  • See what happens when WeatherPort Engineers get a hold of a 500-horse power, super-charged fan, with 4 carbon fiber fan blades, an airflow meter, a WeatherPort 10’ x 10’ Canopy and a few 10’ x 10’ pop-up canopies!
    This video provides viewers a brief overview of a WeatherPort 10’ x 10’ Canopy and an instant canopy tent from a leading manufacturer. Both the WeatherPort Canopy and the pop-up instant canopy are anchored into the asphalt using the provided spikes. WeatherPort Engineers placed each canopy structure 15’ from the fan and incrementally increased the speed while measuring the wind speed with an airflow meter.
    Considering purchasing a pop-up canopy? We recommend you watch this video and consider investing in a heavy-duty canopy from WeatherPort! Want a custom canopy that will provide many years of enjoyment? WeatherPort offers engineered heavy-duty canopies and recreation shelters in a wide range of sizes, colors, and logo printing capability to meet your outdoor event, sporting event, backyard party, or beach canopy needs!

    I need this!! Had a “Master Canopy”. 10x10 with the roof vent that supposedly makes it a better choice for windy areas. 🤦🏼‍♂️. Second time I ever used it… first time was a dead still sunny day. It was fine. Yesterday it got destroyed by (the infamous afternoon) wind gusts at Willow springs raceway in Rosamond CA. The scissoring struts broke in three places and it collapsed. Scratched the crap out of my truck to which it was secured on one side. There were 100 other guys out there with their own Ez-up/canopies. Mine was the one that got destroyed. I left it for the trash collector. Cheap thin wall pot metal struts work just fine if there is no wind. The only thing a “Mastercanopy” actually masters is your Mastercard

      Hello Steven! The news about your truck getting damaged by a pop-up canopy is horrible! Thankfully nobody was injured during the sudden wind gust. Our WeatherPort canopies are a heavy-duty alternative and, when properly anchored, provide a safe and secure space to enjoy outdoor activities. That popup canopy has guy lines for a reason. You didn't properly secure it to the ground. They can hold up to much higher wind speeds when properly staked out with guy lines and all. Do the test again and read the directions on the pop up to stake it out properly, with the guy lines. Here's a video of a coleman pop-up canopy in 40MPH wind with no problems. ua-cam.com/video/tl4NLtvNGr4/v-deo.html

      @WeatherPort  4 роки тому

      Hi Thomas! We wanted to do a side-by-side comparison. Our 10' x 10' canopy structure did not include a guy line package. So we chose to do the canopy wind test with a 10' x 10' pop-up canopy without the guy lines. In our canopy wind test we found the plastic connectors that hold the metal pieces together were easily damaged in winds of 30-40 mph. Seems like this is a common complaint against instant canopies that use a similar frame system. Our heavy-duty canopy frames are made of galvanized steel or aluminum and do not contain plastic connectors that can easily break. More information about our long-lasting canopies here: weatherport.com/products/building-models/canopies/

      I'm surprised the pop up canopy made it past 10 mph.. Even "properly" secured those pop up canopies are light weight and hold up to zero stress. Maybe good for cities, fairs, booths, etc on calm days. When you live in the country like I do with constant wind they just do not hold up.

      Hello! I will have our team look at the website and shipping costs. For international shipments of our heavy-duty canopies or our fabric structures, I would recommend contacting a WeatherPort representative directly to work on a quote and determine a more accurate shipping cost to Italy. We sell and ship our fabric-building systems all over the world, so getting them to Italy will not be a problem. Should do SETUP with high winds.. that's where the question will be... but this is good, and pretty interesting... how do you have these anchored? how about in BEACH SAND..

    • @WeatherPort
      @WeatherPort  5 років тому +1

      Hello Monica! The WeatherPort canopy can be assembled in all weather conditions, including high winds. We have many customers that use their WeatherPort canopy structures at the beach. We offer many different anchoring solutions. For a day trip to the beach, you could use a ballast system that would allow you to use weights or containers filled with sand. When you design your WeatherPort canopy, the building specialist can discuss the anchoring options and specific requirements to ensure the canopy is being used safely at the beach or in high wind conditions. If you are interested in learning more or designing a canopy structure, give us a call at 970-399-5909!

    Yea let's anchor down the expensive one with giant spikes. And anchor down the cheap one with cheap spikes so the cheap one will fly away. That's not a real test. Anchor down both with the cheap spikes and they will blow away.

    • @WeatherPort
      @WeatherPort  5 років тому +5

      Thank you James for watching our canopy wind test video! We used the spikes that come with the pop-up canopy as well as the ground spikes we provide with our high-strength canopy structure. As you pointed out, our ground spikes (and canopy structure) are much more ideal for high wind situations.

      I agree. So the pop up tents spikes suck. Win for your product. Now let's see what happens when the pop up is anchored correctly.

    Why wasn’t the 10x10 tied down like the weather port? I’m sure the weather port canopy is a good product but seems a little shady when the same rules and controls are not applied. You almost had a customer.

      Hello AA!
      The 10' x 10' canopy wind test video comparing a pop-up canopy and a WeatherPort canopy used the ground spikes that come with each system. While not an apples-to-apples comparison (for many obvious reasons), the video highlights the rugged durability of our canopy solutions in high wind situations. Our American-made shelters and fabric buildings are intended for individuals and companies looking to invest in a structure that will last decades vs. a season or two.

      @WeatherPort  3 роки тому

      Hi Richard! Thank you for inquiring about using a WeatherPort outdoor canopy for shade from the sun. The canopy provides a good amount of sun coverage during the day. We do make side curtains that are easily rolled up or removed if you want to create a canopy structure that provides additional shade from the sun or protection from the wind. Certainly appears to be a decent canopy....but kind of a useless comparison. A cheap $50 dollar pop up canopy that is intentionally designed to be light weight and able to be thrown up in a matter of minutes is obviously not the equal of a far more expensive canopy that appears to be intended as a more quasi-permanent structure.
