radioactive iodine if the meds don’t work, but so far I’m much better! Go see A doctor guys… BEST WISHES EVERYONE 💕
I'm with you, girl! I have Graves/hyperthyroidism and experience very similar symptoms to you. I've found it's an ongoing, drawn out journey to getting better. Totally here to support your journey!
I have graves disease. I was diagnose at 14 and I've been trying to fight it off for the last couple years. I'm 16 now and its definitely taken a toll on me, I wish I could just be normal. Update: My new endocrinologist says my numbers are perfect and soon I'll be able to slowly stop my medicine!! I'm also finally getting treatment for my Thyroid Eye Disease!! Update #2: Fantastic news. My thyroid is currently in remission. I officially no longer have graves disease 🙌
You’ve got this! I’ve had hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease since I was 6 years old I’m 24 now and it gets so much easier. I got the radioactive iodine when I was a kid it helped a lot but since I’m an adult it could possibly come back. Just stay positive make sure to take your meds everyday!
I possibly had it earlier but I was so young they didn’t think I had it at all and were looking for other solutions till I started having signs and symptoms.
I was diagnosed in 2018. I was so emotional 😭 before being diagnosed. I am doing much better now. I am so thankful for family support and love. Eat a balanced meal, listen to your body, manage stress and anxiety, and get rest (enough sleep) that has really helped. Update: last year, December 2022 my blood work kept coming up in normal range and my endocrinologist told me to stop my Methimazole. February of 2023 my numbers were off. My endocrinologist said I am hyperthyroid again so back to taking medication. Now December 2023 my numbers are in normal range again. I take 5mg of Methimazole daily. I feel normal and accepted my new life taking pills everyday. I don’t think this disease could ever be cured. Some months are better. Sometimes I struggle but I always take my meds.
I was 11 years old when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. To give you some time reference, I am now 63 years old and there have been times when I wonder how I have survived this long. I went to the UCLA Children's Clinic and was under the care of Dr Barbara Lippe. I was told that I would be cured with Tapazole in 2-3 years. Within two years, the bulging eyes with the wild staring look disappeared and the goitre became less pronounced but 3 years passed, 4 years passed, 5, 6, 7...and I still had thyroid antibodies. I still do. I am now underactive. I really don't think doctors have a real clue what is going on with Graves Disease. To be told my condition would be cured within such a short space of time was a cruel joke.
I’m surprised they didn’t try to rip your thyroid out or make you drink the radioactive poison. Like you, I just persevere and hope that at some point it goes away, hang in there, it’s a biatch…
@@indiantiger699 What I read is that it's treatable, in extreme cases they have to remove the thyroid so you would be dealing the opposite condition which is hypothyroid for the rest of your life.
I was recently diagnosed. Reading these comments, I must say I'm at least happy to hear it is treatable and hopefully won't ruin the rest of my hopefully long life. It's a rough thing being diagnosed with any disease. There's the feeling of anxiety that in this case is even escalated by the problem child thyroid. If you read this, just know it gets better. It has to. Modern medicine can work miracles. Trust yourself, trust your body, you will get through this!
@@tashiemackied5051 Hey, you've got this. It gets really tiring at first, keeping up on whatever treatment you're using and all the tests, but it is manageable, and it shouldn't impact the rest of your life too negatively if the pills take effect. Staying positive is the most important part of it all!
