When we remember that Whitebeard, at this point, was literally on life-support from being too fucking old and clashing with Shanks without even standing up from his chair, we realize that this dude held the title of "strongest pirate" for DECADES. And it was for good reason. Even being like 80 years old and needing an oxygen tube to breath properly, he was able to beat the goddamn lights outta Akainu pretty handily, and tanked like.....infinite damage points (from everyone else) without dying quite yet. Whitebeard and Kaido represent the TRUE AND ORIGINAL strength of real Yonkos back before anyone like blackbeard could even compete with them; they're from the Golden Age of pirating and are both absolute pillars of strength. If Luffy can ever beat Kaido, he will be on the level of people like these two.
Ofc healthy whitebeard can easily beat the shit out of the admirals. Whitebard had already being a pirates captain the same era as roger and xebec, he’s a walking strongest legend. And his death is sign of the ending of older generation pirates leadership

Zoro was also the first person to use faster than the eye could see movement way back in Alabasta against the army of Baroque works people. Luffy didn't get the ability until Water 7 arc with gear second. Zoro used haki, advanced haki, and the CP9's martial arts before Luffy canonically.
