The late 60's through early 70's Carson is the best! All things considered though Johnny was the G O A T! Well done interview!
Joe Frazier was great👍🇺🇲
Rest in peace both 💚💚
Carson actually had an undefeated amateur boxing record in the Navy, so I've read.
He had a record of 10-0, fighting at 160lbs during his time in the US Navy.
@@petesmitt 👍. Right! I think Carson is playing ignorant for the sake of comedy and being polite to Frazier, I suspect.
@@petesmitt Then he should have known how to strike the speed bag. Even teenage golden glovers can do that, and it's something you never forget how to do.
@@eriksturdevant8589 You've obviously never sparred with a pro, let alone a heavyweight champ. Carson at his best and most youthful wouldn't have lasted thirty seconds with Frazier.
@@yankee2666 All I said was that he was an undefeated amateur. Relax.
Smokin Joe was a true American and perfect world Champion.. it's a shame that he isn't champion of the world TODAY . he would be beloved by the whole world over . He represented the purity of boxing and the honor and integrity of the sport.... And that is everlasting!
Carson is King
This is so great…I love these. You just doesn’t get any better this…Johnny Carson ♥️
Loved Smokin Joe Frazier! RIP
He was a favorite of mine too.
Such a great segment. Punching the deflated balloon 🤣
I love it when he has the legendary boxers on his show. Dope 100
This video is great to understand the size of Joe Frazier. Like Mike Tyson, it can be hard to appreciate his size because of his height. Both men stand, or stood, at 5'10" - 5'11", but their frames are massive, Even though Frazier is close in height to Carson and shorter than McMahon, his frame dwarfs both of them.
5'10 tops. Carson was 5' 11
Also amazed at the intelligence of Frazier and manner of speaking.
Many boxers of his era may have come from Blue-Collar backgrounds, but were very articulate in the way in which they spoke.
ALI!
2 great guys! No egos! Old school best school 💖❤️🙏
Joe Frazier , one of the classiest Champs that ever lived … Most don’t know that he lobbied the Boxing Commission to help Clay/Ali get his license re-instated .
He also gave Ali/Clay a ton of money .
We all know how he paid that generosity back …. He bad mouth the World & called him an Uncle Tom ….
Hope Stallone clarifies who the Real Rocky was … Frasier !!
Stallone owes Philadelphia that much !! 🎉🎉😮
It doesn’t seem that Sly is ever going to set the record straight he’s too busy making lousy movies.
Oh, the irony! as everyone knows there’s a statue of the fake boxer Rocky Balboa on the steps of that famous building in Philly, but not one of the real Rocky Joe Frazier 😢 life is full of these kind of ironic sad stories.
One of the funniest Carson videos I've ever seen.
Carson is a good actor. He was a boxer in his youth
Thank You for these
with the courage to begin, and the discipline to endure, victory becomes a matter of time.
Not against a Joe Frazier it doesn't.
Smokin' Joe Frazier...🥊
Loved Joe Frazier ❤❤❤
Joe should’ve challenged George to a balloon blowing contest.
Big George demolished Frazier, it was horrible actually, saw the fight on live television in Jan 73 with my uncle.
Smokin Joe Frazier!
One of the best ever!
Wow! He called him "Clay" at 1: 35...
Joe was just returning volley at Ali. During that time, Ali made fun of Frazier, he called Frazier a gorilla and an Uncle Tom.
9:40 a good way to blow out your knee ligaments..
If this was The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he would have Joe Frazier playing pictionary with Ariana Grande, The Foo Fighters, and Carrot Top...😒
Yes sir. Joe Frazier is not making this up... The world of professional boxing is big business. The boxer does not choose who he wants to fight. I miss the old days... when a mans word meant something. No games no ratings schemes best man wins. No Politics for crying out loud! Much Peace Joe...
Such an important name in the sport of boxing
14:04 Carson already cultivating that desperate "comb-over" atop the ol' noggin.
Smokin' Joe Frazier. Dropped Ali in their first fight. Both boxers were great champions.
. Johnny was 10 and 0 as an amateur boxer during his Navy service during World War II.
I was going to post that Carson must have been clowning a little bit because he was a pretty good boxer in the Navy, but I didn't realize he's 10-0. And he was obviously in very good shape for a 47 year old man here.
Frazier was well spoken
Amazing. However, I remember Joe's fight with Foreman. He was dismantled. Literally and figuratively..
don't tell anyone i told you, but bet on foreman.
Thanks for the tip on the down low...🥊
Smoking Joe 👍
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Remember when people respected each other? Me neither.
I thought that Joe was a great champion! Yes, he lost twice to George Foreman! To my knowledge, Joe didn’t avoid other fighters when he had the belt. When George Foreman was the new and arguably toughest kid on the block, Joe, against the advice of his manager, fought him and lost. To quote George Foreman, “they stopped the fight, they didn’t stop Joe Frazier.” Joe was gracious in victory and in defeat. I liked Muhammad Ali, but he was so cruel to Joe.
Clay was an fairly adept, clown.
He lost to foremen in a slugfest. He didn’t know you couldn’t out punch foremen. Ali said after he fought Frazier it was closest he came to dying.
Would not be Johnny there. Joe basically turned Ali into a vegetable.
Joe would have been better taking on Johnny than George. He got destroyed both times they fought.