I'm currently in PA school and use UA-cam to supplement learning. I have viewed literally hundreds of videos on a variety of medical topics. This is outstanding. I will keep an eye out for future videos and will tell other students about your vids as well.
I am diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and graves disease after i experienced a "thyroid storm". I thought i was gonna die due to palpitations, tremors, swelling in my legs and insomia. I am now on meds and hopefully will be able to bounce back to life. Thank you for this video i will share it to people that doesn't understand what hyperthyroid is. Bless your heart.
Im with You ! I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and craves after a storm at the end of June that send me to a coma. We will get better I pray for us.
Did you ever get the heart to balance back out? I just found out I was severely hyperthyroid. It's been a week or so on new meds and it's a lot better but my heart still races when I stand up or do anything physical. I was physically fit 2 months before this. Now I've lost 30lbs in the last 60 days because of this. I just want my life back.
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with GRAVES DISEASE in 2020 and I have tried everything I could to heal myself, but it was all to no avail, until I saw a post on a health forum about an herbalist preparing herbal medicines to cure everything type of diseases. including GRAVES DISEASE , at first I doubted it was real, but decided to give it a try, when I contacted this herbalist through his email and he prepared me a herbal cure for GRAVES DISEASE and sent it to me via the delivery service of UPS from the company, when I received this herbal cure. , gave me step by step instructions on how to apply it, when I applied it according to the instructions I was totally cured of this deadly disease within 2 months of use, I am now GRAVES DISEASE free, all thanks to Dr. Joshua Ighalo. In my experience, the first two lines of treatment were not discussed as an option. Only radioactive iodine was presented as a possibility although I was advised to have mine surgically removed, even before doing a biopsy. I was told I probably had Grave's disease but after removal they said I had a lot of nodules on my thyroid that were precancerous. After that, I moved and so had to find a new endocrinologist. To this day, I don't really understand what caused the very sudden and severe hyperthyroidism at 19. It was explained to me that my problem wasn't going to get better, they were worried about my heart rate and my not sleeping for several days, plus I was delirious and paranoid at that point, so every doctor I encountered made it seem kind of urgent. But I never heard the term thyroid storm or received overnight care. They just got me in to have it removed a couple days after they got my blood results and did an ultrasound. This seems weird to me now after watching your video and learning how it is usually handled haha
My dear its better they removed it, I hope you are feeling better now? You dnt want to know the stress involved if they hadn't removed it, just continue taking your medications you will be fine 😊🙏
I was diagnosed today and my early signs are myedema ang slightlt bulging eyeball. Dr also prescribed me carbimazole and asked to comeback 4 week later for another blood test. Thank u this is very helpful
I was misdiagnosed with Graves disease and was at the point of thyroid removal and a lifetime of maintenance medication. Found an article by 2 MDs at the Texas Heart Institute entitled Misdiagnosis of Graves Disease Due to Aspartame Poisoning. I started reading labels and removed aspartame from my diet (it's in everything "diet") and symptoms completely disappeared within 60 days.

