Tbh, I like how the new Tonehammer looks. And the funny thing is: They got a DI out on the front AND a second one on the back. The idea is that you can have one post-EQ and with cabsim on and one without and FOH can pick either one. But I get the aesthetic thing about having that XLR on the front :D
Just on the tuning question. I play a 5 string bass and capo it. So we do play superstition in Eb easy also Judith from perfect circle Db, would Alice in Chains. It works for them all. Try it.
It’s funny you mention using that bi amp distortion sound for a wedding, because I literally just did that last week 😂 we got to play Killing In The Name of and numb by LINKIN PARK 😂 10/10, do recommend. The groom also broke some drink glasses while moshing 🤘🏼
In regards to the drummer question. No doubt in my mind I’d want to jam with Takashi Kashikura from toe seriously the best drummer in the world. Saw toe once in 2016 at Arctangent and it’s still probably the best live set I’ve ever seen. True masters of writing instrumental music. For 2 honestly too many but I feel like he’s enough that’d I’d take it as my 2nd for another chance to do the same haha
Not sure how I feel about Eastwood. Their average price point used to be abuot 500USD years ago and now their entry level is around 1000USD. And all they've really done is perhaps what seems to be copying body designs of instruments from the 60s - 80s, which is cool because at least it keeps things interesting but at their current prices, its totally ridiculous. Also I don't particularly agree with instruments being made in Asia as being inferior products. Everyone needs to know that your favourites brands are outsourcing to Asia to exploit workers wages but actually certain factories in Asia can indeed make really high quality items. Its a matter of how big a profit the instrument brands want to make, pay more for higher quality production but rake in less profit or pay less for poorer quality production but rake in more.
Pretty sure the Boss Katana head is only 250 RMS, despite the 500 in the description. And no tuner so it can’t function as an all in one head. Great sounds but seems limited.

With regards to tuning up and down, transposing etc.. -that's what 5-strings are for, just saying!

Hot take I don't care for the joe dart anything. The sterling one especially looks super plastic and toy like.
