No other sensible option in those circumstances. Interesting supper. Maybe a new gastronomic phenomenon in the making 😊🧙♂️
Having hunkered down through many hurricanes I can empathize with the stormy conditions….truly hope you found all was well at home when you returned! Thank you again for another beautiful video!
What a day. When it rained it pours. When it rains here in Salt lake City Utah, it's a few drops. Iam learning that the weather people don't know anything. I look out the window and if it rains alot, that's great. Hope that you both have a safe trip.
When I was a kid my mum told me that Noddy lived in Beacon Fell forest.. I think she just wanted to get me excited about going for a walk. It worked. I never have found him though 🤗
That road brings back many memories in my distant past I use to race bicycles for Lancashire Road Club on all those roads and lanes, that reservoir was known locally as the blue lagoon. We use to use it as a training run from Belmont over to Horwich, 2x round was about 45 miles a good evening training run. Keep the videos going enjoy I’m in my sixties now so it’s just me and the dog Buster. 🐕🐕
I'd have loved to be in the little red camper with the wind and rain pelting down, she kept you safe, dry and warm. Very appropriate song ken 😂. When i was young my dad had a dormabeale possibly not spelt correctly, and we would go to the South of Ireland for our holidays in it. Safe and happy journeys ahead. XX ❤️💙 Hope you don't mind carol but we rescued a little kitten GINGER AND WHITE and I'm calling her CHUTNEY 🐱😻
Love the name for the kitten. I have struggled with naming cats over the years. Looked after a semi feral colony a few years ago. I had Ginge, Ginge Tom and Marmalade for the 3 gingers. Another was called Hiena (eeks). Another Mummy Black who I was never able to trap so carried on producing, living up to her name.
Hi Margaret. Those holidays in the South of Ireland sound great and bet you have some wonderful memories. Carol is honoured to have your kitten named Chutney. We would love to see a photo if you are able to email or use Messenger in Facebook 😀❤️
Mulligatawny soups that brings back memories, I was in the m navy old favourite never had it at home. I have a v w van just waiting for the weather, so like seeing you. I live in Eastbourne 🙂

No storm can beat you too!! There’s always some sort of solution in the works! Glad you weathered the storm and we’re safe and sound away from any trees and electric wires 👍
No point taking risks with the weather. We were lucky we had no restraints on being anywhere by a certain time so could take shelter somewhere safe until the storm passed ☺️
Thank you for another video 😊. There are a few things in life we can't control, including the weather. Safety always comes first. Stay safe and take care 🙏👋
What troopers you both are! Glad little red kept you safe and warm and you lived to tell us all the tale. The emergency rations looked interesting! I’m hopefully on my last day of being at home due to the dreaded virus so it was very nice to see the outside world on your video, even if it was grim. Thank you and wishing you some sunshine for your next adventure. X

A great vid, thanks folks. I love hunkering down in bed in a van, or tent during a storm. It is so conducive to a good night's sleep. Of course that is as long as everything is ship shape and the camping area is safe. You seem quite switched on in the safety side of things Ken so I am sure your future travels will continue thus. And Mulligatawny soup is just the thing for a cold dreich day!! Thanks again.
Hari OM "It's needin' eatin'!!!" A phrase often heard among the Mac Clan! Gotta love a put together camp meal. Especially, when hunkering down. I was holding my breath for you as you travelled the motorway in all that. Well done for deciding to stay put... YAM xx

Hello Ken / Carol well that was a wet windy wild day there , I quite like being out in it as long as you are far enough from trees , I guess it goes back to my farming days growing up. I look forward to the next episode after the storm. Take care have a great weekend.

Just wind, wind, and more wind. The mountains had a bit of snow. I love seeing the rain and the lush green landscape in your videos. As always, you have filmed some beautiful scenery. Safe travels🚘
Thank you for bringing back several happy memories of the area for me today. What a shame that you couldn't get out for a walk or two. Great video. You weren't beaten just slowed down a bit. It also occurs to me that when I see you driving it makes me think you're driving on the wrong side of the road, then I remember.
Great vlog, seeing the actual conditions you were challenged with 😳and all the familiar areas. Did you pull off the M6 and then rejoin? I was trying to link up your journey. Glad you managed to finally find a safe spot without trees overhanging. Such an awful weekend weather wise. Thank goodness for emergency van rations! 😊
I know we pulled off the motorway and didn’t go back onto the M6 but can’t remember what route we took ☺️ We were certainly very relieved when we arrived safely at the visitor centre 😀
Certainly difficult driving conditions, you must have been pretty tired by the time you arrived at the parkup. its amazing what meals you can come up with out of our store cupboards, isn't it? One of my favourite cheeses (Tina) love the Wensleydale and apricot too, not sure about the pate though! You do look after Ken well Carol in his old age lol 😀🚙🐕
Yes we were very tired and relieved to get there in one piece! The soup was a real comfort. Have you tried the Wensleydale cheese with mango and ginger from Waitrose 😋😀👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Hi. Love the sound of that cheese! Love ginger, although its usually in my rubard and ginger gin! I don't think we've got a Waitrose anywhere near. I couldn't remember who you said you subscribed to, think she may get in touch. We had to take our latest upload down, edit out the music and re upload, got a copyright claim. Copyright claims can be a real problem. We have had quite a few which we contested and so far have won all of them. It’s a pain though as there are quite a few hoops to jump through. We use a company called Artlist.

Love the video as always, gotta say though, y’all driving on the left side of the road makes me cringe when I see another auto coming the opposite direction thinking it is going to hit you. Highway looks normal though, Just had to say that, I really do enjoy your videos and look forward to a new one since I’ve watched to older ones several times.
Thanks for watching Gerald. You would soon get used to driving on the left over here 😀👍

Ive never heard of mulligatawny soup, now I have to Google it and try and make it, as we don’t have it here. Even better, make my way to the Lakes District and try and get some there!
Thanks for posting
Hi Paul. Mulligatawny soup should be available in most supermarkets in the UK. One of our favourite flavours 😋
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