I've got Grave's and would recommend avoiding iodine (seafood, yoghurt, baked potatoes). Start taking magnesium supplements to help with fatigue. It's not just your muscles but your entire nervous system that's fatigued. I've tried many different supplemants and it's the one that I instantly felt an improvement in my condition after taking it.

My daughter is 4 years old she has had a fast heart beat for awhile now and every Dr even her pediatrician has never seemed too concerned. I have always always stayed very concerned as she is my baby and I am extremely intuned to her. She recently had a procedure done and they were concerned because her heart rate was fast even her blood pressure was high. After blood work came back they came and told me that she has "high thyroid levels" I have never had to deal with anything like this and she has been extremely healthy and happy all her little life so I was shocked (still am) the endocrine Dr evaluated all her tests and called me just yesterday and said they would like her to start on 2 different meds. Again, this all new for me and to even have to hand her a pill to take just breaks my heart. This is only day 3 after hearing of this news and I have been an emotional wreck and having such a hard time coping with this. We are taking her in to see her pediatrician today (per their request) and go from there. Is there anyone that could give me some advice or send some good vibes my way? I'm so upset to learn this about my baby girl.
Like I’ve mentioned in another comment your not alone. Im the same way I’ve had hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease since I was 6 years old possibly earlier but they didn’t think I had it since I was so young. I got the radioactive iodine done when I was younger. Im 24 now and its possible came back not sure have to hear from the doctors but just stay positive it honestly gets so much easier but with the iodine medication I took to treat the Graves may come back after 10 years which it has been but I’m staying positive myself making sure to never skip the meds!!
My daughter's hear rate kept getting written off as nervousness for being at the DR or hospital. I KNEW it was too high and my daughter wasn't THAT nervous! We are the best advocates (and sometimes only) for our children. I pushed for testing after noticing more changes and buying a device to test her BP and HR at home with the results as my ammo. You've got this. Your daughter is lucky to have you by her side to be her voice and concern and to make things happen! (PS, in Canada, "free" healthcare but to go above and beyond or investigate something not immediately killing you, you have to PUSH and sometimes fight) You got this, Mama.
I just got diagnosed with this today on top of what feels like 100 other problems I already have, like POTS. I feel like every time I go to the doctor they diagnose me with something new I’ve never heard of 😒 Very informative vid thank you
You should look into autoimmune disease, I had like 20+ symptoms (anxeity, asthma, IBS, insomnia, etc) but was able to get rid of almost all of it by not eatting gluten, dairy, soy and doing less grains. I did the autoimmune protocol diet and it pretty much saved my life. It sounds like you might have some autoimmunity stuff going on, there's hundreds of dieses and symptoms that can be from autoimmunity. Might be worth looking into!!
And get t4 and t3 tested every so often or if you feel funny. I had my thyroid killed with radioactive Iodine 20 years ago. Then took the same levothyroxine dose for 20 years and felt great. All of a sudden became severely hyperthyroid again on that dose. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me for 2 months. Kept saying it was anxiety and tried to give me antidepressants. Turns out my tsh was 0.002. And I had already lost 30lbs since I first went into the ER. Get your tsh and t4 t3 tested before you ever go on anxiety or sleep meds. How are you doing now?
I just found your channel today and I’ve been incessantly watching your videos. I love that you don’t have to be in med school to understand your videos, but it does help to have some background in medicine. They are a little more technical, and give a bit more information, than what your typical layperson would understand.
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism when I was 29 years old. I was a mess, nervous, anxious, panic attacks, sweating, itching, hand tremors, weight loss. Went to an endocrinologist who put me on beta blockers, then had radio active iodine. Within in two to three months I put on 12 lbs. The hand tremors stopped..ETC… Am now 69 years old and feel great. No more high blood pressure, no more anxiety. Although I weigh more I feel 1000 percent better than I did in my 20s. I am now hypothyroid I was on Synthroid for 39 years have now switched to the generic / thyroid now because the Synthroid was getting to expensive. So far I do not feel any difference.
This is by far thee best thyroid explanation video i have seen thus far the visuals along with the ability to easily relay the information in such a calm projecting voice was everything i needed you are truly a breath of fresh air for me especially being newly introduced in the thyroid community hopefully it was all viral for me at least that’s what my doctors seem to think because I had no symptoms and was exposed to a viral infection from my grandson so he only prescribed ibuprofen for the pain and after about 3 weeks my neck went down and the pain disappeared of course I’m set to see a specialist to be sure I’m just hopeful that it was just viral but if not i have some amazing doctors I’m currently seeing
I just got diagnosed with Graves' Disease. This video helped me understand it much better! Thank you! Thankfully I never had to deal with the bulging eyes or skin condition, but the anxiety, insomnia, overheating and weight loss plagued me for a long stretch of time before I finally got health insurance and saw a doctor.

