    GfHG signature move at 10:33--kicking down the devil and reaching up to heaven! Love the parts you guys came up with. I totally get how just shifting everything up loses some meat from the bone; your arrangement is anything but wimpy. The thing that stands out to me is how you managed to keep building energy at every point in the song. It starts with low-key swells at 6:55, then adds momentum with muted 8ths at 7:33. The accompaniment lines at 7:58 help "tell the story" emotionally without stepping on the vocals. Great melodies everywhere, especially the soaring leads at 8:21! The build-up on the bridge at 9:12 is my 2nd favorite part, second only to the GfHG signature move at 10:33....just epic! More so than just the notes of the walk-up at 10:40 is HOW you play, specifically the use of vibrato throughout. Troy, you have massive tone, well-articulated playing talent, and a wonderful heart for God.

    I have the 89 VS In Silver Sparkle as well. A bit heavy but an awesome guitar! As always, I appreciate your heart for worship and your goal of excellence for His glory!

    I have the sparkle jet in the vintage selection edition 59...customized a tad. I use that and my Gretsch semi hollowbody all the time. Lately its been the hollowbody though. Its got "the feels"

    Hey Troy - you mention the players edition sparkle was a better guitar. Do you feel that way still after playing this one?
    I’m between this 89 VS and the players edition. Wondering if the TV Jones classic plus in the bridge is worth it or if I should move towards some of the features of the players edition instead…

      The pickups in the 89 VS are much better than the Gretsch HS Filtertrons in my opinion. I love this 89 VS. If you know my history with Gretsch guitars, you know that's a pretty bold statement! 🤣

    Hi Troy. What is your approach when you are making your own guitar parts of a song?

    • @GuitarforHISGlory
      @GuitarforHISGlory  Рік тому +1

      Compliment and don’t distract from the vocal. Decide when to harmonize with vocals or synth or stick with a unison part. Build with the song. That’s not all encompassing, but that’s a few of the things I consider.

    What filtertrons do you recommend? Lambetrons are out of stock 🫠

      I don’t have a recommendation. Just not enough experience with them. Out of the two Gretsch I own, I prefer the sound of the one with Gretsch HS Filtertrons.

      I like the HS FilterTron. I am surprised about how warm these pickups are.
