Zoro's been demonstrating Haki ever since the Alabasta arc, when he first learned how to cut steel. His statement about knowing where the rocks wouldn't fall, and knowing instinctively which rock his katana was under are definite traits of Obervation Haki, and I wouldn't be surprised if his ability to cut steel is at least based in Armament Haki.
if it was observation haki, you would think he would use it at least once other time, especially during Skypia, but nope, not once has he done that pre-skip except that 1 instance. He was also surprised at the priest using mantra, despite him supposedly having it too lol

On zoro's point of view that was inner calm just as his master thaught him. If there's another thing I love about One Piece is how well two power system are integrated without one feeling better than the other! Even if Nen might be more versatile, and Stands are also awesome Hamon became useless basically, and Stands became the focus! Haki might seem way to easy, but imo you don't need more: you have observation abilities, armour that can counter Devil Fruits and willpower of those worthy to use it! And Devil Fruits having weakness like Water in a world where swimming is essential! And it's genious how Haki was used before it's official explanation! God, Oda's a mad genious and how well he keeps up with one of the longest running series without screwing stuff
the cool thing is not everyone uses haki the same. While Koby awakened to his haki while hearing voices, luffy predicted the future the first time against mihawk, and could see luffys silhoutte although not seeing him with eyes. You can read attack, count presences, or apparently even measure someones strength of haki (just like BB did with luffy at marineford, although luffy wasn't aware of it) also we have seen noone use observation haki like enel except him. his range was incredible. and thats just observation haki. My theory is that armanment haki, the more you develop it, merges with peoples abilites. like you dont see big mom and kaido use it, but you can imagine that kaido focusses a lot on his stick and big mom probably to enhance the range and strength of her df. sanji combines it with fire, minks use electricty etc. etc.
I mean, the point of stands was just Araki got tired of Hamon. It's not really 2 clashing, and after part 3, they don't deal with vamps anymore so the sunlight karate isn't as useful. I know it's cop out clanswers, but still to be considered

While I'm not the biggest fan of inherited powers or "Chosen One can use all", Bending is another example on how each main element did something totally different while later-on being added subtypes of bending, something that can used from anywhere, plus characters who don't bend to use pure skill, training and weapons: filled with land, air more, water plenty and fire from the user's own body! It's not really easy to add multiple things and to keep them ballanced but Oda did it
Everyone is capable of learning and mastering Observation and Armament Haki. However, only one in a million people are born with the ability to learn and use Conqueror Haki. If you are not one of those rare individuals like Rayleigh, Luffy and Hancock, then you are unable to use Conqueror Haki no matter how hard you try.

WARNING SPOILERS IN WANO ARC In wano haki is known as ryou and that is where the advanced armament that rayleigh used was first introduced. Realising that luffy can't beat kaido in his normal armament "black coated fist" he decided to train the advanced armament "invisible armor" which also can be used to coat your punches to hit beneath the armor and hurt almost invincible enemies within their inside.

Gear 2 is a technique possible from the Rubber rubber fruit power, it is just a title of his 'move'. Second Gear lets Luffy chunk up all his blood in one location (arm or leg) and let's this accelerate trough his vanes (increased heart rate,etc), a normal person could not handle this pressure, but since he is made of rubber his body get's faster and thus makes his punches invisible to the human eye (Jet pistol, Jet Gatling). The downside of second gear is it decreases his life span dramatically.

uhm no....lucci misunderstood the transformation as a form of doping....so no it doesnt decrease his life span...he can use it...the limited time and the exhaustion after the transformation are the only downsides of it
The downside is there it's just haven't made its way to luffy's age yet since the characters live up to 150 years in one piece earth that is much bigger than ours (this also explains the power deference between us and them), so yeah from 150 to probably 60 or 50 as an estimate is a dramatic decrease in life span
I like how the haki's were introduced (the order). In whole cake island luffy got adv. Observation haki. In wano adv. Armament haki. Next Adv. Conquorer's Haki.
Everyone in the new world having Haki is just how it works. On remote islands in the East Blue, people don’t believe devil fruits really exist, but in Paradise a lot of people have one. In Paradise, people don’t believe Haki really exists, but in the New World a lot of people have it.
Luffy already had 2 haki before training with Rayleigh. Observation and Conqueror's haki. He accidentally used observation haki during his fight against Mihawk, he nearly got his hand chopped.