I just got diagnosed with this yesterday, and for some reason I was just so sad- im currently 15 years old and everyday I felt as if I was lagging behind other kids in my school- not even being able to walk up the short stairs without hyperventilating, feeling as if I'm about to faint- and sweating so so much? My heart rate had also gone over 160+ even when resting normally but I thought that was the same as others? my eyes and neck had also been protruding but I had never thought anything of it because it seemed so minor? my appetite had also extremely increased but compared to what I was eating I never did seem to gain weight (I thought I just had great metabolism)- this video has taught me so much and I feel happier knowing what my body is going through, the initial shock is still there as I've always seen myself as pretty healthy- I think I just cried for a whole day because I felt I was too young for this and taking medication and undergoing ultrasounds and always having to do EKGS made me feel scared- but I'm now very aware and will be careful in the future- its only been a day but I feel as if my heart has definitely been going slower after taking pills and I'm excited to feel better! thank you♡♡♡
Same.....I literally had tears reading this....I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a month ago......before I was diagnosed,I had horrible anxiety, low feeling ,high heart rate, palpitations, bulging eyes.....and I used to feel so tired doing things which I used to do easily before this happened......I used to feel sad and I first thought it's because I have become a bit lazy in quarantine or something......but then I started feeling anxious 24×7 then I doubted that it could be something else.....and then this unexpected diagnosis happened....iam currently on medication now....but I don't want to be on medication for lifetime.....iam trying to change my lifestyle and hoping to be of the medication soon......how are u now??
@@kittypaw7302 sorry it's so so long!!! I'm so happy I found someone I can relate to here in the comments section ^-^ !! honestly, like you said, everything that everyone else found easy just became so hard and frustrating for me- I felt as if there was something wrong with me, but I never thought it was anything medical :( getting diagnosed made me feel happy because my sisters, my friends had always told me that I was struggling just because I was way too unathletic and such- no one had really thought it was anything that related to my health severely- but then after getting diagnosed- while I was relieved that I could have a solution- it made me feel like all the sick kids I saw in movies or in shows, and i started to feel as if I was one of them- and that scared me somehow? I remember when I got diagnosed- I just had never seen my mom cry so much and it broke my heart :( she was really the only person who had stuck with me and had listened to my problems- and she's truly the most important person to me 💓 I'm grateful that I don't have thyroid cancer or anything too extreme but having to take pills and having to have appointments makes me feel a type of strange feeling I don't how to describe? I truly hope it doesn't evolve to anything and that we both are happy and healthy! As for me- its only been one day since I've started my medication-but my heart rate has gone down from 170 to 88! I feel really excited, but none of my other symptoms have gone away (like excessive sweating etc) and I'm just reminded that this will take a while to go away and all i can do is wait :( I have to take a week off of school so I can get my health up to par, but I'm really hopeful and expectant for the future ☆-^ I really am so excited for the both of us to get healthy and im sending you all my love and wishes!!! ♡♡♡ I cried so much because I felt like the universe hated me somehow- now I'm excited to get healthier- but i wish I could speed up this whole process ._.
@@rem6093can relate to u soo much🥺...thanks a lot!... Sending u all the love and good wishes too!.... before I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism,I was used to feel really tired and anxious all the time,my eyes are bulged too....I remember during group dance rehearsals,I wasn't able to focus and I literally didn't have any energy to do the dance steps, still I did it...but I was not able to give my best, I really felt sad at that time, I thought that this was due to my laziness or something like that......I really felt low that time like what's wrong with me.....even during a trip with friends,I was getting tired all the time....so instead of coming back home happy and afresh,I was crying and feeling bad ......I never imagined that it could be a medical problem.....when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism,my mother cried a lot ,after coming back home,....I assured her that everything will be alright soon... Positive outlook is what that's going to help us right now......crying or negative thoughts won't help at all.....here school is online right now due covid-19 outbreak,so Iam able to attend the online classes and focus on my health as of now....so iam feeling ok,though not completely and heart rate is between 80-85 bpm Hopefully we both get out of this soon....it's like whole life changed in instant, but hopefully very soon now we both will be completely alright ❤️....I can't wait to live my life afresh and with energy!
