Great to see the range of work you do in just one week, insightful to see how you set your days up to maximise productivity to keep on top of a busy schedule too
For sure!! I can do something like that. Often I go live on TikTok whilst I’m editing, if you’re interested in that! Also, as for gig photos, a lot of the work I do requires live editing, where we edit on site between sets, so that changes the workflow a lot.
Would love to see a video on your work flow, timeline, and process of getting edits out to clients. You mentioned you sent the e-com photos like within two days I was like “wow such a quick turnaround”! Do you typically retouch e-com edits?
For sure! For turnarounds I tend to try and get things done as efficiently as possible so that it doesn’t all build up and catch up with me when I’m busy shooting. For e-com work, I’ll retouch the background but I don’t do skin or clothing retouching unless the client has paid additional. For this shoot, it was a lot easier because the client liked the wood on the floor so the number of photos I had to retouch the background for was really small (maybe only around 10). Because of that, I’m essentially just adding and adjusting a grade and also adjusting the crop, so whilst it’s still time consuming, it’s much more a quick process than retouching each image.
Look after your back. I did something to my back while shooting around 2007 and despite severe pain, I didnt get it checed out. Now I have to seriously nurse it through the day. Great video.
Great to see this series back and to see Manchester shown so nicely. Albert Hall is an old methodist church that was run down and taken over as a music venue mainly. Think its owned by the same people ss Albert Schloss.
Thank you! And yes, it is ran by Albert Schloss! I’ve worked for the venue a couple of times and it’s a beautiful venue to shoot at when you have full access - this time I was shooting for press though and the stage is so high up in comparison to the pit, which isn’t ideal 🤣
@@SophiaCarey I found that out the hard way when I saw Michael Kiwanuka from the front row and could barely see anything. It's such a beautiful venue when they get the lighting right.
I think your passion is truly inspirational and the videos are awesome As a film and digital shooter what percentage of your work would you say your film work is compared to digital Cheers
Thank you! I would say that the majority of my paid work is digital (like 90%) and the majority of my personal work is film. The personal work is usually what I put on UA-cam, I probably do a personal shoot every 2 months or so
Yes! I have a few videos specifically about the business of photography but if there are specific things you want me to cover then please let me know. And no, when shooting film, I keep the negatives and deliver just the digital scans.
I LOVE that your week in the life is back! 🥳
Ahh good, I'll definitely try to do more!
@@SophiaCarey Yes, please do. These are awesome!
@@marcels.6514 I’m so glad, thank you!

Thanks for watching Gareth! I'm glad you could find some value in it too!
Love this Vlog Style format Sophia. Well shot and put together 🤩🙌
Thank you Sujan! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting! Hats off to you for managing such a busy week. Especially photographing into the night and then returning early for such a busy day!
Would really love to see an editing workflow video. Amazed at how fast you get suff done!
(would particularly love to see editing gig/ concert/ event photos as I find they can be extra challenging)
