I got booted at a Walmart about 5 years ago. They wanted $875 to take it off. I ended up going into the Walmart and buying a sawz-all. I cut the boot off with the sawz-all. Brought the sawz-all back into the Walmart, returned it for a refund. The next month I start getting threatening mail showing up at my house. I ended up getting taken to court by the booting company. At the end I beat their case because my lawyer noted that there no signs saying that I couldn’t park at that Walmart. My lawyer also got the towing/booting company to pay me a settlement for time lost.

I don't trust green lights on dock doors. I get out and check if the bumper's hooked and push the door padding back to see if the dock door's closed/gated. All it takes is somebody accidentally pressing a button or a forklift driver rushing in at the last second to grab something he dropped.
    Always check.

Forklift operator here. I’ve had restraining hooks malfunction while loading trailers. One, the control board failed and the hook disengaged. Another, condensation inside the control housing caused a short circuit and the hook disengaged. Neither incident resulted in a mishap. I got with the driver and our company safety team and we manually chocked the trailer until I could finish loading. To this day, when I’m loading or unloading a trailer, I keep my ears open for the squeak and clunk sounds of the hook disengaging, and I look at the light inside the dock EVERY time I drive into a trailer. The skid marks suggest, to me, that the driver might have went onto the soft shoulder, then rolled while trying to get back onto the paved surface. Same exact thing happened on I-40 east of Moriarty the other day. I got stuck for 2+ hours behind that one.

Same with swift, so many rules while driving and if u get
20 dashcam points (following closer than 3 seconds, hard braking, fast turns, basically everything a peterbilt driver does) so 20 points within a month
Average less than 6.7 miles a gallon
(No sleeping with truck on or missing exit / turn)
And u have to drive 6,000 miles within that month to receive “bonus” pay which is regular pay for other companies but if ur a bad driver u will only make 40,000$ a year
The dashcam points are easy to dodge once u realize when it activates but sleeping with the truck off is ungodly. People soak their mattresses in sweat and barely sleep just to get an extra 500$ every month 😢

He probably caught it as it started smoking by checking his mirrors. Immediately pulled in to a truck stop and inspected it and sure enough the seal was blown. Outside of that, the trailer might not have been braking as well due to the brakes covered in oil, so he might've simply felt the difference in his foot. I also imagine that if a wheel is starting to cease, the trailer would dog leg, probably only with a very light load or empty though.

Good spidey senses and eyeballs, too. You can tell when you're leaking seal fluids if you watch your fuel efficiency. All that stuff can effect your consumption. Keep hitting that trip and leg reset so you can clue yourself in on the mysteries.

@@spookygearsdon’t you mean they have signs there of parking isn’t permitted? Not all Wal-marts have no truck signs if it’s not permitted. Some times it’s city ordinances that don’t allow it, so the store might not put signs up.

I wonder if there is a way to remove the barnacle. I'm guessing it has to use suction? Maybe careful maneuvering could allow it to be removed while only leaving a few cups on. Though i guess if there are cups in the middle, SOL...

I was loading a trailer one time where someone waved hello to the driver and the driver thought he was waving him off, just as I was on the ramp from the dock to the truck he started pulling out, I jumped off the fork truck and it fell to the ground cracking the frame in half.

We used to have actual truck parking spots at our local Walmart. Then outsiders came and ruined it so Walmart repaved the lot and took those spots out and used landscaping to make sure you can’t park a truck there.