@@dreamchaser6305 Did you do the radioactive Iodine treatment yet? My doctor advised me too but the more research I did the more I decided it wasn’t for me. I was diagnosed with "probably" Grave's disease - my docs didn't seem to want to commit to the diagnosis - last Dec. I have weight gain instead of weight loss. And my carbimazole took 5 months to normalise my T4 levels, but even that was temporary. My T4 has since increased and not normalised again. These make me worry that what I have is actually different or more severe. I get a diff doc each appointment (this is how it is where I'm from) and some conflicting info makes me feel I can't completely rely on any of them. But at least thanks to this vid, i know more and fortunately my symptoms are not the worst case scenario.
I just got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in the last few days from a cautionary blood test. I thought I was just developing really severe side effects from my antidepressant and wanted to get off it. Turns out, this is what has been plaguing me the whole year. I fit the vast majority of the symptoms. Muscle tremors and weakness, significantly worse mental health, terrible sleep and sleep patterns, constant tiredness, heart palpitations, a racing heart (my resting heartrate at the doctors today was 103) and tinnitus. Problem is, I didn't really have the unexplained weight loss so it went under the radar. I think probably from a combination of my antidepressant (which has messed with my weight before), an ongoing knee injury, and it making my pre-existing depression and anxiety much worse (as well as the energy issues). I was struggling just to get up everyday and sleeping all day. And eating whatever I had around me. So, I think it was left to get pretty bad. The doctor was very surprised on the phone with lab at the results, and immediately checked my pulse, made me get an ECG and have my blood pressure taken. Then I had to immediately go have an urgent blood test and an ultrasound. I don't know why, but I've just been put on propylthiouracil to begin with by the doctor instead of carbimazole. I don't think I have any of the conditions in this video though. I was told by the GP from the ultrasound report that I more than likely have autoimmune thyroiditis. But I'm in the early stages, where it's presenting as hyperthyroidism. And that overtime I might switch to having hypothyroidism. I now have to book into an endocrinologist though for it to properly diagnosed and treated.
@@DAEDRICDUKE1 Thanks for asking :) I did have silent thyroiditis (which is generally temporary) but when I failed to get better I was diagnosed with another hyperthyroidism condition called Toxic Multinodular Goiter as well. I'm an unusual case though. The vast majority of people with hyperthyroidism, especially younger women, just have Graves disease. I am basically a statistical anomaly. It's been pretty difficult getting my levels under control honestly. It took months for me to get diagnosed fully. I had a radioactive iodine treatment but had an uncommon reaction which made my hyperthyroidism even worse for a while and I wasn't responding well to medication. I think my levels are beginning to get better but it's really a waiting game to see if it's worked completely or not. In the meantime I take a stack of medication for it. Thyroid problems, especially hyperthyroid conditions are really finicky haha I hope you are well. If you have a thyroid problem and/or have a question feel free to ask me and I'll try to answer it. It's one thing to hear about a condition. But it's pretty different living with it :)
Are you worried that your treatment will eventually leave you with hypothyroidism? I'm scared of having that more than hyper. It sucks but that seems worse!
How are things now? I was told I had anxiety for 2 months and they kept trying to give me antidepressants, in and out of the ER. Lost 30lbs and turns out I was severely hyperthyroid. Started to sleep better now, it's only been a week or so but my heart still races when I stand up or do anything physical
Im really scared i visited my doctor cuz they did blood tests he told me that my thyroid glan was a little abnormal and i didnt have to worry about it then he gave me an appointment but its really long i think alot so idk how im gonna deal with this i really wanna know if im good but i guess i have to wait im young still im 18 and i dont wanna deal with this the only symptoms i got were loss of weight but i think thats becuase i got braces i feel good sometimes i do feel depresses but nothing else idk what to do

