I am honestly surprised how high quality and insightful this video is, well done! I became increasingly interested in industrial design in the last few months and am thinking about perhaps studying it, really seems like an interesting field
Thank you so much for the kind words! I've almost quadrupled my subscriber count in the past month, so I think that this channel won't be small for much longer. I want to keep things as conversational and as personal as I can while I'm still able to, though.
Thank you! I started uploading more frequently and I've been getting positive results. I'm hoping that as long as I continue to improve on the quality of the content, it will help to educate a larger audience....which is really my main goal.
Loving your videos--I'm teaching 3d design and there is such a dearth of good contemporary materials on how to apply the knowledge to 3d design thinking. Thank you
Hey, I've got a question that's been bugging me. You mentioned that Apple C3 thing (I think that's what it's called) and how its design was all playful - kinda like a Ford Ka, you know, that cheaper vibe. Anyway, I've been thinking about this for a bit. It's like we humans change how we see shapes and stuff. Like, compare a F22 Raptor and a modern Lambo. They're all about using looks we're used to seeing to sell us something that screams speed and coolness. But hey, I grew up in the 90s. My first car was a Golf 2. And I've got a soft spot for those cars with clean, simple lines - think Acura NSX, Audi 80 Coupe, even the old-school Lamborghini Diablo. Those rides really speak to me. It's kinda funny how we're influenced by our past when it comes to what we like now.
thisd took me too long to find. I have been doing this wrong for years now, especialy the part of form follows surface transitions was completly new to me
Amazing video! Learnt a lot! A quick question, what software are you using to draw the concept? And what software (cheap or free) would you suggest for anyone interested in trying their hands at Industrial design and concept making?
just pen and paper is fine. for building physical prototypes, i recommend basic hand tools and a block of foam. the software I use is Procreate for iPad.
I haven't found this kind of content on any other channel. SO helpful and insightful. And gosh the titanic flute part cracked me up.
Yeah I'm all about that crappy flute

It's a great field. Very competitive. But a lot of fun.
Only 300 subs? I can't believe it. That's quality content bro. I subscribed.

4:40 Lol that was really NICE example of form and user comfort ! ;)
Great video, as an industrial design student this helps a lot! I hope to see more videos like this in the future.
Thank you! There will be more very soon!
Great analysis. Love your consistency always learning something ! It’s the first time I heard form follows function.
Thank you! Glad you liked it. The phrase form follows function was originally coined by an early 20th century architect named Louis Sullivan.
Good job brother! Hope your channel grows fast.

@@Design.Theory Nice! I'll stay tuned. I'm launching videos on my channel soon, more on the self improvement genre. But keep up the solid work man.

Thank you! glad you enjoyed it :)
Another fantastic video showing important and thoughtful concepts that contribute to industrial design.
Hey Raffi, thanks for the kind words. Also, your article on happy cars was very insightful :)
Tangent based & curvature based transitions also play an important role in typography and graphic design
Yup. A lot of these principles can be applied to other design disciplines.

Cried a lil when you used lexus as a failed case. I love lexus deisn. It's bad ass
I don't think it's failed. I just think it's odd. Odd doesn't necessarily mean bad. Many odd designs are very good.
Thanks for the video!! It was really interesting and well explained 😁😁😁
My pleasure 😊
Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us :)
