My headcanon is that the entirety of Violence used be like the first level’s maze, only flatter, stretching out infinitely as gigantic stretch of labyrinthean halls, trenches, occasional towers. The entire purpose of the layer was to “paint it red” with the blood of sinners, like a giant canvas. Only, by the time we get there, it’s completely covered with a sea of corpses, cut by rivers of blood. The architecture is completely annihilated and buried under the masses of bodies, and the only combatants remaining are the machines. Hell gave humanity a canvas, and we threw the whole bucket of paint at it, and then we threw the empty bucket and paintbrushes at it and stomped all over it until it was broken into a thousand pieces, and Hell loved every second of it XD
I have a pretty similar headcanon; When the layer was first created it was only white mazes, white towers, kilometers upon kilometers of white walls, floors, and roofs (like in 7-1), sometimes it would hide small forests (like 7-3) but they were also surrounded by white buildings, everything seemed so similar yet so different at the same time. The layer was enough for early civilizations; ancient Greeks, Romans and other were driven crazy by it. But as time passes, humanity only became more and more violent, slowly destroying these white mazes; sinners were destroying what was supposed to destroy them. They were becoming more violent than hell itself. The pinnacle of this violence was the machines, they brought destruction with them that no sinner could hope to achieve, inhabited by the machine, the layer slowly crumbled; this destructive power was to much for the layer to handle. By the time v1 arrived, most of the layer was turned into ruins, pretty similar looking to battlefields, with trenches, destroyed building, etc: places for the machines to pursue what they were built for; combat ( as seen in 7-2). But some machines were so powerful that nothing was left, where they stood, the layer was unrecognizable; no more white walls, not even ruins, only ashes and these machines; kilometers of nothingness only machines to be seen (7-4)
@@Shadoenix agreed, this makes sense as to why the further away from the garden we get, the more destroyed it is (7-2 being a warfield, large amounts of structure remain, 7-3 is forest, still quite a bit but then 7-4 is just a desert)
Everyone is saying that the LEITMOTIF in this Layer is going to be used in the P-3 theme, but we still have two more Layers before we can deduce that. The LEITMOTIF that is used is probably just for Violence.
I have a feeling the P-3 leitmotif will come from Fraud. Violence wouldn’t really be an interesting way to introduce a new king from one of the layers, nor does treachery, but FRAUD sounds like it’ll be REALLY interesting, perhaps hearing a few violence leitmotifs here and there. Also some people theorized we might meet God in the fraud layer but I doubt it. Just look at the terminals and it kinda already shuts down the theory. Currently my favorite Ultrakill fan level and fan track is fraudulence. I hope hakita takes inspiration from it and/or takes some of the music Marzuku made because the music is amazing. But who knows maybe Hakita will make it even better than the fraudulence fan concept.
Keep in mind Hakita has been improving his composition skills steadily, Violence is the pinnacle of Hakitas skill as a game dev and as a musician in my personal opinion
4-1 and 6-2 gabe are still on my top list, but bro violence.. new top 10 1. War Without Reason (7-4) 2. The World Looks Red (7-1) 3. The Death Of Gods Will (6-2) 4. Dune Eternal (4-1) 5. Suffering Leaves Suffering Leaves (7-3) 6. Hear! The Siren Song Call of the Dead (7-2) (i liked the WIP better) 7. Danse Macabre (7-3) 8. A Shattered Illusion (1-1) 9. Duel Reprise (4-4) 10. Order (P-1)
I can appreciate putting in the unused parts of War Without Reason in this mix. I was thrown for a second, but once I realised what it was, I was pretty thankful. It's nice hearing all the ideas that go into the music for this game honestly~
God The World Looks White is just so eerily terrifying because of how… “off” everything feels in the beginning of 7-1. Everything from the still mannequins to the white and sterile environment just manages to capture that vibe of being in a seemingly safe place yet having that feeling of there being something very wrong with all of it. Massive props to Hakita once again
@@TeethSkylark yeah the Mannequins still really freak me out because of how they quickly skitter around like some sort of insect (which doesn’t help me at all cuz I have a big phobia of bugs and spiders) so my brain pretty much instantly panics when I see them approach at Mach 10
The flashbang, the buncha mannequins room and them turning to look at you when you take the skull, the jumpscare, the buncha mannequins(tm) being gone when you go back, all perfect
it's an excerpt from the minotaur's terminal entry which mentions a redacted figure, I put it over the screen as a little easter egg since I have a personal hunch that this figure is related to the motif that plays when it is overlayed on screen (it's also on during 13:34 and 11:56)