I just started those meds too! I'm dealing with hyperthyroidism that's been causing rapid heartbeat, out of breath, exhausted, hot flashes, insomnia, and extreme weight loss. oh my god me too, i’ve lost 20 lbs in 2/3 months, and i have to wait all the way to the end of the month for an endo appointment and i just feel it getting worse
This sounds like what my dad might have. All of a sudden his anti-anxiety medication stopped working and his anxiety skyrocketed. He has to have an AC blowing on him at all times. He dropped 20 lb in 3 months without even trying despite being 80 years old and having an extremely carb laden diet I'm not exercising at all... he should by all means be gaining weight,..also when I looked at his blood pressure readings, some days the pulse rate is normal and other times it's almost twice what it should be and I hadn't really thought much about that part because I know he gets angry and thought maybe his pulse rate had doubled because he was upset about something when he took his blood pressure, but putting all these things together it looks like this could be his problem so I have contacted the doctor and requested a TSH test as well as t3 and t4. I hate to say it, but I kind of hope this is what he has because we have been going on 3 months now with no end to this anxiety in sight and it has been literally insane! It's Disturbed everybody's lives and he is straight up miserable because the anxiety is so bad! And none of the seven or eight different medications they have given him has worked. So I'm really hoping it's his thyroid and it somehow managed to fly under the radar for this long without it being checked. I do know in 2017, they detected a nodule but didn't think it was a big deal at the time so nothing was ever done about it. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Hi, I know what he's going through. I lost 60 lbs carrying my last child. The anxiety is so debilitating. My thyroid was hyper, I took RAI uptake they killed my thyroid basically, it's so small now. then I went to hypo and leveled off a bit and now it's going back to hyper. I have extreme sweats, no sleep, depression, fatigue.... but I am pushing myself to work out, bike, and hike. I will not give into this. I don't think they know what my thyroid is doing. I am told I have Hashimoto's and then told I have Graves. I will tell you to do this one test. ANA to see if your dad has the antibodies. I tested positive and had high titers of 1:1280. God bless. Please tell me how he's doing. Thank you.
yes I was diagnosed with both today I received my results, hypothyroidism and graves disease. But I have suffered with heart problems, severe blood disorders, severe fatigue, I was once labeled disabled, is hard to find thyroids because they have to be active for it to be positive, so I was never diagnosed but my organs were crazy, now we know the problem. Is scary man.
10:00 I had a thyroidectomy, however I was told that my other thyroid glands would take up the slack afterward. It's been 9 years so far and I feel normal.
@@thestonedraider4266 Nope, he’s right. When you have hyper is because ur T3 and T4 hormones ain’t providing a negative feedback on TSH, as they aren’t being produced and secreted properly, resulting in higher levels of TSH. ^^
@@thestonedraider4266No, in hyper you will see a low TSH because of the negative feedback loop going to the pituitary. So the pituitary isn’t gonna make TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) if you have too many hormones. It’s gonna want you to stop making T3/T4, so it’ll stop making TSH. Vise versa for hypo, it wants you to make more hormones so it’ll throw lots of TSH at you. (I’m a nursing student with hyperthyroidism 🙂)
The hyperthyroid phase will induce a decrease in TSH levels from (-) feedback from high T3 & T4. TSH will be high in the hypothyroid state. I think the original poster got confused with where the decreased TSH was written next to the hypothyroid phase, even though in the video he clearly said the low TSH came from the hyperthyroid state. Listen everyone don’t just look
It could be, Sub clinical Hyperthyroidism or she has the antibodies of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.. I have Grave's Disease so far my weight loss is about 45 lbs. and i am getting Radioidine Therapy this coming Wednesday..
