The Slaws are on their late summer holiday and driving the Fairytale Route in Germany in Helga their Hobby motorhome, with Billy & Jessie their Lhasa Apso dogs.
In this episode it is an eventful morning as they try to leave Bad Karlshafen! They finally arrive at Campingplatz Hameln an der Weser. 28 euros per night, no ehu, showers included, but they are parked on the car park much to Slaw's disgust!

It's a short walk into town where they watch the famous outdoor play of the Pied Piper before a great afternoon at Pflasterfest!

Fond memories of that area, made me remember crossing the Weiser in my tank on a pontoon bridge at night with no lights! Great VLOG.

Look at the view across that river...breathtaking. Loved Hamlyn. There was a stellplatz not far from the town and it didnt cost as mu h as your campsite. Didnt you worry someone would take your gear when you were dancing?
Hi Pamela, we booked the campsite weeks before the trip to be sure we could arrive in the morning, park up and walk into the town centre for the play at 12 noon. You can’t do that on a stellplatz. No we didn’t worry about our gear. It was with the vicious hounds 🤣

Aww if your still in Germany check out the Tecknik museum in Spyer, they have a campsite right at the museum, it’s an absolutely amazing place to be and the town is stunning!

Thank you! Advice is to get the book that we show in our maps section (not on this one though 🤦🏻♀️) Plan how long you have, where you want to go, then plot your route to personalise your trip 👍🏻

Great video but you may lose my German wife as a subscriber because of your overuse of German oompah music. It is stereotypical.
Apologies if your wife is offended by our choice of music. We really like it. It has us toe tapping all the time and lots of subscribers have also said they enjoy the vibe it gives too. Sadly, we can’t please everyone all the time. Hope she can stick with us. Another four or five German vlogs to come 👍🏻
I’m sure she will. As fellow content creators, we know how difficult it is to find the right music to convey the correct atmosphere in a video so I’m sure she doesn’t really mean it. Our videos are about Ireland, specifically the west and to get Irish music that doesn’t bring to mind pictures of leprechauns dancing is not easy 😂😂😂