The narrative rules usually dictate that such concepts should be explained at the beginning, but one piece broke down haki in +500th episode! Even when it was foreshadowed, mentioned or renamed so many times in the past. Every one piece fan waited for this lecture with so much passion, and I think Oda was just waiting for the correct master, a legend like Rayleigh, and of course a worth pupil like luffy. Fter so many years, I finally get philosophy behind OP powersystem. Human/ creature = consciousness(soul) + DNA DNA hacks = Devil fruit, mastery enhanced through adaptabilty (evolution/ survival) Haki. People often forfet in English this word is Willpower Consciousness can harness power with Willpower, easy straightforward. willpower sources then divided into three categories. 1. ambition, how strong you desire and how big your dream is = conqueror's 2. determination, how unbreakable your will is for yout words = armament 3. empathy, how much you feel and understand others = observation This is pure genius.
It’s head canon but it reminds me of when Chopper’s mentor told him the strongest of pirates can see as far as a hawk, protect themselves from damage or intimidate others He might have b even talking about Haki. Maybe he didn’t know exactly what it was but knew these principles were from some mysterious power
To those guys still bothering why we can't see much armament haki before timeskip, reread it again. Rayleigh says "invisible armor", which means it's still invisible but Oda decided to add color for readers to see when armament haki is being used. "Eiichiro Oda has said multiple times that Haki is colorless and invisible in the One Piece world, and that the color change is for fans so they can tell when Haki is being used."
The legendary reveal of chapter 1010! Conqueror's Haki can be applied to an attack to make it more potent and powerful, just like armament haki, but on a more powerful scale. Only the strong individuals can use it, just like how Kaido stated it to be. Conqueror's Haki imbued attacks are strong enough to knock down Hybrid Form Kaido. Luffy did it without using his gears 🔥

It's completely different, a devil fruit becomes one users nature (as mentioned in the manga it alters your bloodstream.) Haki is something anyone can achieve by themselves, and can enhance your devil fruit powers (ecampl: Red Hawk move by Luffy). It can also nullify a devil fruit (if your Haki is strong enough even a Logia users defense is beaten) Not much is known about Haki yet, except for the three forms. Maybe there is a relation between devil fruits and haki. Void Century........

BH ≠ Tekkai. Tekkai doesn´t give you the ability to "nullify" DFs. KH ≠ Kami-e. Kami-e is much more like Gomu Gomu no Baka. You can´t attack while using it, neither can you feel any kind of presence. Sky Walk = Gopu, true. But Sanji "upgraded" it: Blue Walk. :) G2 ≈ / ≠ Soru. Soru was the inspiration. The movement also seems to be Soru but the attacks in itself aren´t Soru. Rokuougan is much more like a Dial than Gyojin Karate (which plays with water molecules inside of one)
Before devil fruit is just a myth after entering grandline, most of the charcter have that ability.. Now conqueror hqki introuced, only few or 1 in a million can use that, after time skip every enemy of luffy have also a conqueror haki.
The new world is the official hotspot for the biggest and most powerful pirate crews, I mean, all of the Yonkos live there so it’s no brainer Haki and Conqueror’s are more frequent there.

One piece has like multiple power systems and can be its own anime (Devil Fruit, sword, Haki, Styles)
Haki is just straight up better than devil fruits though, you can reach the top tiers of power without a devil fruit but you can't do so without Haki.

In wano haki is known as ryou and that is where the advanced armament that rayleigh used was first introduced. Realising that luffy can't beat kaido in his normal armament "black coated fist" he decided to train the advanced armament "invisible armor" which also can be used to coat your punches to hit beneath the armor and hurt almost invincible enemies within their inside.

Gear 2 is a technique possible from the Rubber rubber fruit power, it is just a title of his 'move'. Second Gear lets Luffy chunk up all his blood in one location (arm or leg) and let's this accelerate trough his vanes (increased heart rate,etc), a normal person could not handle this pressure, but since he is made of rubber his body get's faster and thus makes his punches invisible to the human eye (Jet pistol, Jet Gatling). The downside of second gear is it decreases his life span dramatically.

The downside is there it's just haven't made its way to luffy's age yet since the characters live up to 150 years in one piece earth that is much bigger than ours (this also explains the power deference between us and them), so yeah from 150 to probably 60 or 50 as an estimate is a dramatic decrease in life span

The narrative rules usually dictate that such concepts should be explained at the beginning, but one piece broke down haki in +500th episode! Even when it was foreshadowed, mentioned or renamed so many times in the past. Every one piece fan waited for this lecture with so much passion, and I think Oda was just waiting for the correct master, a legend like Rayleigh, and of course a worth pupil like luffy. Finally, I mean, finally!
I remember in episode 4 when Shanks used Haoshoku no Haki on that sea monster, I thought it was the most amazing thing ever.

Conqueror's Haki can be applied to an attack to make it more potent and powerful, just like armament haki, but on a more powerful scale. Only the strong individuals can use it, just like how Kaido stated it to be.

It's completely different, a devil fruit becomes one users nature (as mentioned in the manga it alters your bloodstream.) Haki is something anyone can achieve by themselves, and can enhance your devil fruit powers (ecampl: Red Hawk move by Luffy). It can also nullify a devil fruit (if your Haki is strong enough even a Logia users defense is beaten)
Not much is known about Haki yet, except for the three forms. Maybe there is a relation between devil fruits and haki. Void Century........