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 3 years back..but suddenly my thyroid levels fluctuate and i'm currently dealing with hyperthyroidism (Graves Disease+ Toxic diffuse Goiter+ weight Gain) .. Diagnosed on May 2022... The symptom I got was 'easily getting tired' and right now after a month, My eyes aren't that open like you know😭👀 and I've been drinking a medication and I've been doing well.
Thyroid issues are rife in my extended family. My niece has hyperthyroidism with bulging eyes. She refuses to take medication. She has had it since childhood and is 39. My question is, she is overweight. How can this be with hyperthyroidism?
I'm 19 and have some symptoms like tremor, fast heartbeats, mood swing, nervousness, anxiety etc. I thought most of due to being teenager but now i am not sure if i have hyperthyroidism or only essential tremur with some anger issues.
Nightbot you might have a vitamin B-1 (thiamine) deficiency. Magnesium is an essential co-factor for absorbing thiamine. It helped me tremendously with body pain, anxiety. It's common for a person who is increasing thiamine intake to feel an odd, brief flutter of the heart just momentarily . In my case the pain relief it brought was sudden and stunning. If you're short on thiamine your body's "electrical system " won't work well.
@@pascalg1656 I had some tests after that. Well all was good. Tremor reduce since i cut the caffeine though. I used to drink two cups of dark Americano or energy drinks almost everyday.
I refused the radiation and was put on a med for a while which was then withdrawn and it shocked the thyroid into a remissive state. That was 2 decades ago and tho every so often it borders hyper again it usually goes away after a couple months. I was feeling it linger and I started carnivore elimination diet and it went away almost instantly...along with my anemia and a load of other issues...I still have lingering problems but for the first time ever EVER I have HOPES of becoming fully healthy!
Thanks so much for the video. My daughter is 14. She has recently diagnosed to have hyperthyroid. Before that she couldn't sleep at night but she woke up late. Recently she has also been experiencing fatigue. We live in the UK. My mother in law, who passed away during the second lockdown, had the thyroid problem before but she was told to remove it probably 20 years ago or longer. Of course, given the advancement of modern medical world more options are available. We were asked if our families have it before. I am wondering if these can be passed on generation after generation? Besides, her heart rate is really high. I measured it using my smart watch and recorded over 120 per minute and she was not doing any sport activity. What is a normal heart rate for a 14 years old? What above rate is considered dangerous? Or even life threating? Many thanks if you could let me know more things we need to be careful.
Am 32, I had hyperthyroidism surgery in June and today am 3 weeks pregnant. Am very scared because I got pregnant after 4months and 1 week after my surgery,
I was recently diagnosed because I had to get a second opinion from a different doctor, mine has been totally ignoring every plea for help telling me its just depression. After the test results came in my doctor just told me it's my problem and I can tough it out. So I'm dealing with that currently.
I finally. have answers for some of my questions, but being hyperthyroidism, I have lost so much weight that I am exausted all the time. Need more advice on gaining weight back.‼️🤔🤔 I
I have lost a hundred pounds ): I miss my chubby body so much. Everyone keeps congratulating me but I want it back.. I also don’t have insurance. Gonna use my stimulus to finally get a diagnosis and some treatment.. I just hope I’m not too late. Good luck on the weight gain. If you find something that works and is healthy, please let me know!!
@Specs A. hey, I didn't need insurance, I was from another country and was broke , I got on a program and saw some of the best doctors. Talk to the financial department in a hospital or go to an emergency room.
Can you have graves diagnosed and have no symptoms? Or opposite symptoms? Can a neck injury also stimulate or influence the thyroid gland? I have weight gain, no eyeball bulge, no myxoedema, no tremors but i was in a serious car crash that i still have pain from, including neck and back injuries. One doc said graves another said get a second opinion. Just curious
So I'm in meps and I got turned down twice because my temperature was over 100, I googled why I felt like this when I'm not even sick I came to this I really hope I don't have this because it will delay my time to get into the military 😭

