All great tips. Not sure if this was mentioned but first and foremost, you should introduce yourself to your guest(s); for example, "Hi, my name is Jim/Mary and I'll be taking care of you today." The reasoning behind this is that you want to build a relationship between you and your guest(s). Other small things include bringing lemons when they order their sodas, putting children's drinks in styrofoam cups, and always having straws, sugar, sweeteners, and napkins on hand. Additionally, always ask your customer(s) how they want their meals to be prepared, ie. "how would you like your burger done, sir"? The goal is to create such a pleasureable experience for your guest(s) that they cannot wait to return and receive the same high level of service they've come to expect. In the end, it's your personality and the comfort you provide that will make you money above all else!
Let’s be real, if I was genuine in my feelings as a server, I’d probably not have a job. I just think of this as being in the thespian club at school, I’m basically acting lol
You don't have to be happy in order to smile, u can make a second nature. i was working in a construction domain then became a restaurant manager and the ceo always push me to smile and took many warnings for that, then it became a second nature even when im in the supermarket, im smiling to people there..hhhhhh
As a customer I never really pay much attention to the waiter or waitress and I always tip the same, 20%. Just move the decimal over, multiply by two. Easy. To me the tip is just part of their wage, it's not for me to short them on.
My parents always gave waiters such a small tip, least is not giving anything most is $4. Now I make sure I give at least $5-$10 tips to waiters that I see are nice. Sometimes raise the tips when I see that they had a bad day just to try and help with their day.
Watching thise Video my Experience level is increased from present kevel ot advanced level. It is absoulately Great Video Ever I seen on YOU TUBE. Very impressed by thise video. Thank You For Uploading that kind of video Here for Free of coast.
This video was great . And informative too. I see many restaurants to cafe's to buffet outlets who do not follow these simple etiquette skills when it comes to fine or comfort dining. I have worked in hospitality for 2 years and I would rarely see these types of skills out on the floor and even worse behind the bar of where you need to serve up and fill up the drinks. No one helps you . Atleast in my experience they didn't . Glad that this training video popped up onto my feed. As I am aware of many people who would need to watch it .
Having worked in food service during my life, it never fails to amuse me how every single restaurant training video ever made, regardless of the company, follows the exact same predictable tropes. First, you’re introduced to the overly cheerful trainer, who acts like they’ve had a triple shot of espresso straight into their veins, enthusiastically telling you, “We’re going to create the best experience for the guests!” Meanwhile, they’re smiling like they’ve just been told they’ve won the lottery, even though they’ve never served a single table themselves. Next comes the dramatic close-up of someone’s hands carefully plating a dish, like they’re crafting the Sistine Chapel instead of just slapping together a club sandwich. It’s always that slow-motion shot of the perfectly sliced tomato landing just so, while in reality, half the time you’re just trying to keep the lettuce from falling off the plate because no one knows how to wrap a burrito properly. And of course, there’s that beautiful pour of the drink, with the bubbles fizzing like it’s some kind of magical elixir-because, yeah, that’s totally what a glass of soda looks like when you’re serving it to a customer who’s been asking for a refill for the last 20 minutes. Then, there’s the customer interaction segment, where the guests are always polite, patient, and understanding-because we all know that customers never change their minds halfway through ordering or demand that their fries be made with “extra love” (what does that even mean?!). In reality, the second you walk up to the table, they’ll say something like, “Can I get this but without the pickles, but can you also leave the pickles on the side just in case?” And you’ll just nod, thinking, “Sure, I’ll make that happen in a parallel universe where I have a personal genie.” And of course, we can’t forget about the ‘we’re like a family’ spiel that’s in every single training video. Apparently, every restaurant is supposed to be this tight-knit team where everyone gets along, like you’re all extras in some corny rom-com. Everyone’s always smiling and laughing, like you’re working for a sitcom where everyone’s just waiting for a big group hug at the end of the day. In reality? Sure, you’re a “family,” but it’s more like one of those families where you only see each other at awkward holiday dinners-and then the second someone drops a plate, the whole family starts pointing fingers at each other. But hey, there’s a fun work environment, right? Too bad that “fun” usually means surviving your shift without losing your sanity. Oh, and don’t forget the team-building montage! Everyone’s happily working in unison, gliding around the kitchen like they’re starring in some sort of food service ballet. Everyone’s high-fiving, and there’s always a moment where someone jumps in to “save” an order that’s been sitting too long-like they’re a superhero. Meanwhile, you’re just trying to figure out why the fryer keeps breaking down and how to explain to the manager that you need a manual to deal with a customer who’s convinced their salad has gluten even though it’s just lettuce. By the end of the video, you’re supposed to feel like you’re prepared for a life of harmonious customer service and smooth operations, but in reality, you know you’re about to enter a war zone where the only thing running smoothly is the clock ticking down to your shift’s end. It’s like they filmed a fairy tale and handed it to you as “training material”-but when you show up for your first day, reality hits. You’re greeted by chaos, last-minute orders, that one coworker who can’t remember how to make coffee, and a customer who wants extra ranch but then never uses it. Ah yes, this is the true spirit of food service-less fairy tale, more survival mode.
Driving on the interstate I would see signs for Country Cookin' and always thought it was just a shitty local restaurant, but after watching this video, I now know it's a shitty chain of restaurants.
I've spilled a couple things on tables before but never has some one acted like they'd turn into a fucking mermaid if it gets on their arm like the guy in this video did.
As a bartender this is very good video. especially the part waiter/waitress "trying to help" by go to our station, block the way, scoop the ice by glass and shout. This is not make people love you. Always offer to help first and ask what they can do, make sure they can do it properly and clean when they finnish.
Thank you so much very helpful and really appreciate it the way u made this video I find a lot of things related to b a good waitress Thank you so much
Some customers are real bitches that if you made a little mistake they wouldn't even take a word we I do apologize, But I must say this is more better than what we used to teach, I am definitely going to use some of this tips for students.

