If you like that then you will also like the class 450 and 444 south western railway which was originally south west trains. Part of the desiro city classes :)
When he was recording: 2 tph to Sutton (Carshalton) 2 tph to Sutton (Wimbledon) 2 tph to Sevenoaks 2 tph to Orpington 2 tph to Blackfriars 2 tph to Kentish Town 4 tph to St. Albans City
Great video and audio. Worth noting when the London Bridge works are complete, the express services won't pass through as they will use the Metropolitan Junction (links London Bridge and Blackfriars)
Matthew Taylor Yes spot on. Be interesting to see how the Great Northern trains will be when they start running through the new link tunnel at St Pancras across to Gatwick and so on too from Peterborough / Stevenage. Has been delayed as the route learning for both sets of drivers is taking longer than planned I know as well. The company reckon May onwards, but like anything can change. 👍🏽
It's not an artificial sound for safety, it's the thyristor, part of the electronics that convert the current for the motor www.railway-technical.com/trains/rolling-stock-index-l/train-equipment/electric-traction-control-d.html and the frequency just happens to make that sound
Excellent train video..... one of the best I have seen.... I know loads of people must ask you this question but I am genuinely interested.... what cameras have you been using?
The Southeastern would be much faster as there are express services from London Victoria. Thameslink on the other hand only do stopping services to Rainham.
The trains are from Germany, so like the ICE3 they have that loud traction noise. Even the velaro High Speed train sets from Germany in China make more of a noise then other fleets of High speed Trains in China. Very good trains from Germany, but all german velaro, Desiro trainsets seem the only ones to have this sound. Listen to a ICE3 and your see what I mean. Only German trains feature this unusal traction noise.
A shame that thameslink no longer has the awesome class 319 trains. The 700 trains are just plain boring and have no character whatsoever. The 319s had tons of character with those awesome motor sounds. The 700s just make a boring old whine sound. Hopefully London Midland and northern rail hold onto the 319s. Nice video btw
NiffIncentro At6/5 there are no companies called London Midland or Northern Rail. You probably mean London Northwestern Railway, West Midlands Railway and Northern.
I really like the sound of class 700's arriving at stations :D Makes them quite special.
If you like that then you will also like the class 450 and 444 south western railway which was originally south west trains. Part of the desiro city classes :)
In 0.5x speed is way better

The 465 trains have the sound of jubilee line and Victoria line mixed together but I like it though.
Lovely video, you CC commentary was cool too!

Thameslink is Crossrail 0, basically. Still not 100% sure the interchange at Farringdon will be big enough...
It's to become near/over the TPH (all the platforms as 1 station) of Clapham Junction, so yeah, there may be overcrowding issues.
!

I love the sound of the class 700s when they’re on third rail DC.
And class 450/444 which are the original Desiros 😁
I don't like the third rail motors, the pantograph ones are much better

@@Great_WesternTVFan their both equally as good
3:11 What is that Noise??? Id assume its the brakes releasing but that doesn't sound normal
it was prob either releasing from full service brakes or emergency brakes
Keep up the great videos!
Nice 👍
As always, excellent. As always, disappointed when it ends. Maybe you can visit Boston subway sometime.

1:59, Class 700: Bwa...Bwawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawa...
The Japanese southeastern engines that sound like f1 cars are so much better
Desiros. Sound slightly different on the class 444, 450 and 350
@@girlsillusion I know what class that was lol, it just the different way to start and I found it funny there.
@@JonathanChan212 ok
465's departure sound is a combination of the LU 95, 96 and 09 stocks.
The sound of Class 700 is really strange
Ruslan Syrtlanov I think it sounds like that only when it's arriving to a station and that's only because of safety. But I don't know it
It sounds artificial... no sane drivetrain emits that type of sound

Victor Tsai Wow, thank you. :)
It still sounds terrible, why don't they get the same sort of motors as everywhere else in the world?
Great video on trains mate 😊👍

Can somebody tell me what’s that alarm sound on 2:00 because I always wonder what it is 🤨
I dont know but those are the sounds they make when they are on 3rd Rail
I thought that all Brighton Line Thameslink went via London Bridge. Why do they do this routing sometimes ? Aarre Peltomaa of Mississauga, Ontario
Whoops ! I forgot to note the year that this was filmed. I guess the Bermondsey flyover was still being constructed. Aarre Peltomaa
Best vid ever
If changing between this station and the tube, is it an out of station interchange like at balham
Dan Smith yes. You walk through the shopping centre to interchange.
Are you coming back to make more videos.

u can barely hear the class 700s motors..they sort of sound like a class 319. all u can hear is that alarm type sound. which for some reason i like

I miss the networkers I only get 375s at my local station

I love the arriving train sounds not southeast thameslink trains
Is thameslink faster go rainhan than southeastern?
The Southeastern would be much faster as there are express services from London Victoria. Thameslink on the other hand only do stopping services to Rainham.
Please do more thameslink trains sounds arrive and depart
I wish this was not a desiro city train it's noise is so annoying and these trains are gonna be here for a long time
Was the first train a Bombardier? Similar propulsion.
Kameron Coleman Nope, British Rail Engineering Limited Class 465 i believe
Metro Cammell (now part of Alstom)
It sounds like a Jubilee line train which I believe is Bombardier built. So I think it might be, but I could be wrong...
everything_is_depressing_123 Jubilee is manufactured by Alstom not Bombardier.
Could anyone imagine if 390s where also going to this station
Nice
the fast services now all go via london bridge
When class 700 leaves and arrives st station it sounds like a 350
Gosh, those Desiros with their warbling noises really get on the nerves before long, don't they.
Yes, I hate that sound.
Nope, they sound wicked, at least the ones here in the West Midlands do. I still prefer when a 323 turns up though!
AndreiTupolev cc cccccccccccc
This Sound is horrible.... Siemens trains Sounds often strange, like the DT3 in Nürnberg, Germany
Yes, thank you!
As someone from Nuremberg, the DT3 are as annoying as it gets.
The new series, the G1, for the line U1, are much better.
Funny noises
I been on thameslink trains
Train Class at 0:40?
I'm assuming it's a 466, judging from the sounds and PDO buttons.
It’s a 465
Class 465/9

If only they made the same sort of Desiro noises that the older Desiro's do, like the 350's, these ones sound too bland for me with the singular tone.