Didn't they operate on you?
Doctors are also not taught nutrition.
Well done! I´m an Endocrinologist and I think you´ve explained the topic very well. Congrats!

Please I have a slight bulgy eye ball due to hyperthyroidism, how can I revert this doc.
Is hyperthyroidism completely curable or will it be a problem all my life?
@@indiantiger699 What I read is that it's treatable, in extreme cases they have to remove the thyroid so you would be dealing the opposite condition which is hypothyroid for the rest of your life.
I was recently diagnosed. Reading these comments, I must say I'm at least happy to hear it is treatable and hopefully won't ruin the rest of my hopefully long life.
It's a rough thing being diagnosed with any disease. There's the feeling of anxiety that in this case is even escalated by the problem child thyroid.

What did your blood tests show if I may ask?

Hope your daughter is doing better now

And get t4 and t3 tested every so often or if you feel funny. I had my thyroid killed with radioactive Iodine 20 years ago. Then took the same levothyroxine dose for 20 years and felt great. All of a sudden became severely hyperthyroid again on that dose. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me for 2 months. Kept saying it was anxiety and tried to give me antidepressants.

I remember when I got diagnosed- I just had never seen my mom cry so much and it broke my heart :( she was really the only person who had stuck with me and had listened to my problems- and she's truly the most important person to me 💓
I'm grateful that I don't have thyroid cancer or anything too extreme but having to take pills and having to have appointments makes me feel a type of strange feeling I don't how to describe? I feel really excited, but none of my other symptoms have gone away (like excessive sweating etc) and I'm just reminded that this will take a while to go away and all i can do is wait :( I have to take a week off of school so I can get my health up to par, but I'm really hopeful and expectant for the future ☆-^
I really am so excited for the both of us to get healthy and im sending you all my love and wishes!!!
Positive outlook is what that's going to help us right now......crying or negative thoughts won't help at all.....here school is online right now due covid-19 outbreak,so Iam able to attend the online classes and focus on my health as of now....so iam feeling ok,though not completely and heart rate is between 80-85 bpm
Hopefully we both get out of this soon....it's like whole life changed in instant, but hopefully very soon now we both will be completely alright ❤️....I can't wait to live my life afresh and with energy!

From what I’ve seen/read after the treatment it’s very likely I’d develop hypothyroidism ( under-active thyroid) So the way I see it I’d still be having to take medicine either way. Thank you for being so encouraging!
At present I am going through treatment for hyperthyroid and I found this very informative.
How are things now?
Thyroid problems, especially hyperthyroid conditions are really finicky haha
I hope you are well.
Im really scared i visited my doctor cuz they did blood tests he told me that my thyroid glan was a little abnormal and i didnt have to worry about it then he gave me an appointment but its really long i think alot so idk how im gonna deal with this i really wanna know if im good but i guess i have to wait im young still im 18 and i dont wanna deal with this the only symptoms i got were loss of weight but i think thats becuase i got braces i feel good sometimes i do feel depresses but nothing else idk what to do
Nursing student here and this was awesome !
I was diagnosed 2 days ago. And for all of you with graves anxiety who are looking for reassurance...I took my first dose of meds today and it's been 5 hours. Nothing bad happened. Take the pill! You'll be fine.

I'm sorry to hear this ,i got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and graves disease in 2018 after struggling with severe weight loss ,heart palpitations and hunger issues , i didn't take medication seriously and that led to a thyroid storm that almost took away my life.
I started taking medications once again ,my weight is still fluctuating but the quality of life is better.
Sometimes i feel tired ,chest pain and sometimes cant swallow saliva or take sugary food ,it makes my saliva very sticky , been experiencing anxiety and panic attacks , feeling suicidal and my life is generally terrible.
Its through the grace of God that I'm alive and i don't know what to do anymore.

I just started those meds too! I'm dealing with hyperthyroidism that's been causing rapid heartbeat, out of breath, exhausted, hot flashes, insomnia, and extreme weight loss.

I am pretty sure your dad having hyperthyroidism. Hope he get well soon
Thank you.

Hypo or hyper?
10:00 I had a thyroidectomy, however I was told that my other thyroid glands would take up the slack afterward. It's been 9 years so far and I feel normal.
Did you end up with hypothyroidism after that?
Mucha gracias por la información, desde Perú.
U made a mistake on the quervains slide. Hyper is low tsh and hypo is high tsh. U had it the other way round.
Your wrong dude hyper is excessive hormones and hypo is decreased levels.
@@waisaaahe never said elevated tsh, he said elevated hormones referring to T3 and T4
The pituitary gland controls the thyroid production.

Bro this is exactly what I have. Did u find out?
Nightbot you might have a vitamin B-1 (thiamine) deficiency. Magnesium is an essential co-factor for absorbing thiamine. It helped me tremendously with body pain, anxiety. It's common for a person who is increasing thiamine intake to feel an odd, brief flutter of the heart just momentarily . In my case the pain relief it brought was sudden and stunning. If you're short on thiamine your body's "electrical system " won't work well.
