Installing the new Renogy Smart Shunt into an existing REGO install with a Victron. I do not have Renogy batteries so I am interested to see how it does
I also installed the RENOGY Battery shunt. A little trickery to get started. My video shows what not to do! lol. Once I re read the manual it went like a breeze and we really like it so that we can see the two charge controllers, the surface of the battery temperature, and the smart plugs with door sensors that we put in the RV… Very handy! Nice work man! Thanks
There was an apparent software update scheduled for 24th jan, can you confirm if this has fixed the issue of not having the data on the home screen? Just ordered one and wonder if I made a mistake.
Hey there! Any update to the Smart Shunt showing battery percent on non Renogy batteries on the home screen? I'm still considering purchasing the shunt and using it only with the DC App and not purchasing the Renogy One Core. Thoughts/Recommendations?
Definitely hoping they improve the functionality in upcoming releases. I can't even see the device listed in the renogy one cloud. It just doesn't show up like the dc-dc and solar etc. So from the cloud I have no ability to even see a % let alone a run time calculation.
I only have the victron smart shunt not the entire system. The goal with the smart shunt from renogy was to get it all on one app and screen. The data on the victron was great like all their other products.
Yeah, I watched his but he is in the same boat based on what I see. The home screen lacks any information about the battery unless you physically click on the device tab then scroll to the smart shunt for any meaningful data.
I regret buying this shunt, it's been so unreliable, it refuses to talk to the One Core controller, keeps dropping off from DC Home, needs resetting on a daily basis I contacted Renogy support and was told it wont work with a non Renogy battery !!, then they said you can't use it as a standalone product and you have to buy a One Core panel to use it !!, these are both incorrect, as I pointed out in their own user manual it can be used with any brand of battery, I am using this in a second vehicle with a Li-Time as a standalone through DC Home and all it's been is trouble, latest is a red light flashing and can't find out why, there was a firmware update to One Core a few days ago and not it doesn't talk to One Core anymore, IMO don't waste your money on this it just going to cause you headaches.
Thank you for giving a honest review

Im sorry I missed this, the truck is apart being rewired to tidy up and move the batteries to an insulated box. I should know soon and I'll update
@@TravelsandTech cheers I bought it and they have actually fixed it you can choose between battery or shunt to display on the homepage now 👍
Fantastic, I mentioned hopefully it would come in an update but that was me hoping out loud not for sure lol. Thanks for letting me know

Reading fine after an update

have you done a side by side comparison on victron app info vs renogy dc home app and the information available.

Has there been any resolution to have it show battery info and time remaining on the DC home app home screen?
It is now showing on my app and the core one and m1. It isn't showing in renogy one cloud yet.
Does one core work with victron smart shunt
no
Check out another review from J.A. Dudley. Looks like he had some luck.

So just to confirm, you can’t read the levels of non renogy batteries even after update ? Bummer , looks like I’m returning it . 😢
After the updates it now displays.
It now displays after an update
