    FWIW, I was having trouble laying out the base panel and getting the base width to match the number calculated using the formula on the sheet. After repeated watching of the video, I found the part where he explains the exception to drawing the last pleat line (right edge of panel). The formula for that last line, I'll call it PLA, for last pleat is PLA = PW + BS + SA - (1/2 x FA).

    When you sew that in, is the base going to be taunt side to side? Because if it isn't it's going to bunch up when they side across the seat.

    Hi John great video do you use the same formulas if your not going to stuff your pleats and use sew in foam instead

    Hi John, regarding the Base Shrinkage of 3/8" on 2" pleats, Does the base shrinkage double for 4" pleats or is it a percentage of the top material roll allowance? Thank you for the video!

      In my experience the base shrinkage stays the same for the pleat widths I have ever done. But I have never done anything in the 4" range. I would suggest doing a test piece to see what the shrinkage is.
