These episodes we're intense! Rock Lee and Gaara are so strong, and their fight is definitely full of twists and turns! But I just want Lee to win so bad!

Nobody has a Naruto “phase”. The moment we saw Lee drop those weights, we were in it for life.
for me it was naruto going kyubi mode on haku, I actually read that in the manga in 2004 before the anime was even out and i was in for the long haul lol

And yeah this fight is what hooked a lot of people on Naruto. It was just pure fire.
Most people got hooked right on zabuza arc but yeah, dropping weights is one of the most iconic anime moments
One of the greatest fights in Naruto. Lee backstory on being a ninja who doesn't have the gifts that others are blessed with. But his determination and willingness to never give up is why he's such a fan favorite. Because he's so relatable and his story is very inspirational. To see him struggle in this fight with Gaara makes you root for him. If you want to know about Gaara backstory? Let just say when you get to that point. You will understand why he's the way he is.
That fight was animated by Norio Matsumoto, well known for his very detailed fight choreography style, he animated most of the best fight later on in this series, so except some fire stuff like that again, also Lee is the goat
yeah hes done a bunch of work for other shows too, kind of like a hired gun for the big sakuga moments in anime
Gaara's fighting style is similar to that of a desert spider, initially observing the enemy's attacks from one point. he provokes, exhausts the opponent and then ends the fight with his deadly attack. Despite his mental imbalance, Gaara is cunning, intelligent, and very dangerous. Lee, in turn, is straightforward and tries to solve everything with brute force. Lee's story is very touching. It is a pity that the child had a desire to assert itself under the pressure of society. At the tournament, almost all the children are like that. Society puts pressure on them and there is a need to prove the opposite. This is called in psychiatry - hypercompensation. I sincerely feel sorry for the children, they must develop their needs and not prove something to someone. But it's probably a plot point.
