  • Making a Full Shirt Order With DTF | Direct-To-Film Printing
    In this video we are doing a t-shirt job order of 16 shirts with both front and back designs. We are going to take you through the full print and pressing of each of the shirts.
    The 2 head DTF printer is another popular option for busy shop owners that have a lower budget. See how production works with the DTF-24H2 in this video: • Direct to Film Printin...
    The total job time to make these 16 shirts with both front + back designs was about 45 minutes.
    The print time for 40 transfers (a couple extras were printed) was about 17 minutes and 47 seconds, BUT this timing is if this was the only job you were doing for the day, which is not a likely application. This time is 30-40% higher than it would be if you were to just drop this job in with a regular day’s run of transfers.
    Commercial DTF printers like the DTF-24H2 and the DTF-24H4 work by automatically printing, heating, applying powder, beating and drying your design on your transfer.
    The press time for the 16 shirts (front and back, so 32 transfers) was around 27 minutes and 53 seconds.
    Front and back printed shirts are a more specialty order, so if you are curious about the production time for just front shirt customization, just cut this time in half!
    The DTF film you use is essential to your production times. Some of these films require a cool or warm peel. This can slow down production so we highly recommend to hot peel film that you can find here - colmanandcompany.com/premium-...
    If you are just starting your custom t-shirt business and want something compact and affordable to start with, the DigitalHeat FX White Toner Printers are a great choice.
    They are digital printers that allow you to print full color transfers in seconds. You then apply an adhesive sheet using a heat press that will turn this transfer t-shirt ready.
    To understand the timing differences with production like this, we did the same job of 16 shirts with our DigitalHeat FX 8432 printer. The shirts are only the front but you can see a great time and labor comparison by watching this video: • Making a Full Shirt Or...

    Neat idea for take up roller set up: V-Cut material with point being closest to leading edge, tape in center, let the roller do the rest.

    Now the printer + dryer finally make sense to me after being able to see it start to finish with no editing cuts. I was under the impression you have alot of wasted film when you want to get the prints off of the dryer but its really not that bad. I have a VG-540 I kind of want to replace with DTF

    Thanks so much for this video. I just ordered the same machine you have from audley for all the same reasons you had and am waiting for it to get here. The language barrier is something I’m already struggling with for simple things but hoping it’ll get better. Can you tell me how many 220v I will need to run the printer and the heater? I asked them so I can have the line installed and ready for when it gets here but they didn’t seem to get what I was asking (or maybe they did I’m honestly not sure). But I wasn’t sure if it only had one 220v for both machines or i would need two or even more outlets. Having to pay an electrician I would like to have it all done at once. Thanks so much !!

    I would Definitely Recommend that you Press the shirt first prior to pressing the DTF transfer. This will remove the moister from the shirts. If you do not prepress the shirts at times you will be small spots on the transfer from the moister.

      @ColDesiColman  Рік тому

      Great comment. The transfer will adhere great either way, we often recommend a pre press for the reasons you mention, but we often demo many ways.

      Sometimes you can get away with it, but then occasionally it comes back with avenges. Moisture in the Garment and Humidity in the room play a big role.
      If you get small circles or specs on your prints after you press sometimes you can wipe it with a dam cloth then repress it and they go away. Other times after your first wash they will come back. Last thing you want is a Large order come back to you with complaints after the first wash. It will be the last order from that customer.
      Thats why I take the few extra seconds and Always Prepress my shirt to remove any moisture.

      I was a Long Time DTG Fan because the High Resolution Print Quality!!! However the Truth is for a Production Shop DTF wins every time no competition.
      The Only way you can compete is if you had a Epson F3070, however most people have Desktop size Epson F2100’s.

      There are many brands of glue and you should consult SDS documents for safety rather than just social media videos. We have documentation for all our brands of glue. Saying that, extractors and air purifiers are great for all industrial businesses when particulate can get in the air.

    Few things to touch on - (11:02) film got stuck and buckled instead of feeding through. You opened the shaker cover and pulled the film down so it wouldn’t buckle up and lose the print. You didn’t speak a word on that in the video. This could be the belt speed is not fast enough or the film has a nasty habit of getting stuck while traveling into the shaker unit.
    Also, your edge guards are not on the film, but off to the sides. Not sure if the media skewed going into the printer or if they were just left that way.
    Side notes - no videos on maintainence or servicing the equipment. No videos on safety or exhausting the fumes from the curing unit. Hot melt powder is toxic when heated up to those high temps.
    Transparency is important.

    • @ColDesiColman
      @ColDesiColman  2 роки тому +3

      Hi John! We discuss adjusting the film earlier in the video at around the 7:28 mark. Don explains that this can happen occasionally if your belt speed is not on point.
      Also, we discuss maintenance and exhaust units in several of our DTF comparison videos. We also offer full training and support for all our equipment that teaches about maintenance procedures.
      Also in the sales process, we explain the exhaust units importance more thoroughly.
      We have been in the industry for 20+ years now selling customization equipment and supplies and are extremely transparent about ever piece of machinery we offer.
      But thanks for watching!
