Cool product. Thanks for making the video. I would double check the Ah you entered. I think 1200 Ah is 4x what 2 LA batteries could possibly have. Maybe 1200Wh? The Hub wanted Ah, quite different than Wh. It would appear 1200 Ah would lead to over charging. FYI, double check before letting it complete a cycle. I love the product because it shows all on one screen, and looks like you could install several shunts. With multiple batteries on my boat build, I think this device is bad ass and could allow me to monitor all systems affordably. Cheers! and Safe Travels!
All that telemetry is Well beyond my capabilities, excellent work, JA Dudley! Nice to see you guys have star link working for you I think that’s gonna be one of the last things to finally get shut down in the event of something catastrophic
I wonder just like everything once you get in high elevations the functions can be off by a bit. Just like cooking in a higher elevation driving in a higher elevation, solar and battery functions in a higher elevation, must be off as well so the readings will be off with the smart shunt
Renergy seems to be a good brand with lots of nifty stuff. Including double sided solar panels, long thin roof solar sheeting, and a ton of charge/invert/data point devices. I personally don't own any of their products yet, but am looking. So far, I like what I have seen. Cheers!
I received the following response from them. "While the Smart Shunt is no longer available for sale in our website, please be assured that Renogy remains committed to providing support for our existing customers. We will continue to offer assistance, including addressing any firmware concerns to resolve the various issues you've encountered." Reads like its been discontinued. I've got multiple usability issues with mine, and given the above response, I doubt it will get any enhancements.
Definitely not thrilled with mine. They announced this mid last year and still failed to deliver. Here is to hoping they pulled it to develop further and we didn't waste our money
They emailed me back saying they pulled it for a re-brand and that it was going to go back on sale end Jan. Who knows! I've kept mine because at the price, it's promising. Would cost almost £500 to get the same functionality from Victron kit.
I regret buying this shunt, it's been so unreliable, it refuses to talk to the One Core controller, keeps dropping off from DC Home, needs resetting on a daily basis I contacted Renogy support and was told it wont work with a non Renogy battery !!, then they said you can't use it as a standalone product and you have to buy a One Core panel to use it !!, these are both incorrect, as I pointed out in their own user manual it can be used with any brand of battery, I am using this in a second vehicle with a Li-Time as a standalone through DC Home and all it's been is trouble, latest is a red light flashing and can't find out why, there was a firmware update to One Core a few days ago and not it doesn't talk to One Core anymore, IMO don't waste your money on this it just going to cause you headaches.
@@JADudley i got it going bro. both of my items are brand new. The core just needed multiple updates. Kept running the update until it cant update no more. It finally showed up.

What happens in the mountains? The literature says its "ceiling" is 2000 meters.
Otherwise, I'm all for it.

This is a short of it working.
Hi, just want to double check. Looks like you have non-renogy batteries.
You are correct. I have 8 interstate SRM-4D deep cycle flooded batteries

Hi, can you view/see the status and state of charge on your mobile app when you connected to the internet and not via bluetooth.@@JADudley
Did the beeping ever stop?
Yes. After I synced the SOC to 100% after everything was fully charged
Big battery too
So what is all this “Renergy”? I don’t get to see every single video that drops
It is me building out my offgrid solar system.

I do like your video though..
Renogy took down the smart shunt. Not selling it anymore. No comment from renogy as to why.
That’s not good. I wonder why. Going to check into it.

wtf! my core wont even detect the smartshunt.
Did you try to connect it to your phone first? Also did you do the updates on your core first?
