Laco was founded in 1925 with the desire to create authentic, passionate and precise timepieces. The brand prides itself on building watches of the highest quality. Laco is currently based in Pforzheim in Germany. The brand is incredibly innovative with its forward-thinking technologies but remains faithful to its roots.
The brand’s Pilot watch is the most iconic design in Laco’s portfolio. This range of models is an expression of the brand’s success story. Many of the Pilot’s watches take inspiration from their vintage predecessors with some even being deliberately aged to have the appearance of a genuine classic Laco model. Laco has stayed true to its original designs and aspirations in the creation of this collection of Pilot’s watches.
Core Features of the Pilot’s Watch Collection:
Each of the watches in this collection has a classic pilot’s watch design.
Laco’s first-rate German engineering ensures that all of the watches are powered by high-quality and precise movements, whether they be quartz, automatic, or hand-wound.
All of the Pilot’s Watches are made from the finest and most durable materials.
Each of the watches features Superluminova to ensure optimal readability, even in the dark.
    Model Specifications 862159:
This model features a grey dial with large Arabic numerals to mark minutes around the outer ring, and smaller ones to mark hours around the central ring.
The thermal-blued hands and indices are both treated with BGW9 Superluminova.
The dial is protected by sapphire crystal.
This model features a sapphire crystal exhibition case back, allowing the wearer to observe and enjoy the movement.
A stainless steel case frames the dial. It measures 42mm in diameter, 11.7mm in height and 20mm in lug width. The watch weighs 91 grams including the strap.
The watch is powered by an automatic Laco 2S Miyota 82S0 movement.
This model is water-resistant up to 50 metres (5 bar).
The watch is finished with a high-quality grey leather strap with steel rivets. The leather used is vintage and therefore every strap is unique.

Hi Barry, I really like what Laco are doing at the moment. It's crazy but this is in the same price range as the Seiko 5 and Citizen Tsuyosa ranges, and there's genuine heritage in the Laco.
I'd go for a smaller model, but if I was feeling flush I'd Spring for a DIN 8330, or to keep within the spirit of your (excellent) review an Aachen 39 with upgraded movement. There are times when I hate having small wrists! Thanks for this Barry, it's always good to see alternatives to the more well known brands. LG Bob 🍻

Why not do the original 55 mm ? 😂 Seriously, it's a beaut, and I can never understand people complaining about the "noisy" Miyota rotor. Their movements are slimmer and, in my experience, more accurate than comparable Seiko movements.
Not so sure about the grey dial, but that crown is spot on!
    Nice review. Subscribed. Cheers 🍻!

Thank 👍🏻 , The 55mm is a real beast of a watch many pilots in the war used to wear it on leg so when flying they could just look down and see it :) I personally don't mind the rotor noise its the same with the ETA 7750. See you at the next review Sir

Have always liked this type of design Barry. I reckon a Laco will be a future buy. The detail and finish looks good.
