I remember when Figo went to Madrid as a kid , we peed on his shirt and let it dry, and then we burned it later . Those were the days one of my childhood precious moments
Simple explanation fam .. if you play in England, Spain Italy etc you don't sign for the rivals in your country but sign for another team in another. Hazard left chelsea and joined madrid, coutinho left Liverpool and joined barca the fans of their former teams still love them
Van persie leaving arsenal for man utd turned out to be a great decision. He finally won the premier league the next season with man utd being their most influential player. It wasn't about the money but his pursuit of trophies
It might have been a good decision if winning the Premier League is the only metric you go by. But it could be argued that it was not the best move as far as his legacy is concerned. At Arsenal he had the chance to become a club legend that would be spoken of and remembered dacades after he retired, maybe could have gotten a statue or some other enduring monument if he led the club to some silverware, and he wasn't earning peanuts either. But now he is just another player that once played for Arsenal and Man United and won't be remembered by any of the fanbases of both teams in future.
@@tommy_egan he became a legend at united, which he absolutely loves and holds more weight then being an arsenal legend. He is adored and actually attends some games. He has no love lost for arsenal as it seems. Best decision of his career. He'll never be forgotten
Lol but King, Van P did do the right thing though :D. I used to call him van Puss** but when he came to us. That all changed. Especially since its our last Prem
This UA-cam guys who make this videos. Do not tell the entire stories. Which kinda upsets me. There is more to this players. Why they were hated souch. Especially the figo to barca one. Not only was he our best player. He was also our captain. Not only that, he promised not to leave the club. Won the ballon d'or with us and presented it at madrid after his move
Players need to do what's best for them... Cristiano Ronaldo, out of love for Manchester United, turned down going to MAnchester City and went to United in that transfer window and the club did horrible, he had to carry the club. Meanwhile Manchester City were booming, that year the won the Premier League and the Champions League... IF Ronaldo went there, he would've had 6 Champions League total and 3 Premier Leagues total.
For us fans football is just a game, but for the players, it is their job. And often enough, if you work for a company and, the rival company offers a lot more to you, you will go and work for them and nobody will judge you, so why are we judging these players?
He didn't go directly to rival clubs. Not to mention he only stayed at Barca for one season so it wasn't long enough for fans to pour blood and soul over him like Figo Messi Xavi Iniesta Busquets Ronaldinho etc. Laudrup did a direct move from Barca to Madrid at his prime, but got no intense hate for it like Figo. Hagi indirectly went from Barca to Madrid but was loved by both fanbase nevertheless.
The concept of the Club is very much of the neighborhood, a city that is somewhat cultural of the place...that is why the betrayal of going to another club in the area or the one with the greatest rivalry is usually very treacherous.
Van Persie left because he wanted to win the league which is exactly what happen. 8 years at Arsenal and he knew he'd never win the league. Also, at the time, Arsenal didn't want to spend big money on their player or bringing in new players to try and win the league.
@@zeeo3147 as you can see by my profile I am a Real Madrid fan but I’m not gonna be biased about it and currently the way Real Madrid are playing I don’t think we are gonna win it so I’m not gonna say that we are gonna win it. It’s a tough question to be honest but I think it will Barcelona could win it or Leverkusen to be honest. I don’t want an obvious team win it other than my own team obviously, I would like to see some underdog teams going through.
Check out Newcastle united for the best fans in football such as the PSG game, the man I 5-0, the Barcelona game or the premier league voted best ever game 4-3 against Liverpool
The 60 millions are fees for the other club, not the player.
I remember when Luis Figo signed for RM.... Barca fans were flipping and burning cars in the street.... it was ROUGH

There's a whole documentary on Netflix about the Luis Figo transfer. And also a cool one about David Beckham

React o Luis Figo. Think about how insane an amount of money is 60 million euros in the year 2000!
