Fabulous job, you two! Great camerawork and excellent commentary! Just enough, and not too much---just my style!! Bravo for the well deserved scary music going up the mountain!💗🤣
That was amazing once again. I have seen heaps of docos about Pompeii, but I learnt far more from your video. So amazing how those cities were buried for such a long time and became forgotten. Thank you xo
Another super video, you definitely visited both Vesuvius and Pompeii at the right time of year - less busy, cooler temperatures! Both are must-see's and we want to revisit. Thanks for the informative commentary and excellent footage.
@ I (Andy) haven’t had the chance to yet, but did Vesuvius and Pompeii in a day. I’ve heard several people recommending Herculaneum, alongside your footage, so that will be on our list for the future. I didn’t realise they were no longer continuing with excavations but I can understand why.
Another great video. Although I've been to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast many times, I've only visited Pompei and Vesuvius once and that was a long time ago. Must go back again. Look forward to the next part of your Italian journey. Happy New Year!
I think you picked a great time of year to visit. No crowds and for a ginger Scotsman would also avoid the summer heat. Very informative video - must try and get there.
Loving watching your travel adventures. I love Italy. I hope you go down to Sicily. My mum came from Pozzallo where you can get a ferry across to Malta.
Just watched your video. We did go to Pompeii but not Mt V nor Herculaneum. That was great Sue & Nigel. Cannot wait to see more :) Happy new year by the way. May 2025 be a good one for you both :)
@nigelandsueadventures jealous! My son and his wife who live in Seattle were down in New Zealand over the holidays and got in some open water swimming as well. Just ice here 🥶
Amalfi coast is simply spectacular, but dont' miss the opportunity to visit the archaeological site of Paestum (half hour driving from Salerno), for me it was kind of a mystical experience. That is also the region where they produce the best mozzarella in Italy! 🙂
So cool to see Pompeii. I did Mt Etna in ‘07 with Intrepid tours 🌋 new to your channel and loved reliving my time in Italy with your videos. Great work guys. 🙏💐🇦🇺
Great to visit the old cities again.. I remember there was some sort of art exhibition there when I went in 2019, which was distracting I thought. Never got to the crater so thank you so much for taking me there and showing some really speccy pics of the views too. :)
I am as yet to go to Pompeii. Have been to a wonderful exhibition from there at Melbourne Museum, but your video is amazing. Incredible to be in situ. So extensive too. Really touching to see those bodies caught in time. Hercalanium is amazing too. Looks even better than Pompeii. Xan you smell any sulphur at Vesuvius? It looks pretty quiet at present. Breathtaking views. Looks like a lovely stopover place. Love the doggie. So looking forward to the Amalfi Coast. Hope Nigel recovered quickly from being unwell! Brilliant episode!
Awesome video ,thanks for sharing...i had to know what was on the rubbish bin..umido...means moist or humid..so its a green waste bin...phew i can sleep tonight now lol. Safe travels x
Happy New Year for 2025 to you both🎉 ❤ your video and narration. I didn't know about Herculaneum so thank you 👏 looking forward to your next video with excitement. Much ❤️ from Melbourne Australia 🦘
Its just the meaning of sosta. I didnt notice any writings.but a parking spot in italian can be "parcheggio" sometimes they use english parking and they can also use "area di sosta" which would mean a "place to stopover"
Tragic and fascinating at the same time. It must be quite a sensation to see these places like they were frozen in time for 2000 years. About Vesuvius, I can't listen its name without remembering "Magica De Spell" from Duck Tales.
Can’t believe I was there with my boys just 6wks ago. The Amalfi coast was tight but very interesting. Bit disappointed with Positano. We loved Pompeii but didn’t know about the theatre and the other city hit by Mt Vesuvius. I wish we had seen it.
Love ancient history and have no issue with phallic symbols they are common in many civilisations it's only us modern prudish types that find them funny or wrong. There is supposedly another volcano but more within Naples itself from a documentary video I saw. My preference is ancient greece mind you but still interesting ancient roman.
Love the music you used this time. More like a documentary. Really enjoyed it. 🎉
Thanks Denise! I wasn’t sure about the music here, but it’s great to see people are enjoying it!
Excellent Editing. It’s great to hear an Australian accent on a travelogue.
Thank you! Glad you like the accent - I wonder how the UA-cam auto dubbing goes with it!
Just loving your tours of Italy. Thanks so much ❤
Thanks for watching! We are having a blast in Italy
Fabulous job, you two! Great camerawork and excellent commentary! Just enough, and not too much---just my style!! Bravo for the well deserved scary music going up the mountain!💗🤣
I spend WAY too much time on the music selection!!
Great to see the 2 sites without all the summer crowds
Yes it is nice to not be too crowded!
Excellent Nigel and Sue impressed with your presentation really enjoy you videos
Thanks Colleen, glad you’re enjoying the show.
That was amazing once again. I have seen heaps of docos about Pompeii, but I learnt far more from your video. So amazing how those cities were buried for such a long time and became forgotten. Thank you xo
Thanks! It is such a fascinating place, we were totally engrossed!
We are just loving this series around Italy , Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks, we love sharing our travels with you all!
So awesome! Thanks so much for taking us with you! Sue, you are amazing with your videos and commentary! Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words. We had a great time re-visiting Pompeii and seeing Herculaneum and Vesuvius for the first time
A truly fascinating place! What a privilege to still be able to explore this historical caldera!
It really is. I was so excited when we saw the steam!
@nigelandsueadventures That would have scared me a little lol
Another super video, you definitely visited both Vesuvius and Pompeii at the right time of year - less busy, cooler temperatures! Both are must-see's and we want to revisit. Thanks for the informative commentary and excellent footage.
Have you been to Herculaneum? We wish we had spent more time there
@ I (Andy) haven’t had the chance to yet, but did Vesuvius and Pompeii in a day. I’ve heard several people recommending Herculaneum, alongside your footage, so that will be on our list for the future. I didn’t realise they were no longer continuing with excavations but I can understand why.
Happy new year, and looking forwards to more!
Thank you. I loved revisiting the ruins with you both.
We’re so glad you enjoyed it! Have you been to the top of Vesuvius?
@@nigelandsueadventures No not to the top, but the ruins.
Excellent video, Sue & Nigel
So much in Italy to see..
All the best in your travels
Waiting for next video.😊
Thanks for watching, we are loving Italy!
Another great video. Although I've been to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast many times, I've only visited Pompei and Vesuvius once and that was a long time ago. Must go back again. Look forward to the next part of your Italian journey. Happy New Year!
Thanks Christine! It’s a wonderful part of the country.
Glad you recovered from the road. I would have been queasy too! Great tour of the area!!
Yeah, it was a very bumpy ride! Worth it though, it was awesome to see Vesuvius from the top.
I think you picked a great time of year to visit. No crowds and for a ginger Scotsman would also avoid the summer heat. Very informative video - must try and get there.
Oh Glen you should. It’s a great place to visit, and really pleasant in winter
Wow guys Pompei is one of those places I would love to see thank you both for your lovely videos
It’s definitely worth a visit! We took over an hour of footage!!
Loving watching your travel adventures. I love Italy. I hope you go down to Sicily. My mum came from Pozzallo where you can get a ferry across to Malta.
We are in Sicily now… videos will be coming out over the next few weeks. We are loving it!
Really interesting. Thanks for sharing 👍
Love your direct info and accompanying music. How do you choose the soundtracks?
Thank you!
Thanks @terriloughlin5437, we have a subscription to a music service, and then I just spend a lot of time listening to different tracks
Wow wow wow i was on the edge of my seat with the bus trip lol. You got to go to one of the places i wish we had of gone to.
We’ve been to Pompeii so many times when we worked for Contiki, so it was great to finally go up the volcano!
We went to Delphi but it's nothing like Pompeii
Just watched your video. We did go to Pompeii but not Mt V nor Herculaneum. That was great Sue & Nigel. Cannot wait to see more :) Happy new year by the way. May 2025 be a good one for you both :)
Cheers Rina, we had never been to those two places either. So worth a visit!
Good to see warmer weather in the winter!
We even had a quick swim in the ocean this week!
@nigelandsueadventures jealous! My son and his wife who live in Seattle were down in New Zealand over the holidays and got in some open water swimming as well. Just ice here 🥶
`Seen many Doco's on this area! But your video was great! Thanks Bill Mc
Cheers Bill, glad you enjoyed it!

