I feel like the people who clicked on this video really needed a more clear example of acne scarring. Everybody gets one big bump like that once in a while, but I have severe indentations and went through a year of Accutane with horrible cystic acne. I wish this could've been more helpful, because if she's insecure about THAT, then I shouldn't be going outside. I appreciate the effort, but sadly I don't think it was successful :(

Ariel Elizabeth I agree completely. He just focused on her one blemish. Did she even have acne scarring? That’s what I have and I was excited when I clicked on this video. Disappointed he didn’t actually focus on covering up or minimizing texture from acne scarring like he said in the beginning of the video.

Hi Ariel. I know I’m super late to the party lol. But I was wondering if you’re subscribed to ThaTaylaa? She’s been off accurate for a few months now but 95 percent of her content was filmed when she had severe cystic acne and texture. I’ve learned so much from her channel as i too have significant scarring and texture. And I agree one big ass pimple does not qualify as troubled skin. Not sure if the lighting is making her skin look smoother but I would have been more than happy to sit in the share and donate my skin to science 😂😂😂

She stated she had pockmarks on her check area. So it’s not just the zit. I do however feel They should have done a close up to show the pockmarks. Good video none the less, it’s solid information.

Those eyelash extensions are very distracting. I would ditch them! I don't think they're flattering your eye shape, if anything they're kind of weighing the eye down and causing a droopy effect because I think they're too heavy at the outer corners. You are beautiful, but the lashes are distracting from that.

So disappointing to see some of the comments on here belittling this woman just because they think her skin issues aren’t as bad as others....the one thing that gives me comfort as an acne sufferer is that others with acne are very supportive and understanding but I’m not seeing alot of that here sadly. Acne breakouts come and go in severity but it would still take a lot of strength to put yourself out there like that to the world. Be kind to each other guys!

It would be very helpful to have a variety of “models”having not only different skin tones and ethnicities but also ages. I’m tired of seeing only 20-ish young women on here. Bring on the 50 year olds with wrinkles, laugh lines, etc so I can get some tips 😂❤️

@@jgarcia5038 It's not a contest. This literally will not work for people like me and many others who have severe acne and scarring. We get frustrated when we see videos claiming to cover acne and the model has one or two blemishes. For people who get the occasional break out, then this video will be helpful! But for people like me, we just want an actual acurrate representation of what we go through.

Also, stay awayyfrom testosterone boosters like eggs, gingseng, aloe vera, biotine, B6 and iodine. My best wishes to you.

Sheso Madeline Hi. It never worsened my acne. That kind of acne is causef by testosterone and, whatever raises it, like ovulation or aloe vera, will worsen the acne. Jeffrey's matter-of-factness is so good here, because this is such a sensitive and emotional topic. You can really see how uncomfortable Melinda is at first, and how she gets more relaxed and confident as each layer goes on. That's what makeup is all about!

My skin is really like Melinda's - a lot of breakouts in the jaw/chin area just before my period and they tend to the bigger painful ones (Melinda, you're gorgeous, that hair is goals). Jeffrey, thanks especially for the tip about hydrating the skin, I keep thinking that oily skin means I should keep it 'dry'; I learned that I'm probably making things worse.

April Chao this is the first time I have ever watched any of his videos and I even though I prefer Ulta, I definitely enjoyed this! I didn't know who he was until now. Good video and I have to agree that she does not have major acne issues going on, actually she has very lovely skin!

I love your videos! I’m an older (47 year old) woman, I do get occasional breakouts but I’m more concerned with plain oily skin and I have rosacea as well. I would like to see you address foundation and skincare for that combination. Thank you!

Jeffrey, you are a star! I love watching you and hearing the tips and tricks from you. This helped me so much. That eyeshadow primer trick, WOW! You may have just changed my life! Thank you Melinda for volunteering. My request for you, Jeffrey, is to please do a similar style of video with a model with real issues of very dark under eye circles or hyper pigmentation around the lips for Indian/tan skin. That would be another game changer I am sure :)

I get cystic acne too and I don't have much of a problem covering those. However, I have big patches of acne scarring on both cheeks (my cheekbone area). There isn't much texture, just dark spots. Would you recommend using concealer over those areas or just a high coverage foundation? Both areas are about one inch in diameter. This video was amazing! You two are beautiful and awesome. Great tips!!! I totally resonated with the fact that I love my skin! Especially my forehead and nose. I just have to cover those dang spots!

I wish you would make a video on how to hide acne scars. I had the chicken pox when I was 3 days old, severe acne in my teens till I was 22. Then developed rosacea at 37 and was on accutane for a couple of years. It seemed to help, and then the rosacea came back with a vengeance. So I have redness, scarring cysts that grow under the skin, and bulging tissue above my eyebrows. And the rosacea is not just the redness, it is small cysts under the skin and on the surface of the skin. Besides that, I have to sleep with a CPAP mask, and that makes my scars even wider because I am a side sleeper. What is the best makeup that can cover the acne scars, and look like you have nice skin, and not look like I am wearing a mask just to cover my skin?

Excellent video- Melinda, you are beautiful without a stitch of makeup. Jeffrey- you are incredibly talented and really enhanced Melinda's beauty. Flawless technique with layering products and minimizing texture. No cake face 🙌🏼 My biggest skin concern is dehydration, particularly in the winter with all the forced heat. I'm very vigilant about skincare but sometimes the elements make it tough to look dewy in the cold. Thanks for doing videos addressing real people skin concerns 👌🏼

Kendyl M., a tip that really helped me, is being more self aware of when I'm touching or kinda itching my nose. We all do it subconsciously, and I saw another beauty blogger suggest this. If it's a bad itch, tap over it with your beauty blender instead of using your hot and oily fingers on your nose area. I have noticed such a difference in my makeup in that area breaking down. hope that was helpful!
