Crochet Tutorial: Elegant & Easy Shawl

- This is a great shawl for beginners. It's a 2 row repeat which works up fast and looks like a million bucks.
The yarn I used for the tutorial is Blue Theban yarn from my shop:
www.RepublicOfYarnia.com
Hook size was 4.0mm
You can use whatever yarn you would like. The thinner the yarn, the lighter the shawl will be. Thicker yarn will make for a warmer shawl.

Love this, definitely going to try it. Also, Blue Theban 😍!
Tell everyone it took you ages to do this very quick thing. You toiled, TOILED for them to have something beautiful.
I did mine in Number 10 crochet cotton and instead of double crochet, I did triple crochet instead for a summer shawl. This pattern is the same as the Secret Yarnary's Cakes and Candles pattern. I get so many compliments with the double crochet version and my triple crochet version. It's my go-to pattern for all my shawls. Thank you for your so wonderful instruction video.
Oh that's such a fantastic alternative and it would definitely be more flowy and airy! I wish youtube allowed people to show off pics of their projects, but I imagine your shawls look gorgeous. Cheers!
Delightful. Very clear instruction. Thank you
Thank you for watching! Happy crocheting!
I Made one shawl with a thin yarn one with a multi colored yarn and just started a third with a thicker yarn using a larger needle. I had to increase the chains by one to accommodate the seven double crochet stitches. I am using the Caron Colorana Hala yarn in Bluestone Frost. This yarn is so soft and easy to work with. I will be buying a few of the different colors.
Oh wonderful! Yes, that's a smart tip to increase the chains with thinner yarn. I'm so glad you're just plowing through with shawls. Go you!!!
Pretty ❤
Cute 😊thank you
Beautiful. I'm using Hobbii Butterfly yarn. Thanks.
Oh that will be gorgeous! I am sure it's going to turn out fabulously!
I just tried getting your website up and it says it’s not available😢
Oh that's so strange! How about trying it this way: www.RepublicOfYarnia.com
How many yards of yarn are you using in this shawl?
It's 1000m, so about 1093 yards.
It’s beautiful but I couldn’t get my stitches to line up with yours to save my life…. I tried all day. I’ll stick to an easier one I guess.
Oh darn it! I'm so sorry it's not working out. Let me know if I can help.
@@RepublicOfYarnia I’m going to try again when we go camping - I’m still fairly new to crocheting and this is a really pretty shawl! I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
When I first do a pattern and that happens I do this…take the work apart, put you tube video on a slow speed.. sit and do the piece with the slow video. It’s probably just a matter of skipping a stitch . You can do this, really.
Everyone can have same problem don’t give up many thing is correct stitch count as well as slow video to do step by step❤❤❤