Hi. I teach English in Vietnam. My school concentrates on speaking and listening and for higher level learners we have introduced 4 specific topics: Food and Beverage, Travel, Shopping, and Entertainment/Free Time Activities. Part of the course is for students to do their own study. We are sourcing various videos and audio links which students need to watch or listen to, and then they need to answer questions about it. After seeing your video, I was wondering if it would be possible to use various snippets from it for this self-study segment? Many thanks, Mr D
I had a waiter check back at our table like 10 times in an hour or two we were there it kinda got annoying I just wanted to eat my food in peace. Maybe cut back on how much they come back like I can always signal a waiter if I need something
I worked as a waitress for 30 years....man when it gets xtremely busy and you have to run 🏃♂️ being my self and honest was the best ...genuine friendly and human is most important...robotics help but ....good video though for when you have to pick up waiters from the street especially here in SA...lol 😆
Are the employees are expected to remember EVERY person who comes through the door? How could the question, "Is this your first time with us?" be offensive? The suggested line, "Are you familiar with how things work here?" is awkward. Much worse than the example of what not to say.

Never heard of this restaurant but I believe I am now qualified to cover anyone who works there shift.

You're so kind. You may don't know that many international students who work as a restaurant server don't get paid. Their salary is their tips.
You are very kind
That’s nice of you.
But just because you CHOSE to tip that amount, it doesn’t mean everyone else should have to do the same.
Ur a nice guy.
I enjoyed this ....straight from Jamaica❤

"If you think you took a job serving meals, think again." You're serving abysmal looking, generic comfort foods.
"comfort" is being a bit too generous.
Very encouraging please keep it up 👍

You had me at "Want to earn big tips, Take care of "OUR" guests and they will take care of you. Which means the restaurant pays you $2.35 an hour.
Exactly
All that extra for paying you minimum wage that's barely liveable
@8:30 how they assigning unnecessary extra work
with inflation, i highly doubt this still pays that much. they probably pay at least 6.50 or sum like that
This is so dystopian omg
Excellent video!! Very impressed^^

Zavier Hartung if a customer comes to the restaurant once or twice a week, you would NEVER ask them is it’s their first time
Used to think music was gonna give me temporary satisfaction