So cool to see Pompeii. I did Mt Etna in ‘07 with Intrepid tours 🌋 new to your channel and loved reliving my time in Italy with your videos. Great work guys. 🙏💐🇦🇺
Thanks for joining the adventure! We are hoping to visit Etna this week.
Fantastic. Thank you again.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for coming back each week.
Great to visit the old cities again.. I remember there was some sort of art exhibition there when I went in 2019, which was distracting I thought. Never got to the crater so thank you so much for taking me there and showing some really speccy pics of the views too. :)
Visiting the crater was so high on my list!!

It really is an incredible place to visit. We wish we’d had more time at Herculaneum. We are still working on slowing down!
Cheers Fiona, no we couldn’t smell sulphur or anything at Vesuvius. And yeah we definitely recommend adding Herculaneum to your itinerary here!
Awesome video ,thanks for sharing...i had to know what was on the rubbish bin..umido...means moist or humid..so its a green waste bin...phew i can sleep tonight now lol. Safe travels x
Yes it’s for compostable food scraps.
Assim como Pompeia, Ercolano é muito bem conservada
I was there in 2023 , loved it❤❤❤
It’s amazing isn’t it?
Happy New Year for 2025 to you both🎉 ❤ your video and narration. I didn't know about Herculaneum so thank you 👏 looking forward to your next video with excitement. Much ❤️ from Melbourne Australia 🦘
Thanks so much! We love sharing our travels with you all!
Actually sosta means stopover,a place or a time to stop, take a pause .
Thanks! Yes, that should be in the written caption on screen?
Its just the meaning of sosta. I didnt notice any writings.but a parking spot in italian can be "parcheggio" sometimes they use english parking and they can also use "area di sosta" which would mean a "place to stopover"

It is such a fascinating place and so well preserved!
Can’t believe I was there with my boys just 6wks ago. The Amalfi coast was tight but very interesting. Bit disappointed with Positano. We loved Pompeii but didn’t know about the theatre and the other city hit by Mt Vesuvius. I wish we had seen it.
Tight is a good way to describe it!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤
Thank youuuuuuu 🧡🧡🧡
😁
Stunning. Great photography and that road - very hectic.
Yeah I wouldn’t want to do that again in a bus!!
Love ancient history and have no issue with phallic symbols they are common in many civilisations it's only us modern prudish types that find them funny or wrong. There is supposedly another volcano but more within Naples itself from a documentary video I saw. My preference is ancient greece mind you but still interesting ancient roman.
That’s interesting, we haven’t heard of that volcano, but there are several others in Italy
