Thanks , yea very similar and it’s funny that you mention the Volvo ones as I’ve been doing some research and may have dug up some info that may help the TD5 community, I’ll make another video if it’s successful 👍 cheers
Injector number two on mine is gone, can i do this, rebuild it amd it would work?... Worst part about it is the last bilt towards the bulk head rounded off. Tried one of those sockets that grip the rounded one but it won't come out. Had to put it all back together and use the csr. Its really bugging me now as im stuck
It depends what’s gone on the injector, most common is the solenoid sticks open and that can’t be fixed so you’d have to replace the solenoid from another injector. Other problems can be burnt or blocked nozzles and these can be replaced with new ones and you can check all the components inside the injector too while you’re replacing the nozzle as they can seize from contamination. You’re best watching all 3 of the videos I’ve done on TD5 injectors to understand the setup. Also you should really use the special tool to undo the injector housing. As for the rounded off bolt I presume you mean one off the rocker shaft bolts, you can just use a large nut and welt to the top of the bolt through the inner part of the nut, it will undo then with the heat of welding and using the nut to undo. 🔧👍 cheers
I’m going to refurbish some 10p one but I want Delphi nozzles rather than Firad ones as they are harder steel and if I can find the correct part number for larger ones they’ll be considerably cheaper, I think that some made for a Volvo injector may fit. The DARKSIDE manifolds are nice aren’t they mate 👍 cheers
@@ColliWobblers-d1b hi, I’m good thanks, hope your well. No I haven’t done the nozzles yet as not found any other nozzles that will 100% fit that are larger.
Hi all, does anyone know the diameter of the tip, I wan t to know if I'll be able to look inside the cylinder with a camera that's 4.9 mm thick. From what I've saw the glow plug hole is even narrow. Thank Youuu
Hi mate been watching your videos and you seem to know your stuff with td5s so wondered if you could help/ answer a few questions for me. 1. Is there such things as an 11p engine? Mine says its 11p on haynes pro and is this more similar to 10 p or 15p? 2. If i have an egr delete but no remap would this cause any power issues? It throws code for egr component stuck closed but im having a lack of power past around 3k revs it just doesnt seem to pull much past and seems to lose power here. Truck is 2000 reg discovery td5 Thanks
Hi mate, the 11p is same as 10p and you can blank the EGR off without having to have it mapped out, just make sure you take the valve body off the inlet manifold and replace with flanged tube from the blacking kit. Check your turbo wastegate isn’t sticking and also you can bypass the boost solenoid so take a pipe straight from the wastegate straight to the lower boost pipe 👍 don’t worry about EGR fault codes as it won’t effect power. Cheers
@@CarJunkeez Cheers for that info mate appreciate it. Ive got Bosch diagnostics which communicates well enough to log boost pressure ect looks ok, map sensor working ok, new genuine maf which is working which gave me a lot better bottom end power it's just past 3k it's struggling. I will try bypass boost solenoid. Would this be a long-term fix or just to prove boost solenoid faulty? Wastegate moves freely. Adjusted it back slightly at it was fuel cutting when wound up so now roughly at OEM setting. Cheers
Thanks mate, I was thinking the +100% but a bit worried they will be a bit difficult to control low load fuelling, if so I would need to use +50% instead 👍 cheers
You have very steady hands, if it was me I would still be looking for the little componants on the floor😵💫
Ha ha thanks mate, yea that’s one thing I’m lucky having is steady hands 🙌 cheers 👍
I’ve never actually thought what might be inside an injector to be honest so this was quite educational for me . Nice one 👍
Cheers mate 😃 yea there’s a lot more going on inside diesel injectors than petrol ones 👍👍
Great job my friend
Interesting - not seen the guts of these before, or the VW PD units. Also similar to some Volvo ones I believe.

Have you fitted the new ones ,I have been to darkside developments and fitted manifold and turbo etc was looking at the nozzles .

The tip of the injector is 7mm diameter mate 👍 cheers
@@CarJunkeez very much appreciated 🤗
Excuse me, what is the method of weighing the sprayer from the upper screw of the column?
Thank you my friend 🙏 not sure what you mean, do you mean how to supply more fuel by changing the nozzle ? Thanks
I mean, the stick in the sprayer broke, then I weighed it again, and then the motor didn't work
How do I send you a video? Do you have WhatsApp?
@@KING-pb6dd I had the stick in the nozzle seized, I have now managed to free it 👍
Can I contact you to send you an explanatory video, my friend?
Probably something I won't be doing, but very interesting nonetheless 👍🏻
Thanks mate 😃 I’ve always wanted to know what’s inside one 👍 cheers
