Wow...as a german we see all this and its kind of normal, so we forget that some things r special and uniq to hear how people from different countries see it warm the heart. Thank You so much, you r very welcome😊
Aweee, your "love letter" to Germany/the Germans is so nice, thank you very much for your kind words! It reminds me of how we humans should come together and learn from each other, we all have something to give and to explore.
Architexture?! LOL. I love your observation about graveyards and their treatment as gardens. I watch many videos of Americans observing Germany and this one never came up. As a German who has spent several years in America, it is definitely something that I observed as well!
Right now I watched four videoa of americans describing their experiences in Germany and to me as a German it's basically all about: Christams, food and nature. All of that perfectly understandable.
Isn't it funny that most people from abroad really can''t get enough of what they consider to be German culture, typical German traditions, good manners and such ? When at the same time all of this is under constant attack in our modern zeitgeist, all old structure, traditions and values are subject of ongoing deconstruction by cultural Marxists who loathe all ideas of identity and nation states !
Touching. Bless you for your inner depth and for letting me take part. May the lights shine bright for you once you come back and belong again! Love, R.
Thanks for your kind words at the end. My warmest welcome to you! If you like the countryside take a ride to the "Odenwald".It's between Darmstadt and Heidelberg. In Heidelberg you will meet lot's of American and Japan tourists. But the small towns in the Odenwald are really beautiful. Especially if you go there by motorbike.
This is the third video I’ve seen from the sisters. I must say that it’s quite heartwarming hearing your generous sharing of your experiences here in Germany. I so love that u picked up on the German soul, their basic mannerisms and their personality as a people reflected in the 1000‘s of little things that make a whole.
Oh My god Yesss ! I lived in Malaysia and Turkey and I met some Germans, special human beings .... very open minded, calm, funny and educated. I can't wait until I do my masters in Germany 😍😍
2:16 my grandmother always got really upset with me when not eating properly. "Do you want to eat like an American" she would say, I didnt know what she meant
I love open minded people like you are. I am a 52 years old German and have travelled around the world during the past 35 years. What I have learned for myself is , that travelling changed my view on a lot of things . Like you I met a lot of very friendly and helpfull people and enjoyed hospitality where I did not expect it. I am glad that you made this experiance here in Germany ! Take care and stay healthy in times of Corona ! Sunseeker
Thanks for that cute video. You‘re doing very well with our language. I think for americans and other foreign people it‘s very hard to get the grammatics in our language. Greetings and love from germany. 😄
Nice! I know your "base" in Darmstadt very well. I see it every weekend, when I walk with the dogs, into the nearby forrest. Did you ever walk along this forrest? It's a very nice space to relax...
Wonderful explained, thank you very much! Perhaps you live in future in the capital city of the Black-Forest, Freiburg. Live in the golden corner of the earth, that means France, Switzerland, Austria and Germany! Best greetings from the Black-Forest
Just to expend your observation about the graveyards, the Germans word for graveyard is Friedhof. Means (translated a little freely) place of peace. Since I grew up just beside a Friedhof, I can tell that they are places of peace (and calmness which is another translation of "Fried(en)").
Thank you very much for appreciating Germany so much, but Croissants with or without chocolate are French. We stole the idea when doing what we love most - travelling.
The Croissant is an austrian invention. But France made is famous and are known for it. And when you bring chocolate into the game you open up the door to the "pain au chocolat" vs "chocolatine" war. 😉
As a German I would say that we have no clue on "small talk" a lot of times. This could make it difficult to make first contact on a party. You can really end up just standing around and I find it impolite from us. This never happened to me when I was on a party with americans. You are welcomed right away, whereas in Germany you kinda have to "break through" first.
Your a nice girl! Du bist so sympatisch und gibst Dir so viel Mühe, das man Dich glatt heiraten möchte😂! Du bist in Deutschland jederzeit herzlich willkommen! You're wellcome every time!
Dear Lifey. You touched me. That was a very warmhearted and positive commitment to Germany. But it is better than we deserve. Lucky you were to make these experiences and find such good examples. But as a German I know better, alas. Nonetheless: You're amazing, keep going.
I don't know if people in the USA would be so generous if I spoke German there. Of course, the mother tongue is easier. But you also have to deal with it beyond that.
There was a missionarry, who can sing verry Well. She Songs the Song "for good" from Wicked in a musical-evening. I had have the plesure to do the blayback in the Piano for her. We realy changed 'cause of Meeting us. Hopefully every time for good.
Good to hear you have such a good impression of Germany! What really gave me a smile was you talking about what you took from your history classes =D So, well, the German tribes did not really enjoy partnering up as you said. As a matter of fact, the only time they stopped fighting each other was when they had an external opponent to fight together, e.g. the Roman Empire =) Also there was not really a German king despite the very late years of medieval times, before that it was still separated into Bavaria, Prussia, etc.. Also they did not partner up with the pope to resurrect the Holy Roman Empire, instead they used each other to stabilize power on both ends, and trust me reading through those stories, that was a history of ransom and threatening each other with everything possible. I know there is no such thing as medieval age history in the US so you guys don't know too much about it, but that was really not the romantic time that you think you know from movies =D
It's funny how an American perceives German hospitality while many Southern Europeans or Turkish people find that we are not generous enough. Cultural differences and perception are really interesting.
I am so happy, that she met the right people in germany, because we have also very small minded people...sadly. I hope that germany will be more tolerant in the future (bye bye afd)
Easy to love! 1 out of 4 people in the middle of US 13 states have German ancestry precisely because Germans today have a sense of humor but for the last 200 yrs---not so much.
Wow...as a german we see all this and its kind of normal, so we forget that some things r special and uniq to hear how people from different countries see it warm the heart. Thank You so much, you r very welcome😊
Vielen Dank für deine positive Sicht von außen.

Thank you from Germany! Blessings to your life

Wow! You almost moved me to tears (you did, but I can't admit it). I think, we could use a lot more people like you.
Made me cry to hear your words about us. Thank you.

You'll be very welcome any time you come back to Germany!
I love that you try hard to learn german!
Thank you for your kind comments. You will always be welcome
You summed up the history of the Germans in the Middle Ages in just a few sentences and described the nature! That's impressive.
Thank you very much for appreciating Germany so much, but Croissants with or without chocolate are French. We stole the idea when doing what we love most - travelling.
Actually they were invented in austria, after or during they fought the turks in vienna. Therefore the shape..
In return, the French stole our Imbiss concept and called it bistro. Napoleon's troops did that on the way back from Russia.
Croissants came from Austria from the war against Turkey 1683. Croissants looks like a halfmoon.
The Croissant is an austrian invention. But France made is famous and are known for it. And when you bring chocolate into the game you open up the door to the "pain au chocolat" vs "chocolatine" war. 😉
You are always welcome!

4:48 ye that is because many old areas got leveled in WW2. That is why Köln is so ugly and Düsseldorf is not.
