- At the beginning of October, TLB offered to waive their MTO/custom fee. Since I really only own two good pairs of shoes - my Alden 907 black cap toe oxfords and my Allen Edmonds St. Johns double monks - I thought it would be worthwhile to get one more pair to set up the most basic parts of my dress shoe collection.
I received these shoes earlier today and wanted you all to share my experience of my new shoes with me.

I know how you feel. Something feels different when you put on a high quality pair of shoes.
Don’t worry about the heel slip, it usually goes away after the shoe breaks in a bit.
Those are VERY NICE, you definitely can't go wrong with TLB Mallorca Artista Line worth every penny, Congratulations on a GREAT PAIR OF SHOES!!!
I myself own the 107 in Burgundy Museum Calf, and the 110 in Dark Brown Hatch Grain Leather w/ JR Soles both are from the Artista Line
Heel slip is usually caused by the outsole being new and stiff. Once you wear them and flex the upper/outsole it'll stay on your heel better.
Great review. I need to get a set of those inserts for one of my pairs too....those would be perfect! These looked so sleek next to the Alden too, wow.

Did gou ever get the JR sole replaced? Was that hard to find? Also, what size new balance or nike do you wear?
Great review, great-looking shoes! What width do you require in Allen Edmonds, as I’m thinking of TLB but I’m a U.S. B-width?
I'm also a US B-width in Allen Edmonds. Honestly, that was the most accurate foot measurement I've gotten to date since it has applied for the other shoes I have recently purchased in my collection! So, I wound up getting a D width in TLB; however, I confirmed that with Toni *before* I purchased these shoes.
Also, I haven't quite yet reviewed these shoes. That will be coming soon, in the next two or three months, once I get some more wear to make an accurate review.

Black shoes are just better looking. Like my Carmina 732 black oxfords and my Joseph Cheaney and Sons Deal II black derby shoe military dress officer style.
Joseph Cheaney and Sons Alfred black oxford is very nice also. I have it.
You ended up getting a tongue pad didn’t you? That lacing is way too closed for being factory new and with wear and stretching it will fully close and possibly even overlap, which is not a good thing.
Hey, nice review! What is the benefit of going with the MTO process instead of the ready ones? Do you just get the JR soles? Any other benefits? Thanks!
I'll talk about this more in my full review, which I plan to release some time later this month. To sum it up, MTO (for a slight upcharge) allows you to make the shoe how you'd like it - leathers, width, last, outsole, etc.

Is the color brown? Or is it dark brown?
It's brown boxcalf, so it has much more of a dark brown look to it!
Beautiful shoes. The insert creates a height difference no?
If any, it's minimal. Shoe inserts are meant to help fill in space inside the shoe, if your foot isn't big enough; the heel is what adds height.
@@saxguychris thanks for the reply. I tend to use tongue pads in order to fill out the shoe instead of inserts in only one shoe.
UK 12 is US 13 size.
those Aldens look ridiculous with that huge welt, they look like snowshoes.
What is the UK D width equivalent in US width? Is it narrower? I’ve only seen E, F, G.and H.
UK D is close in width to US B. I confirmed with TLB before placing my order that I could get it made specially in D width, probably since it's not a very common width.
@@saxguychris Oh okay. TLB is good like that. Toni go me the right width when I told him my American width. They’re my favorite shoemaker for my budget. I’ll be getting a few more pairs for sure.

A UK 11 is a USA 12
there is no comparison between Alden and TLB. Alden is overpriced trash. TLB is high end craftsmanship and beauty for a killer price. TLB is exactly the opposite from Alden. Those Aldens look ugly, man! Alden is the worst company out there. The Goya last is great!
