Today we are going to look at the USS Excelsior D.
This is one strange looking ship. It's armed with the hilarious shockwave torpedoes.
We're going to put it up against the USS Basestar, Death Star 2, A Borg Cube and a Super Star Destroyer.
Played in Star Trek Bridge Commander Kobayashimaru.

Dock with starbase. The multi vector didn't work in starbase. Not enough room 😂😂 that was funny. Try friendly fire a shock wave while inside starbase. 😅😅
That would make a great oberth class 2.0
I’ve noticed that the Shockwave torpedo helps to lower the targets shields.
Leave it to Retrobadger to warp out of the way of the Deathstar superlaser only to make the Deathstar spin erratically and then getting destroyed by the superlaser😅 Almost as iconic as his cloaking mishaps😂
I'd like to see a new Oberth based on that Excelsior.
Those shockwave torps work against you by spinning the other ship and exposing you to all their firing arcs

That is an ODD ship, the little one. It's like a Sovereign saucer that landed backwards on a smaller ship's stardrive. And then the shockwave torpedoes, they are just ridiculous. And now I just saw you hit the disco ball with the dancing torpedoes. Wow.
imagine those shockwave torps and the blue disco balls hitting at the same time...lol

Who is naming these ships? What did the Excelsior do to warrant letter designations? God forbid they come up with an original name.
Yeah still trying to figure out why Voyager getting lost for seven years warrants a letter designation.

If I remember correctly. The F-keys give you other optional views. I'm still on the old bridge commander with only Kobayashi mode. But press F9 then F3 to view your ship from the other ships keep pressing F3 to cycle through the ships. It great when you choose to fight a ship that can cloak. Before they cloak before you fire press F9 then F3 then F9 is back to your ship. When they cloak press F9 should take you back to opponent view. Now you know where the cloaked ship is.
I did it in story mode. 1 time the game just stopped. Didn't crash it was just stuck as the Romulans run away cloaked but I found them think this was the asteroid chapter. That's right I was on God mode. So I rammed the cloaked ship into an asteroid. Then turn of God mode. But the Romulan ship was so badly damaged it didn't run away. And the game didn't crash it just stopped.
Couldn't ram the ship anymore. It was if the ship wasn't meant to be there the game wouldn't continue. But could still play around.
Yarp, the F (function) keys change the Camera while using Cinematic Camera (F9). This works in all mega mod versions of BC I know of (Remastered, KM, Vanilla, etc)

Seems like there were some battles where the shockwave torps just made it easier for the enemy ship to fire all its weapons at you as it spun around. Meanwhile, it made it impossible for you to really focus your fire to take down a shield. It was very effective used against you when you were in the SSD...that is for sure. LOL
Not sure about the Excelsior-D's design....just looks way to wonky for my liking.
When you did the in system warp and the Death Star fired on you and exploded WHILE warping away and the Death Star KEPT firing at you while exploding and warping away. I laughed WAY harder than I should have at that LOL.
I laughed EVEN HARDER when you got the DS to spin and it STILL managed to destroy you. Even causing saucer separation. I said "Oh nooooooo" while laughing at the same time lol. As well as the very end when you fired on another Excelsior-D and you suppressed a chuckle but then showed the clip of Data laughing.
This particular exercise was hilarious as hell.
Thanks Trent! Yes, I'm not sure the Excelsior D would look quite like this in canon. Lol. Darth has one major advantage, the force. He's a crackshot with that planet destroying beam. I wonder if Kes's telepathic abilities would be a match? The ship is so much fun!

I agree that the Excelsior D probably wouldn't look like this in cannon. LOL I agree about Darth having advantage of the force. Regarding Kes's abilities matching Vader's....hmm very questionable. I wanna say MAYBE but I think all Vader would have to do is force choke Kes quickly or maybe do extreme and force snap her neck and she'd be quickly done either way.
I mean we saw what Vader did to those Rebels who were trapped in the corridor with him at the end of Rogue One. Palpatine to Vader: "Do not hesitate, show no mercy!"
Is giving the excelsior a prefix cannon?
Not at present.
The Excelsior II in Picard had a "normal" registry (though a *very* low one for its service date)

Ah, its like the engine disabling torpedos from armada that caused me to mod ship names to make the steamrunner the barfbag class (uss barfbag, uss nausea, etc).

Sadly the Pralor aren't in Bridge Commander. Hopefully someday. The torpedoes they fired were crazy powerful! 🖖

Can you use these ships in the main play story on single player as well or just on instant battles?
I believe there is a way to do this, but it's very involved and the scripts have to be changed for each mission. 🖖
