    You don’t technically need these adapters. You can half insert the .25” cable so that only one band transmits data and that will provide the same effect. But its probably better to have the adapters for the security of not having a channel come loose during the set

    • @ourvoice7
      @ourvoice7  2 роки тому

      So it has to do with the rings at the end of the 1/4. The console insert is a TRS (3rings)which means it can send and receive audio. We only need to send out audio so we use the TS (2rings). So that adapter eliminates the “receiving” and turns it into just a sending channel. Lol hopefully that makes sense.

    • @ourvoice7
      @ourvoice7  4 роки тому +3

      So it’s Trs Ts conversion. If you just used the snake cable you wouldn’t get a stable signal. That I/O port is meant to send and receive signal at the same time. So plugging in that adapter eliminates the receiving signal and just sends. Hopefully that helps and sorry for the delay!!

      So if I had a 16 channel snake that was TRS on both ends then I wouldn't need the adapters right? The inputs on the back of the behringer input module are balanced 1/4 TRS analog inputs, not TS.
      Edit: I think I now understand. It looks as though you have a TRS snake here in the video. And the male part of your adapter is TRS, but the female part of your adapter is TS which essentially allows the output of audio through that cable but does not allow input through that same cable. I’m still a little confused like can you explain in depth like how you connect the drum mics, keyboard, guitar, and vocals mics to the speakers and the p16 in ear monitors

    • @ourvoice7
      @ourvoice7  3 роки тому +3

      So all of our mic cables on stage (drums, mics, guitars) ago a cable snake to the side of stage. That snake runs all the way towards the back into a mixer. So like you mentioned, we need 2 audio output sources one for speakers and other to the in ears. For the speakers it just sending out the normal main speaker output of the mixer. Now for my mixer, I don’t have a separate audio out channel for each individual channel. But my mixer does have a I/O port which is meant to send audio signal out into an effects rack then back into the mixer with the same cable. And every single channel on my mixer has that I/O port. So what did what essential use that port to only send audio out, but instead connecting to an effects rack like intended, Im connecting to the p16 distribution box. That box converts the “analog” audio from that I/O port into a “digital” signal. Then from the distribution box I run a cable to the P16 in ears. It’s a bit complicated because my mixer sends out analog audio signal when the P16 requires digital signals. So this like a “hack “ if you can think like that lol Hope that helps!

    • @dodolipretify
      @dodolipretify Рік тому

      @@ourvoice7 so in each channel, you have to connect 1 input cable from instrument, and 1 cable output from insert jack to the p16 distribution rack? So basically you put 2 sets of 16 snake cable?

Yes you need an instrument cable from your instrument to the mixer. So in my case each channel on the mixer has 2 cables, 1 instrument cable providing the audio in then one of the 16 channel snake going into the p16 Distribution. Question: I'm a little confused cause I know the inserts is for if u have external processor if you want to put effects on particular channels, how is it that you got it to work as an output to the the powerplay

    • @ourvoice7
      @ourvoice7  2 роки тому +1

      Exactly, so for the external processing you want to have audio going in then back into the main console. In this case I’m only using that port just as an audio out source. So that’s with the adapters and everything, I’m canceling the audio going In and just making it an audio out. Hopefully that helps the confusion!

      Ok think I understand , but one other question is the control of audio Is that as you raised d gain on each channel it automatically sends or adjust the level of volume going to the powerplay? I have the same mixing console but I just use the auxiliaries and some headphones pre-amp.

      @@richardisaac3180 great question! So no if you raise the gain on the main console it doesn’t affect the volume of the in ears, remember that external audio port I’m using is raw audio straight from the source. Just make sure you have a good clean audio source from your mics and instruments.

I believe some of the old Mackie analog mixers have that feature, not sure if all mixers have that feature but It wouldn’t hurt to try on other mixers as well. Maybe that would eliminate the need for an adapter. Blessings to all.

    • @ourvoice7
      @ourvoice7  Рік тому

      Just to use the insert I/O port on the mixer. Because in this case Im not trying to use a stereo signal, but instead cancel the “audio in” ability from the insert I/O port. So imagine im converting a stereo signal into a mono signal. That’s the purpose of the adapter. To convert a 2 functioning port (the audio in and out) to just a 1 function port (the audio out). @@peteryousef5177 ok. So using the insert I/O port has 2 functions. It sends audio out while also receiving audio in. Yes? Ok. So that’s why you need a TRS to use that port. Those cables have the right rings on the tips to allow the receiving and sending of audio. For the in ear monitors we only need the audio out function. Yes? Ok. But you just can’t insert a TR cable into that TRS port because the ring tips do not line up so you’ll get a dirty signal for your in ears.
