Fondant is a pliable sugar-based dough that can be formed into various shapes or rolled out for covering cakes or making beautiful decorations! Watch this video and learn how to knead, roll, and store fondant properly!
I just love how fondant makes amazing cakes or cupcakes, I just hate its taste and its difficult handling in a city like mine where everything is super humid and hot.
I have this issue 3 seasons a year, it is definitely challenging! I like my winter cakes, so much easier though then the furnace dries the fondant and it wants to crack. Can't win.
Can you use something other than shortening to lock in the moisture of the fondant? I just wrapped my fondant that I coloured and planned to use later in cling/saran wrap and stored it in an airtight container in my pantry.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend a substitute for shortening. If you prefer not to use shortening, try double or triple wrapping fondant tightly in plastic wrap before storing in an airtight container. If the fondant dries out a little, you can try kneading a very small amount of water into the fondant to add moisture back in.
Thank you Mam sharing wonderful knowledge about fondant.kindly tell me when we take out its from freezer ,how much time will it take to use it. When its room temperature or we do other else.??
dsathirax I think you can but if you aren’t careful you would definitely be able to taste it.. i know you commented awhile ago but thought I would help
