I loved this Taylors Greer are my top picks. I want to be in a central location exactly in between but under 15 mins very close to downtown Greenville and within 30 mins to downtown spartenberg. Also as well having a short drive to the surounding towns like Easly Travelers rest for recreation shopping farmers markets yard sales health care ect.
I moved to Taylors after attending Furman University. Just fell in love with the area, so I have to agree it’s a great location. The downside is apparently now everyone agrees, housing is going up everywhere, traffic near us is now awful, and I get 20 calls a day from companies wanting to purchase my house. Ugh! They also text and send postcards. It’s starting to lose some of its appeal. I don’t plan on moving though.
Thank you for this. My husband and I are looking at moving to a Greenville suburb and I was dead set on TR but this video made me think twice. We’ll check it out while we’re here but I’m so glad to have a list of other places to check as well!
Very good video Aubree. I agree with you especially about fountain inn they definitely on the come up. Travelers Rest is great but the traffic is getting a little crazy. 😂 I’m in the Blackberry Valley area now so I’m still basically in TR but on the edge and I love it!
I've been a Simpsonville resident for almost nineteen years and up until 3 - 4 years ago I thought it was heaven on earth. What changed was the large (dare I say massive) influx of people moving here from other states. They are still coming and my town isn't the only one affected by this. What used to be a short, pleasant drive has become an engagement with traffic and while our politicians say they will address the issue none are actually doing anything. Our Upstate roads have been maxxed out already and there isn't room to widen them nor, except for a very, very few exceptions, add additional roads. New residential homes are going up everywhere yet no enviromental impact studies have been considered nor requirements established for the builders to assist with traffic concerns. I ask myself often why our politicians felt it necessary to approve permit after permit after permit to build knowing they were sabotaging our great communities?
Hey Aubree. My family and I are relocating and we have been out there and love it but I wanted to know your take on best spots to land if I’ll be working at the main Prisma health location in Greenville. Thank you!
To me ratings are so hard. Very personal and you just have to visit an area to know for sure. Hard for me to understand the difference between areas like Lyman vs Duncan. You can't knock one for being so far out while loving the other? It's something else. Same with Simpsonville vs Fountain Inn. We like proximity to downtown, but we are fairly used to being on the outside of downtown regions. Close enough to use them, but far enough to not be hustle and bustled to death. Seems like a ton of people would hate Five Forks for the traffic but I live in traffic that is worse. I am retired and can use the commercial areas during non peak time. Doesn't bother me where I live now too much but once in awhile it is inconvenient. I think horse people want to be further out and live in quieter areas. My mom was like that and we always loved to visit her home but all her children tended to live close to the downtown city areas. I still love the activity, restaurants, bars, etc, that comes with city areas. I just don't like the costs and the crime. Even Greenville had these aspects, which I am not eager to deal with. So, my goal is to live near downtown but far enough for homes to be newer and less expensive and crime to rate lower. That is what leads me to areas like Mauldin, Simpsonville, Five Forks and Green. Sometimes I think Taylors looks good, but sometimes I start to lump it in with downtown and areas like Sans Souci. Not sure that is fair, maybe that would be more like Wade Hampton and I am projecting. ???? Bottom line for me is I want good food selection nearby because I love to cook and am always working on different ethnic recipes, so I need access to multiple food sources. I am spoiled now and want to remain that way. LOL. Five Forks is awesome in this regard, it has close proximity to a ton of stores. I like the Brookhaven area by, or in, Greer. But the proximity to the airport worries me. I spent about an hour sitting in my car there once just waiting to see if the plane noise would bother me but never heard a single plane. ????? Crime in areas also lead me away but I know that understanding crime really requires for you to understand an area much better than I do the Greenville area. I mean the crime in Five Forks is much higher than the crime in Mauldin. But Five Forks has more centralized shopping opportunities and that is where most crime occurs anywhere. I use crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-greenville-sc/ and try to stay in the green areas. Oh well, sorry I went on so long, I could keep talking for hours. LOL. You do a good job, thanks for all your perceptions and sharing.
This video was fun to try and do. :) as far as airplanes I recently have helped two clients in the five forks/reidville areas. I think the key over there is not to be in the flight path. It’s a wonderful area! It also sounds like you would definitely like Greer for sure!
This is a great idea! Good video. I do not agree at all with Simpsonville being in C class, but this was such a cool idea for a video I'll let it pass ;)
Interesting. I look at this mainly based on my husbands law enforcement experience in the areas. 🤷🏻♀️ the areas have also had a ton of growth the last five years.
Greenville and Greer, South Carolina are too different than what you Northern folks would like. ie., Low Crime, great quality of life, and good jobs. Don’t move here. You won’t like it. Stay where you are. Ya’ll move to Detroit, Chicago, or LA.
Simpsonville had it all to me.
Convenience,Shopping,hospital,20 min drive to the airport and city.
I read that Taylors was loaded with addicts.
Everyone has different opinions. That’s not been my experience with the Taylor’s area though.
I've heard that, too.
You should try hanging out in Taylor's then hahah loads of addicts and wade Hampton is shit

Yes! I love this explanation!
You spelled Spartanburg Wrong
We were in Greenville over the weekend driving all around. We would give Greer and A ❤
Love that!!
I hope you have a good day ms.lewis

I get it! I’m glad you love it though! :)
Greer number 1
Easley is underrated. Think it’s a B minimum compared to others.

Glad it helped! Reach out to us we’d love to help with your search!
Moved to TR last year absolutely love it…

@@aubree_lewis It’s absolutely beautiful and peaceful straight up!
We just bought 3 acres on Lake Silver in Duncan! Good to know it is a good place for us to move to in 5-10 years!
Love this!
One of your best videos IMO, thanks!
Glad you think so!

Thanks for the vid 😊
You bet!
It just depends on what you want to be close to and your tolerance for traffic. I hate Taylors but to each their own.
Such a true comment. Thanks!
Greer is the best place for me
Very helpful
Glad you think so!
I always love your honesty
Honesty is important!

lol! Glad you enjoyed it! It was fun making it! Maybe my opinion of simpsonville will change tomorrow or next week 😅
Hi Aubree! I'm waiting for your video
❤
I delivered the Greenville news for several years all over the Upstate. Based on safety, Travelers Rest and Taylors would get a D from me.

This is a weird comment. I think they love this area cause, unlike this comment, people are mostly very kind and the area is beautiful.
