I'm always unnerved/depressed by the more recent (though less infamous) Pokemon example of the little ghost girl at the Trainer School in Ultra Sun/Moon. You spend the whole time with her dispelling creepy rumors that the school is haunted, then it turns out that, by all appearances, a Drifloon snatched her away a while back.
@@komplex8091 fan theory: termina is Link's purgatory in a timeline where he is defeated by Ganon in Ocarina of Time. "Game Theorists" has a youtube vid about it. really fun watch

Awesome video tiny Pete! Luv all Urs and Ben's videos! Been watchin yall since that company that won't b named and subbed to both Vidiots and Triple Jump! Keep up Awesome work!! Luv Yall, My Dudes!!
Mad Monster Mansion from Banjo Kazooie! I had to get my mum to do the part where you shoot eggs into the flower vases. The headstones chasing you and the creepy “Thaaaaaank yooooouuuu” terrified me.
I'll say, the introduction of Mimikyu in Sun/Moon made me crap my spine out cause I hadn't played previous games, so I had no idea there was a "weirdass ghost impersonating a Pikachu" Pokemon when I started following the little fella into a haunted house, so when I looked down and this horrid little ghost thing shrieked, "LOOK AT ME!!!" or whatever it was.
I wish one of these Top 10 videos (or "Worst Games") got about 1 million views. I very much want Triple Jump to evolve and improve... also for them to be financially viable! Holy shit, the Psychonauts spookems. I was trying to forget that one!
Holy crap Dead Hand! Okay, so just for frame of reference, I never had a Nintendo system as a kid. My cousin got a GameCube when it was on its way out the door and the Wii was making some serious waves. He borrowed a copy of Ocarina of Time for the GameCube (the one with Masterquest ie. the greatest preorder bonus of all time) and we played it when I was sleeping over at his house. We were both 11 at the time, it was past midnight and we were determined to make our way through the Bottom of the Well. The entirety of that dungeon unnerved us both, but when we actually encountered Dead Hand we were absolutely terrified! That thing still creeps me out to this day.
You gotta give Andross credit. His face, head and presumably his skull completely combust and break away after being fired upon by lasers several times in sequence. And what does he do first? Make a beautiful pun: "Only I have the brains to rule Lylat!"
You forgot the Submerged Castle from Pikmin 2! The soundtrack and water wraith monster hunting you after a certain time limit made that cave the stuff of nightmares
I absolutely loved the N64 Zelda games but they were seriously terrifying to my teenage self. Raccoon city has nothing on the sublime horror of Hyrule.
Some of these games were released before The ESRB introduced the rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and up) rating in 2005 possible because of Lego Star Wars The Video game in 2005 which is the one only focusing on the prequels even though the game was rated E (For Everyone) it had tons of moments were your Lego character or the bad guys get killed and crumble in Lego pieces and some death too intense for a rated E game
I love the original Spider-Man game on PS one to the point where I literally bought it on Dreamcast and N64 as well and I got to say monster off is one of the coolest and creepiest things and I wish it was part of the official Canon and made an appearance in a movie or TV show.
I think Super Mario 3D Land and another recent Mario game had a really scary secrets too: in one of the boo mansion level, waiting at a preciae time left on the timer, a white face with black eyes and mouth looks at you for a few second and then leaves. I watched a video of that and the Galaxy watchers as a kid and coudn't sleep for a week. Innocent games I played had alien monster watching my every move from shadows?

That piano fucked me up as a kid. Peter's right, the early days of 3D gaming were bloody terrifying.

The moon you're referencing isn't in Hyrule. Absolutely agree with it though.

Glad you guys mentioned dead hand but if you dig deeper into the location that he’s in it’s a torture chamber... in a rated E/pegi 3 game!
