- momsdragginwagon@gmail.com... one of the few 3/4 sized models from the 70s. This is the model 1040. with 7 built in stitches as well as an automatic buttonholer built in, with hard carrying case/cover.
I bought this machine in 1973 and have used it all these years, And I found another so now have duals to be ready to use for 2 different projects. This machine is a workhorse, is now considered semi-industrial since the mechanism is all metal. I have sewn every type of fabric, from silk to denim and even canvas. I have never taken it for service, I do oil and maintenance myself. This is a dandy machine, I love it dearly. They don't make them like this anymore .....
My parents bought me this machine new in 1974. I used it exclusively until 2001 when I got my first Bernina. I wouldn't part with it for anything. It's a great little machine!
Just opeing the case is like a puzzle box lol. Buttons by the handle, buttons by the bottom, flip chrome latches..
Great video. I recently inherited one of these machines. It has all of the original parts, but no manual. I have never used a sewing machine, but would love to learn. Have you considered a How-to video? :)
I have the same, been using for years. Just different color.
Just bought a very dirty one at the flea market for $6.00. Inside, I found a vendor's note from 1975 to the original owner two towns away saying she bought a good machine.
sounded like killer coil oiling machine
Kinda looks like mine a 158 10500 how do iI get at the bobbin?????
I have no instruction manual!!
Just normal bobbin, sewing shop stores have them.
What is the voice whispering at 4:34?
my husband mentions it's a good quilting group machine (I think)
