And thus, the hero of Gotham hangs his cape and rests forever. For today, one of the greatest voice actors leaves us behind. RIP Kevin Conroy, you will be missed.
I like how he genuinely loves the character. He has such a deep connection to batman that it's more than just a job to him. Batman is a part of him...it's what makes him such a legit and awsome actor
That scene from mask of the phantasm is my favorite scene from the movie. Bruce crying in the rain on his knees begging his parents to understand his decision is heart wrenching. Such a great movie.
The fact that he's pleading with his dead parents to be happy in his own life? My God, Kevin Conroy was right. It's the Hamlet complex done in animated form. Bruce Wayne is the disguise and Batman IS the true identity. Always loved the fact that Conroy saw it that way...😎🇵🇷🇺🇸📽🗽🦂
When he talks about Batman's soul and character development, I think about a scene in the animated series where he tells Harley Quinn, after she tries and fails to reenter society, that "I know what it's like to try to rebuild a life. I had a bad day too, once." Honestly, Conroy is the best Batman in my mind.
My favorite is that scene between him and joker at the end of Arkham city. “You wanna know something funny? After everything you’ve done, I still would’ve saved you.”
@@caesarspeaks He wouldnt have dropped it had Joker not stabbed him in the shoulder though. He paused after drinking like half of it for a reason, he was thinking about the choice and then Joker made it for him.
@@caesarspeaks I th Ake that more as he would have saved Joker. Even after all joker fid,but his regret of letting Joker die convinced him that he did kill joker, when he didn't
I heard that around the time of 9/11, Kevin was in NYC serving coffee to NYPD & NYFD. No one recognized him. Then over a microphone he delivered a message to the various officers, in his Batman voice, and it rallied the audience. I can only imagine what that must have been like!
Mask Of The Phantasm is so freaking iconic! I love the scene where Alfred goes "My God!" when he sees Bruce dawn the cape and cowl followed by the iconic music. Goosebumps!
My favorite is the Arkham Knight ending... "I'm not afraid, Crane". It is so powerful. The whole game he sees Joker, but refuses to talk back. Refuses to indulge the insanity. Refuses to play along with the villains. He doesn't let Joker's venom take effect. He doesn't let anyone get under his skin. And then when Scarecrow thinks he's finally got him, Wayne just shows him that there is nothing you can do to beat Batman. And that is such a cool ending for the series.
His "I never counted on being happy" line is iconic. But for me personally, the best line Kevin Conroy ever delivered came from the Justice League cartoon episode titled 'A Better World,' in which Batman is battling his totalitarian alternate-universe counterpart. The Justice Lord Batman justifies his part in the hostile takeover of Earth by saying: "I created a world where no eight year old boy will _ever_ lose his parents... _because of some punk with a gun._ " Conroy delivers the line with such force, all explosive anger, disdain, and grief all at the same time. And like he says here, it reveals the soul of Batman; someone doing everything he can to prevent others from suffering the way he suffers. Brings a tear to my eye to this day.
I agree wholeheartedly. The scenes of Batman I love the most are when you see his walls break. He's always so stoic. So calm. Focused. So in those moments where he actually breaks, it feels so memorable and.. Human.
I'm here watching this, after hearing about his passing. So very sad. The one thing that could take out Batman? Cancer! My childhood was the best ever thanks to you! Legends never die! Rest in peace Kevin, aka Batman! ✌🏼
"I'm going to come into your bedroom in the middle of the night, and you're not going to like it." This could have gone so very very wrong out of context😭
I'm binging all of the animated series and movies tonight while I'm at work. I grew up with this man's voice in my head. I hold Kevin's Batman close to my heart, shaped me as a young man and even now I draw lessons now that I'm older and have a deeper understanding. We all take up the cowl tonight, we are all Batman
He didn’t just play Batman, he was Batman. Rest easy, Mr. Conroy. Thank you for everything.
And thus, the hero of Gotham hangs his cape and rests forever. For today, one of the greatest voice actors leaves us behind.
RIP Kevin Conroy, you will be missed.
If Kevin Conroy ever said that to me I would be valedictorian for High school, College Bachelor's and Master's
Lmao
😂 true
Fr
His voice is iconic along with Mark Hamil gets me every time. My two all time favorites
Hamill* he's propably angry when he see you people writing it without "l".
mine too
I agree, and would add Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) to the list.
@@koleszgdanska7149 I really don't think he would give a shit.

Exzctly, and that’s what sets apart these awesome guys from those voice actors who just see it as a job
Rest In Peace Kevin Conroy. You were always the best Batman.

I agree, never before has such a scene been done in a Batman movie before or since.
I never counted on been happy

Agreed
RIP to a legend man. there’s never gonna be another voice i hear when i think of batman.
Rest in peace Kevin / Batman. You’ll be missed by millions
My favorite is that scene between him and joker at the end of Arkham city. “You wanna know something funny? After everything you’ve done, I still would’ve saved you.”
But the worst part was that it wasn’t true. The Joker hallucination tells him so.
@@caesarspeaks I think he said that to try and convince himself he would've tried anyways instead of accepting that he wanted him dead

R.I.P. Kevin. You will always be THE voice of Batman for me.
RIP Kevin you will be missed
He was a great soul, such an amazing personification of Batman
RIP Kevin Conroy
0:38 it sounds so wrong when it's not intimidating
Sounds like Bruce Wayne casually talking lol
Haha that's his Bruce Wayne voice
RIP LEGEND Thank you for all the decades of voice work, from BTAS, JL, JLU, Batman Beyond, Arkham games and more! You will forever be the best Batman.

I said “mask of the phantasm” at the same time as Kevin while watching this.
Kevin conroy is still the best batman voice actor
Mask Of The Phantasm is so freaking iconic! I love the scene where Alfred goes "My God!" when he sees Bruce dawn the cape and cowl followed by the iconic music. Goosebumps!
