Hi Ryan! As mentioned previously, I'll be taking this exact route 2 weeks from now! My departure from Venice is at 10: 10 with a scheduled arrival into Milan at 13: 35. Your video is so detailed and well-narrated, I feel like I've taken the journey already :)
@@ryansofly It was a bargain! I only paid 21,50€ for my 2nd Class seat, and I got to enjoy both cities on the same day before my evening flight to Rome from Linate.
I loved the high speed trains in italy when we were there as it was the first time on hgh speed trains.. We travelled from Venice to Florence, stayed there a few days then Florence to Rome. Easy way to travel.
I always love HSRs. Pity Australia cannot make a feasible economical case for one between the cities along the east coast. I'm planning Japan and Taiwan HSRs in November, fingers crossed!
@@ryansofly Indeed Ryan. What I also found odd was that Canberra is so poorly linked by rail and coming from Melbourne the final section is single track with Canberra station having one platform and located away from downtown. Yes I realise there's not much rail demand but for prestige reasons surely the gov't would have spent some money on an upgrade.
Lol.... Yes I still gasp whenever I look at the Multipla. Wtf were they thinking? Guess what? My very first car after I got my driver's license was a Fiat Uno.
It's as good as a one button espresso machine can be, hahahaha.... It's Italy, good coffee is a given. I swear, they roll their eyes when I order a flat white, they shrug, then I go latte. In this trip, I've learnt to appreciate a macchiato. And that's all I've been ordering since I've returned to OZ. 😏
This train is an ETR-700, made by Ansaldo-Breda. It's a Medium Speed Train since it can reach speeds up to 250 km/h. High Speed Trains can reach speeds up to 350 km/h (China's Fuxing). TGV, Al Boraq and Shinkansen reach 320 km/h.
The line between Milan and Venice is yet not coplited, the max speed allow here is 300kmh (mainly on Milan Rome secion) they try 350kmh but the time gained(15 minutes) wasn t enought to compensate the exercise cost and mantenance cost.
no it can only do 200km/h, it was made for 250 but ansaldo messed up big time. Secondly the tgv can reach 350 as well and italys etr 500 can even reach 400km/h!
@@Alby_Torino if the dutch complains are rubbish, why does trenitalia not run them faster than 200km/h? Almost as if years of extensive rebuilding was not enough to make them handle that....

Hi Ryan, excellent review, and i agree - such drab decor. Your research is, as always, faultless. Thank you
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!

There was a man who allegedly made the trains in Italy run on time but he died almost 80 years ago.
Seriously... Nothing is ever efficient or on time in Italy.
