Fantastic vid, like and idiot I removed the emblem with a flat head screw driver, but didn't scratch the paint. I hated the Hyundia emblem. Again, great job.
Great vid! Though I would recommend using a typical hair dryer instead of a heat gun.

Had a hard time ,used a lighter test fishing line.Went to Walmart and bought 30 lb test line in green
that worked for me.I attached it to cheap plastic sprinkler risers for handles
Did you take apart your trunk or the front end of your car to pull out the tabs before using the fishing line? or did you just break them off with the tabs still in place?
Great video. I don't know why Hyundai have owners go through this hassle as Hyundai is schizophrenic about their car identity. Imagine seeing the Toyota emblem on a Lexus vehicle? Exactly.

Have you ever removed your front badge? I just bought a 2012 4.6 in mint condition but the top of the badge on the hood emblem is chipped, half of the black paint is missing so I want to replace it. Do you know if that one also has the two tab holes behind it.

Thanks for response. I pulled it off to find out and sure enough, no holes. Ironically the badge that I removed HAD the tabs on it at one point in time but they had been cut off and removed yet the car was never in any accidents allegedly. So someone somewhere must have ordered the wrong badge and decided to cut off the tabs rather than order the correct one... I decided to leave it badgeless and just replaced the rear one with the wings.

Your NEW emblem should of had the 2 factory post to install them to the trunk. Don’t know why yours didn’t have them. Looks good.
it had them but the hole patterns are different from the US car and the Korean car. so the holes did not line up and werent the same size.
I installed with the post, much easier. I used fishing line leader-line which is strong but coated to prevent scratches. I placed a rag dipped in boiling water for few minutes on the old logo and it softened right up and pealed off with the leader line cutting the adhesive.

Why would I not buy an emblem with tabs so easier to line up with old holes for perfect placement and less chance to shift over time?
find the emblem with the tabs in the correct spot for 2015-2016 US version of the Genesis sedan and link it if it exists.

I used a hand saw you can buy at Walmart for $5. It's small with a fine blade. And then to get "deeper" below the adhesive I used my wife's cuticle cutter. Worked perfectly.

Sure would love to get the wheel emblems for the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Cant find them anywhere on the web or at the dealership. Clips must be 2" space. Ordered twice due to seller saying they fit only to find out they don't. Not interested in the sticker. Its a drag I just found tons of mold in my truck above the spare and the floor was drenched in my back seat area. It's been sitting with tarps on it for a week waiting for mechanic to come back. Hyundai dealership on Blanding in Orange Park claims they no nothing about this being a common occurrence. They also wanted almost $500 to just "try to find" the entry point of the leak. So disappointing. Must do your homework but who would have thought about checking this?
HI Kelly, My 2013 Genesis Sedan R Spec has same issue. Found out it is leaking in thru the sun roof seal into the trunk not an easy fix. Mine is dried out now as i have it in my garage. Dealer had it outside in rain. will fix it some day..
