He's totally unique in the world of country music. He has a touch of Americana in his songs and voice. Take away Rich Men North of Richmond from the picture and he's still a bonafide talent for his lyrics, music, voice, and the gentle way he plays guitar. I'd say his influences would be John Prine and The Band among others. What shines through it all is his total honesty.
That's the way we talk in the Appalachian mountains region. Very hard to grasp at first but hang out and you will talk like us lol. I love his singing.
It's the authenticity in the lyrics and the emotion in his voice also his facial expressions that make me enjoy his music because its real. Honesty doesn't come around very often these days.
I love so much that the truck in the video is a GMC. Basically same as a Chevy, but my husband and I first hooked up in a 90 some GMC like 18 years ago, and we still have that truck. He takes me out gravel traveling in it when I'm having a bad day ❤
Love your reaction and I honestly believe we need to get back to that in a age where people meet each other online without any love or romance. Thanks for your nice soul and sweet heart.
Talk about a shift in direction! Sounds like a song you'd hear around a campfire on the weekend. Not everything has to be an anthem, this is a fine country song. Reminds me a lot of George Jones' Corvette song. This song also makes me feel better about Chris/Oliver's mental health. Most of his music carries SO MUCH weight. He still gets a dig in, though - "I'm higher than gas".
He’s following the classic hair metal formula. First song is an anthem, second song is more technical and showcases the band’s chops, and the third song is a power ballad, to get the ladies on the tour bus. Why mess with what works?
I love watching Oliver Anthony! Been watching this channel for a bit amongst my favorite lunch time reactors! I’d love feedback if not a reaction on Eagle freestyle - Sire infernal
Cheekier is a good description. I'm sure someone has already said that a "Zebco" is an inexpensive brand of fishing reels. I've had many of them (and caught a lot of fish on them), but I saw a little confusion on your face when he sang it. Peace, Love!!
My interpretation is that he is struggling hard, but has his woman he loves, and knows loves him, but hes putting her "through it all" ,but she just stays there and keeps on keepin on with him , even when he wonders why it hasnt broke yet...just works.
The year is not important... you know "the truck" ... you don't have to question his implied meanings... YOU KNOW what he's singin on. He'll shoot you straight! Enjoy😉
Britt, I'm from Maine, my ex-wife is from Alabama. I will love her until I pass away. This is a love song. You might not know it, if you have never been skinny dipping in the creek.
Awesome reaction! Come-On Britt your telling me if I understood right you couldn't rough it in a STATE park with a SHOWER HOUSE and Toilets with camping areas back in the woods... lol...NO WIFI!!!! Just you and your BESTIE(s) enjoy camp fires and cooking outside. peace
Aww Man! I miss and used to do ALL THAT with my husband. But during days before cell phones and all that so it was easy just to disconnect and have a good time where you were! And QUIET! Except time campers next to us in smoky mountains, git sprayed by a skunk in middle of night coming back from toilet!!😂😂 Glad I wasn't them! 😂😂
You missed a major point. The song is about a woman who can empathize with her man who works hard all day and all week. No one appreciates men these days, that's the message.
The simple life. We need more time by the creeks and rivers. We need to slow our lives down. That's what this fella's music says to me.

This is a love song to his wife who he thinks is perfect....for him.
Beautiful ❤️🔥 absolutely YES 💎
I sure hope he keeps on making music. He’s really good at it.
He's a great story-teller! He paints a picture.
Another indy singer named Ayla Schofield did a duet remix on this tune...her fiddle & backup vocals just takes this to next level
Just a good ole country love song............ yep! That's Oliver keeping it simple and real. TY Britt for reacting.
How does this dude keep sanging about my life ?? The things my Darlin and I had on my 90 something Chevy ...
I love what you say at the end, "have the day you deserve" ❤❤❤
Also, you are just so pretty!
What voice does this man have? Greetings from Uruguay 🤪✌️

People have forgotten honesty, we are lied to so much these days. This is a love song, but in a Country way!
"Ain't got a dollar ". Really miss the country of Cut-N-Shoot, TX. And the crick..Peace of God towards all...
It's so soothing❤❤❤
That’s real country music like back in the 70’s and 80’s, back when life was slower and more simple. Sure miss those times

“…a case of beer and a Zebco…”. My dad taught me how to fish with a Zebco 202 rod & reel. Man, that brings back great memories.
Great song! 😅
Great reaction babydoll. Much love from Richmond va❤❤❤❤ . God Bless you
Another Oliver Anthony is a good listen and short but Aint got a dollar is a good one
Great reaction Britt…I really appreciate you. Lucky is the soul who gets to chill with you in a 90 some Chevy😉🥹
Britt, the volume on the video you play is perfect but I could hardly hear you. Love your reactions!!
Stay true Oliver Anthony !!!
Us country men need love too! 🥰 We gettin' plenty! 🤣 His music is a throwback to simpler times for me. Love your reactions as always.

Thanks. I’ve been trying to figure out that lyric.
