Frankly I am glad cause usually Japan's English lessons isn't that in-dept or usually students don't go beyond what is basic unless they pursue it specifically.
@@DOT107 sounds like any country to me where english is not their main language ngl since school is only there to teach you the basic just like the grammatical rules, but anything else you have to learn it by yourself using the basis you've been taught
I for once learned english at my 12's thanks to games, meeting people who helped me understand english and talk back
so at those times I didn't understand what was the point of school teaching me english if I already know how to speak english
but around last year I understood why, because when I was given exercises I realized that while I know english, my grammar was pretty much bad such as when to use have/has based on plural or singular and such
so yeah, school is not there to teach you the language on itself
but how to structure it
@@blazingkite8983 oh you misunderstood me, this is what locals told me last year, more unusual despite Japan's trade. I can guarantee you its a problem in Japan much more so that their government had to step in at one point. Its not even a question of grammar structure. To compare it, you may have been more fluent in high school, sure, you would be grammatically wrong at that time, but you could easily understand/speak/write a single phrase easily.

Korone is the best of the HoloJP non-native speakers (like Coco), cause she actually takes classes. If you watch her Mario35 English-only stream you can see that she goes way beyond just basic conversation and can actually joke in English and such. Hachaama is decent as well, but she gets frustrated more easily and quickly goes back to Japanese.
@@AnActualDinosaur The best one is Akai Haato. She's a sweet girl and her English only stream was quite relaxing. But she's dead now... Haachama take over her body and everything goes "HAACHAMACHAMA" now...

I am really impressed that Pekora managed to translate a FULL sentence back to Flare accurately. I actually had to double take at that moment because I felt it was so unexpected. I knew she would know some basics if English and all but that was still impressive.

Though thinking about it, I have the same experience with Japanese & English, where I can/sorta understand what a sentence in the language means but I can't string words together correctly to communicate my thoughts.
Subaru was already good since she was an exchange student to Canada. Pekora on the other hand, improve a lot ever since HoloEN appeared. It seems Yagoo was giving a company wide mandate to learn English.
She's probably a little bit better at English than she lets on, some of its probably just played for cuteness/entertainment. Haato does it sometimes anyway.

@@jjQlLlLq Well, translating is way easier than talking or writing. You translate something that already exist, there is only one task required of you then. When you speak or write, you must first construct the sentence in your native language, then translate it, the writeor say it while remembering the translation. It is a way more complex thing to do.

I just watched a clip of moona risu watame and subaru and it felt like moona was a bit left out because of the language barrier but like sometimes you can see that screw the language barrier even if you understand a little everything can still work out. I’m glad to see how well all of the hololive people get along and even if there is some difficulty with the language they can still have fun together. I don’t know how to explain it but like it makes me happy to see how well they all get along.

I can relate to both Moona & Pekora. We all know that both of them are extremely shy, especially Pekora. Pekora even stated that sometimes she does not feel the urge to login into Minecraft simply because there are too many people online.
It is good to see that at the very least, Pekora finally found someone who she can "force" to listen to her English and that Moona also have the empathy to instantly understood what Pekora was trying to say.
Just seeing two extremely shy girls trying their best to communicate & slowly coming out of their shell is truly heartwarming indeed.
